About the Role

We’re excited to be recruiting a Service Director to lead Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice. Reporting to the COO, this role is crucial in shaping the future of our inpatient and community services.

As Service Director, you'll be responsible for creating and delivering a strategic plan that will enable Sue Ryder’s vision to create a society where people support one another and can reach out for support and access

a range of services and advice when they need it. You’ll work closely with commissioners and providers across the Integrated Care System (ICS) to grow and develop our services, ensuring patients and their families receive the best possible care. Responsibilities

• Lead and innovate UK fundraising efforts, focusing on major donors and corporates.
• Develop a creative 3-year fundraising strategy and set actionable annual and quarterly objectives.
• Cultivate and expand relationships with new major donors, moving them along a prospect pipeline.
• Support the stewardship of existing major donor relationships, ensuring continued and increased support.
• Draft compelling theories of change, cases for support, and other key materials.
• Manage our visionary ‘donor circle’ initiative.

Qualifications

HCT owns and cares for 20 of the most significant Nonconformist and Catholic chapels no longer in regular use by their congregations, all listed at Grade I and Grade II*.  Key to the project is management of the assets, funded by the National Heritage Memorial Fund (NHMF) through their Cultural Assets Fund (CAF).

As a member of CCT’s national Conservation team you will be the main point of contact for all chapel maintenance related issues, liaising closely with contractors, local groups and volunteers. Alongside the Conservation Projects Manager for Chapels you will deliver the maintenance programme, including regulatory and legal compliance, as well as deal with utilities and insurance of chapels. 10 of the chapels are in our North region, 6 in our West region and 4 are in our South East region.

You will have previous experience in the field of historic buildings maintenance, repair or property management. You will be an effective communicator, be able to plan and deliver your own workload and also work as part of a team. As you’ll be working at chapels throughout England it is essential you have a full driving licence.

Role Summary

ProVeg International is a global organisation made up of 12 national non-profit teams, each of which responsible for local fundraising, supported by an international fundraising team focused on major opportunities, international, and core funding.

The role of the Grant Writing Manager is to provide excellent and compelling fundraising content of all kinds, whether internal cases for support, proposals, applications or reports in order to support the goal of at least doubling our global income from around 15 to 30 million dollars in the next three years.

You will be an expert in grant writing, and have a keen eye for detail and basic financial acumen related to project funding bids. You will manage a pipeline of global trusts and foundation applications, while providing support to proposals of other kinds driven by the wider fundraising team. Ideally you would be experienced in drafting compelling narratives for complex charitable causes, ideally in climate, environment or food systems transformation.

Responsibilities

International income generation

• Together with the International Fundraising Manager and Philanthropy Director, contribute to and implement a 3-year international grants strategy, and develop annual and quarterly objectives and key results (OKRs).

• Research and prepare proposals for potential major donors, trusts and foundations, and where relevant, corporate opportunities, and coordinate international and joint bids.

• Develop a pipeline of existing and potential trusts and foundations.

• Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of grants income.

• Identify suitable projects within the organisation’s plan in order to build cases for support and satisfy donor wish lists.

• Develop pitch packages and stories for different audiences, in particular donors motivated by reasons other than animal protection.

Country-specific and infrastructure support 

• Contribute to the international fundraising calls, support ProVeg country directors and national fundraising teams with grant applications.

• Identify and develop processes and systems to support the growth of trust and foundation income. 

• Help build the global grant-related infrastructure, including but not limited to:

  • Guidelines/policies

  • Compliance

  • Strengthening CRM use and internal coordination

  • Project impact evaluation with the Monitoring Evaluation & Learning team

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience of grant writing at a not-for-profit, preferably an international NGO.

• A track record of identifying and securing significant, and/or multi-year, five-figure+ funds from trusts, foundations and/or corporates, ideally also having obtained unrestricted (‘core’/operational) funding.

• Expertise in the development of grant application strategies and proposals (including strategic prioritisation of projects and opportunities).

• Experience with different grant-making bodies and requirements.

• Ability to turn numbers, outcomes and goals into a compelling story.

• Evidence of successful proposal writing, from start to finish, as well as experience with writing concise reports.

• Excellent project-management and organisational skills, including documentation of work, with the ability to lead and work collaboratively.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including confident demeanour and experience in engaging with a diverse range of people.

As a Rehoming Operations Manager, you will provide direct line management and leadership to our Centre Managers, fostering a culture of performance improvement, development, and empowerment. We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Some travel will be required to attend meetings and events outside of Scotland. You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

About the role

This is an awesome role focussed on improving our ways of working and processes when it comes to those who support us. We want all of our supporters to have a first class experience when they decide to donate their time and/or money to supporting children and young people with cancer and their families. However we know that as an organisation we have more to do to make this happen and the time is now.

Working in Income Generation, this role will take a recently conducted diagnostic carried out by a business improvement consultant and not only work through the next steps but make change happen, prioritising the areas with the biggest wins. This role really will have a lasting legacy in the organisation.

We're not just looking for someone to map change, this person will lead operational design and process re-engineering that transforms the Income Generation directorate and it's workforce into high achievers. 

You’ll be based within the Project Management Office (PMO), a supportive team of professionals that lead transformational change across the organisation as well as corporate planning. You’ll also have close relationship with the Head of Planning and Strategy in Income Generation as well as the Associate Director Supporter Engagement.

What will I be doing?

No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.

• Building on the diagnostics carried out already within Income Generation directorate to optimise organisational design and scope improvements. 
• Using the diagnostics to identify pain areas, develop a sequenced plan to tackle these issues and then implement the plan to improve performance, processes and services i.e. “getting hands dirty”.
• Embedding a culture of improvement in the organisation and developing these capabilities within the workforce.
• All of these activities will involve facilitating workshops, engaging audiences with tailored communications, debating and negotiating ideas with leaders, managing governance, risks and dependencies, evaluating progress etc.

We are looking for Maternity Cover for a Safeguarding Advisor.  If you bring both a breadth of safeguarding experience and an understanding of faith contexts, we have a new opportunity for you to use your accrued knowledge and skills for a good cause.

Thirtyone:eight, the UK’s leading Independent Christian Safeguarding charity is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Safeguarding Advisor. You will provide an expert and professional service on behalf of thirtyone:eight; including the provision of consultancy and engagement services, maintenance of policy, procedure and best practice guidance and contribute to the operation of our safeguarding helpline. 

We are looking for a person with strong communication skills and experience of providing safeguarding support and advice as part of a multi-disciplinary or faith-based context to join our established team for maternity cover. 

With a demonstrated commitment to the safeguarding and wellbeing of children and adults, you will need a good working knowledge of safeguarding policy, practice and legislation across diverse contexts (including the UK four nations), as well as a solid understanding of implementing safeguarding at a grass-roots level with faith organisations. In return you’ll get to work in a supportive and rewarding environment and the opportunity to share and learn from fellow safeguarding professionals from a range of backgrounds and settings. 

Please note that this job could be home based, office based or hybrid.

The out of hours cover hours are: 7am-9am and 5pm-midnight weekdays; and 7am - midnight Sat & Sun. There are minimal calls coming through during this time so you would not be on the phone all these hours.

• has a good understanding of human rights in the UK, including the practical reality of everyday rights and the potential for these rights to provide real-world protections for people and communities experiencing inequality and injustice;
• has a good understanding of the experiences, strengths and needs of communities across South West England, particularly Black and minoritised communities;
• is experienced in working collaboratively with civil society organisations and activists on programmes for change. 
• is an excellent project manager and a positive, can-do team player who relishes a challenge. 

You will be based in or within easy reach of Bristol and have an existing right to work in the UK.
