We require a Counsellor to provide counselling interventions and family support services in schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
The role requires you to liaise and work with parents and families to ensure that the child/young person’s needs are being met and any issues that arise are being addressed appropriately. This will also include providing support and guidance to school staff on these matters.
You must have knowledge of safeguarding guidelines and risk factors in relation to working with children and young people and be able to respond accordingly by following the locality safeguarding procedures and ensure that priority is given to the Safeguarding Policy and Procedures in all work undertaken. You must also support the school staff with safeguarding.
You must have competent IT skills, be confident with systems, complete reports, maintain records and manage confidential data and be able to review and obtain feedback on the support in place for the children and young people and provide this information back to the schools and Caritas Schools’ Service as required.
You must also be able to make autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice and approaches and partake in supervision one to one, clinical and group reflective supervision with other counsellors.
Registered counsellor status with the BACP or UKCP is essential. However, we will discuss experience and qualifications on a person-by-person basis if you are selected for an interview. The salary includes accrued annual leave.

- Responsibility for Measurement and Evaluation of your contribution to the whole L&D team's work - assessing the contribution of the various learning interventions in building strategic capacity across the Church.
- Developing the use of fresh tools (e.g. psychometric tools) to support senior clergy in their development planning and to provide psychometric support to selection processes as required.
- Contributing to the development and facilitation of bespoke learning interventions for various groups as needs emerge e.g. action-learning groups, development for BAME clergy and Church Traditions, or the design of cross learning community events.
- Helping to build and maintain a high-quality pool of external coaches and teaching faculty.
- Embedding learning from the various leadership modules through enabling team effectiveness programmes for bishops' senior teams and cathedral chapters.
- Coach senior leaders from any of the leadership programmes as the opportunities arise.
- Contributing to writing reports for key bodies when required, including the House of Bishops, the College of Bishops and General Synod if required.
- Deputising for the Head of Senior Leadership Development in internal and external meetings.
- Serving on discernment panels for the Strategic Leadership Development Programme.
- Contributing to the 'knowledge capital 'on leadership in the Church and to the organisational learning that arises from the programmes.

WaterAid Nigeria has recently completed its 2023-2028 country programme strategy which sets a 5-year building block towards delivering a more influencing led programme and reflects a progression from previous country programme strategies, outlines key shifts in focus required to catalyze change and achieve maximum impact for our work in Nigeria.
About the role:
The post holder will be expected to manage the effective implementation of the Accelerating Inclusive Sanitation and Hygiene Economy in Nigeria project working with the Bauchi State Programme team.
They would perform a wide range of duties using independent judgment and initiative to determine approaches or actions to take in non-routine situations. In broad terms, the job holder will provide technical, administrative and operational support for programme management (planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, knowledge management and fundraising activities) with reference to the SHF Project delivery in Bauchi state.
They will be required to interpret guidelines using policies and precedents. Most importantly S/he will be able to demonstrate sufficient professional and personal maturity to be entrusted with what in many cases will be sensitive information to the programme department and the organization at large.
Key Responsibilities:
A key responsibility of the Sanitation/Hygiene Manager will be to support the State Programme Lead by providing technical and administrative support to the Bauchi State Programme on sanitation/ hygiene to ensure the effective delivery of the Accelerating Inclusive Sanitation and Hygiene Economy in Nigeria project
and ensure WaterAid is networked in the right spaces to influence systemic change in Bauchi state. These will include:
General/Cross-departmental/Collaboration:
- Works closely with the State Programme Lead to ensure quality and standard delivery of the Sanitation and Hygiene Fund grant project activities.
- Lead in delivering the objectives of the SHF project in Bauchi State, especially in market-based sanitation, training of SME/entrepreneurs of sanitation and hygiene. This will also include promotions/campaigns, ODF strategies and development of WASH strategic documents and roadmaps.
- Represents WANG at State and national meetings, feeding back on progress and development on those platforms and suggesting necessary steps/advise to WANG.
- With the support of the State Team Lead, Head of Advocacy and Communication and Head of Programmes, develop appropriate activities and events to mark Global Days such as Handwashing Days, World Water Day, Menstrual Hygiene and World Toilet Days in Nigeria.
- Deliver learning products on sanitation and hygiene and engage effectively in knowledge management platforms sharing project learning on system strengthening engagements for improved sanitation and hygiene.
- Work collaboratively with the Business Development Officer as may be required to deliver project business case initiatives, especially as it relates to sanitation and hygiene.
- Support the State programme Lead in annual work planning and budget development and will be responsible for developing L3 budget for sanitation and hygiene-based activities of the Project.
Sanitation and Hygiene:
- Provide technical support that ensures sanitation facilities are hygienically and technically safe to use, are gender sensitive and inclusive and meet the needs of everyone at each stage of life.
- Promote gender-differentiated and inclusive sanitation facilities solutions that are context specific and addresses institutional gaps in schools, healthcare facilities, and public places.
- Provide technical support to hygiene interventions which must focus on behaviour change, and target people in household, community and institutional settings and expose the target population multiple times.
- Lead research processes that identify the determinants of hygiene behaviours and social norms, and use creative processes to develop context-relevant, attractive and engaging hygiene-promotion packages.
- Champion and support government to develop and implement national and state sanitation and hygiene policies, strategies and programmes building on African Sanitation Policy Guidelines
- Engage state level stakeholders to drive integration of sanitation and hygiene within work of health, nutrition and education.
- Engage with, support and contribute to sector planning processes and discussions around national sanitation approaches and strategies, adequate monitoring mechanisms and resource analysis.
- Influence government agencies, private sector, political leaders and other champions, to make sanitation and hygiene a political and social priority.
- Drive stakeholder engagement that considers sanitation service chain to unlock opportunities and catalyze growth in the sanitation sub sector.
- Facilitate private sector participation (women's economic empowerment, job creation, entrepreneurship, SMEs) - Engage collaborators [especially women (social and profit-oriented businesses)] at the various levels to encourage participation along the sanitation value chain at different levels.
- Support governments and private sector stakeholders to develop community-based sanitation marketing structures and viable business models for sanitation and hygiene services.
- Support local private sector participation in the delivery of sanitation services and products.
- Drive engagements that will unlock the sanitation economy including developing an effective fecal sludge management framework, the Toilet Economy, the Circular Economy and a digitally driven Smart Sanitation Economy.
- Provide technical support that drives WaterAid's efforts to support the Clean Nigeria Campaign (CNC) and government plans to achieve ODF 2025 and Hygiene Behavior Change Communication Approaches (HBCCA).
- Support data driven sanitation and hygiene interventions in a participatory manner using the Life Cycle Costing Approach and developed Local Investment Plans to ensure the sector benefits from and are driven by credible data collected.
- Support process to design programmes that promote non-discrimination and equality, sustainability, accountability, participation and access to information.
- Monitor, evaluate and share evidence of WaterAid's implementation to strengthen sector knowledge.
Advocacy, Partnership and Innovation:
- Support the formation of effective partnerships at national, state and local levels with government bodies, civil society, academic/ research institutions, international development partners, youth groups, Donors, Researchers, Think Tanks, Innovation Hubs media and private sector.
- Advocate and influence to improve integration and prioritization of sanitation and hygiene into other sectors such as Health and Education with the aim of improving national planning processes and state level implementations.
- Work in partnership to maximise impact, share knowledge and experience on sanitation and hygiene behavior with key institutions, stakeholders and platforms.
- Work to influence donors and governments to invest more in sanitation and hygiene and encourage adequate and consistent budgetary allocations that are effectively and efficiently used at national and sub-national levels to ensure sustainable and quality implementation of sanitation and hygiene plans and policies.
Research, Evidence, Learning
- With the support of the communication unit, develop case studies, position papers, policy messages /briefing notes, web articles etc. on key sanitation and hygiene issues to achieve influencing outcomes of WaterAid work in Bauchi and Nigeria.
- In collaboration with the Advocacy and Communication Team, receive and analyse legislations related to WASH and in particular sanitation and hygiene at State Houses of Assembly and prepare reports that convey impact of policy and legislative proposals on sanitation and hygiene access within specific jurisdictions of state and LGAs.
- Raise public awareness on issues of WASH, sanitation and hygiene in collaboration with Communications and Media team.
- Support the design and delivery of activities targeted at strengthening policy analysis and capacity of WANG CSO partners in sanitation and hygiene and WASH in general.
- With the support of the State Programme Lead and Strategy, Programme Effectiveness and Learning (SPEL) department document and share learning on sanitation and hygiene policy issues and civil society engagement, citizenship engagement/empowerment, rights of stakeholders, gender, equity, and inclusion.
- With the support of the WaterAid SPEL team synthesise findings and recommendations from completed research(es) conducted by WaterAid Nigeria into practical actions in sanitation and hygiene.
- Manage collaborative case studies, impact surveys and other research to adequately inform stakeholders about the critical issues in WASH service delivery and design.
- Initiate and support in dissemination events to share policy research reports in sanitation and hygiene.
- With the support of SPEL team develop, administer, and periodically evaluate institutional development tools which considers access and rights, equity & inclusion and other key components to effectively evaluate performance of the WASH sector in sanitation and hygiene.
About you: To be successful, you'll need to meet the following criteria.
Essential Criteria
- Must have a University degree in Environmental/Public Health, the Social Sciences, Development studies or related fields.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience of which at least 5 years must be in WASH Programme/project management, sanitation and hygiene promotion, community management, WASH programmes advocacy with any reputable international agency.
- Experience with high level stakeholder engagements (government/ development agencies), driving and delivering strategic priorities.
- Experience with building capacity of implementing partner organizations especially CSO's and government.
- Experience of managing multiple project stakeholders including community level stakeholders; government officials; CSOs etc
- Experience of project documentation for use in influencing; writing case studies and success stories.
Desirable Criteria
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Education and Awareness and any of Project Management, international development / human rights, sociology, public policy or political science will be an added advantage.

About the opportunity
Critical to our mission, we are looking to recruit a South West and South East Programme Manager to be responsible for three geographical areas and the schools within them, and to support further geographical expansion. You will oversee your region’s Action Tutoring programmes, liaising with our partner schools and developing new school partnerships, whilst supporting your team of Programme Coordinators to engage pupils and support them to build relationships and retain a strong pool of volunteer tutors.
As a Programme Manager, you will line manage Programme Coordinators to ensure they effectively manage their caseload of schools, whilst driving the quality of programmes and ensuring that the delivery of programmes meets organisational KPIs. This role will take a lead on new school recruitment, regularly pitching to Senior Leaders within schools and managing school partnerships within your region to ensure Action Tutoring’s growth targets are met. Additionally, you will contribute to the wider leadership of the Action Tutoring programme team, lead on programme-specific projects to support the programme department's priorities and will be expected to support the wider learning and development needs of the Programme Coordinator team.
This position would suit someone who enjoys working with people who have a frontline role, gets energy from pitching to schools and wants to increase their management experience in an exciting and rapidly developing charity. The successful candidate should be able to manage their own workload to a high standard as well as support others, have excellent attention to detail, be adaptable, relational and used to problem-solving and be able to work well with a range of stakeholders and be confident carrying out administrative tasks to support programme delivery.

Duties and responsibilities
· Oversee the delivery of all Action Tutoring programmes and corresponding work in the South West and South East; this currently includes Devon, Sussex and Bristol.
· Line manage up to seven Programme Coordinators, meeting weekly with them and overseeing the delivery of their programmes, and supporting them through regular observations, training and feedback to ensure consistently high quality programme delivery. Line management would also include HR responsibilities (appraisal, recruitment etc.) with support from others in the charity.
· Work with Action Tutoring’s Head of Programmes (South) on business development. Leading on recruitment (sales) and retention of schools in the South West and South East. Ensuring that there are a sufficient number of partner schools in the South West and South East according to growth and income targets, by creatively finding new ways to partner and pitch to new school leads
·Ensuring that the Programme Coordinator team accurately collects and records vital data for impact reporting purposes, through confident use of Action Tutoring’s database, processes and systems.
· Lead on reviewing and improving programme delivery in the South West and South East through regular visits to schools and programmes. Using data to reliably assess programme performance and engaging with quality assurance processes to drive impact.
· Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in Action Tutoring’s partner schools in the South West and South East, including members of the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring strong retention of school partnerships each academic year.
· Take a lead, with support from others in Action Tutoring, on networking in the South West and South East. This could include connecting and attending events with other charities, universities and other organisations to build Action Tutoring’s presence locally.
· Work closely with the Marketing, Communication and Engagement teams to establish and maintain volunteer recruitment opportunities and channels in the South West and South East.
· Develop strategies, meet with new leads and attend events to ensure a sufficient supply of high- quality tutors for your region, effectively managing your tutor pool and signing tutors up to programmes.
· Lead on projects that support the programme department’s priorities and strategy, dependent on your individual skills e.g. safeguarding, curriculum, data.
· Report and work closely with SMT, including presenting to SMT and attendance of biannual Programme Manager training days to add input to future development of programme delivery.
· Facilitate wider team or programme team training to support the learning and development needs of frontline staff.
· Any other responsibilities reasonably required.
Person specification
Qualifications criteria:
· A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).
· Right to work in the UK.

· Able to develop strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders. This includes the ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders you may not see regularly. You will need to be able to adapt your communication style to different audiences and uphold Action Tutoring’s high standards of professionalism.

The role and your key responsibilities
As an Account Manager, your role is to make sure that all partners in your area make the most out of the Unifrog platform. You’ll build and maintain excellent working relationships with your partner schools and colleges, and provide expert guidance on how to embed the platform across all year groups. Our charity is going through an exciting period of positive change and we are looking for a Financial Controller to lead our Central Finance team based in the West Midlands area!
The role of Financial Controller is mainly remote however you will be expected to travel to the Central Finance Office in Stourbridge to meet with your team and other relevant locations on occasion.
We’re hoping to hear from those that can provide financial leadership and effective management of the Trusts financial operations including AR, AP, Treasury and Payroll and Fixed Assets, that can ensure the delivery of a proactive and professional customer focused service, ensuring finance deadlines, and legislative and statutory requirements are met.
You’ll work closely with the wider organization, building strong internal relationships to ensure the effective management of financial resources.
Main responsibilities:
oOversee the month end process, working closely with all finance staff.
oWorking closely with the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners with the preparation and consolidation of the monthly management accounts.
oSupport the Head of Finance and Finance Business Partners during the annual budget cycle and ensure all budgets are agreed and implemented on the accounting system.
oManage the external audit and the year-end processes and complete statutory financial statements to draft stage in accordance with the Charities SORP including all working papers.
oEnsure efficient and effective financial control operates throughout the Trust, ensuring all regional and central financial activities comply with legislation, policies, procedures and the delegated authorities.
oActively oversee the management of the Trust payroll function (including pensions) ensuring compliance with legislation and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of employee pay and third-party payments.
oManage and administer the Trust bank accounts, credit cards, and cash flow.
oProject Management.
Who we are looking for
oProfessional Accounting qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAEW or Part Qualified (Final year) or equivalent degree OR In-depth QBE with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar senior finance role within the charity sector.
oExperience of people management within the finance functions.
oKnowledge of payroll practice and a full understanding of HMRC requirements.
oExperience of preparing statutory accounts and working papers and proven success working with auditors and managing the audit process.
oAble to demonstrate a proven track record in all aspects of accounts e.g preparation management accounts, budgets, balance sheet reconciliation and forecasts.
oExperience of Treasury management including cashflow forecasting & monitoring.
oExperience of preparing VAT returns.
oAdvanced User of different accounting packages.
oConfident User of MS Office 365, in particular Excel (intermediate/advanced level), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
oExperience of managing finance projects (e.g. new systems)
oKnowledge & understanding of internal controls & accounting processes.
oPrevious experience in an accounting role in the Charity or Housing or Care Sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
oUnderstanding of the Charity SORP.

As Green Connections Community Coordinator, you’ll champion and build relationships with communities in Darnall and the S9 area. You will work with the Curator of Natural Sciences to facilitate a programme of activity, for example events, displays, workshops, nature walks or digital content, developed in collaboration with communities. This programme will be inspired by Sheffield’s Natural Science collection and on the theme of climate and environmental crisis.
The Job
The purpose of the job is to:
· Build relationships and liaise with community groups in Darnall and the wider S9 area, in order to increase awareness of and engagement with Sheffield’s collections and museums.
· Work with the Curator of Natural Science to facilitate a programme of activity (for example events, displays, exhibitions, workshops, nature walks, films or other digital outputs) developed in collaboration with communities, inspired by Sheffield’s Natural Science collection and on the theme of climate and environmental crisis.
· Promote and facilitate access to Sheffield’s collections.
· Work with the Curator of Natural Science to plan and co-ordinate the Green Connection project.
· Work with colleagues to develop and test evaluation models.
The Bigger Picture
You will:
· Actively listen to communities, learn about their needs, the barriers to engagement and perceptions of Sheffield Museums to evolve our working practices and programmes in order to be more inclusive and useful.
· Help to create, sustain and retain connections with individuals and communities, broker relationships and inspire people to engage with Sheffield’s collections and natural heritage. Show that museums provide a vital and relevant service to the city’s population.
· Utilise and test collaborative working practices and provide feedback that will be shared across Sheffield Museums.
· Work collaboratively with communities, colleagues, creative practitioners and other specialists, to deliver outputs inspired and directed by communities, connecting their needs with Sheffield’s natural science collections and wider natural heritage, to improve engagement with, and ownership of, Sheffield’s collections and environment.
· Contribute to and deliver against Sheffield Museums’ strategic plan, significantly increasing community ownership and the different perspectives and lived experiences that are represented in the city’s collection.
· Advocate for wider ownership of the collection across the city, proactively sharing information about the collection with colleagues, visitors, partners and communities.
· Facilitate access to the collections through visits to the store, digital platforms, and workshops.
· Develop a network of individuals and community representatives who will advocate for the role and importance of the museums and collections within the city.
· Help to supervise and administer volunteers and community project participants to support this work.
The Day to Day
You will:
· Help to identify community partners in Darnall and establish trusting relationships with them. Liaise directly with them, helping to identify their needs and develop opportunities for the museums and collections to be useful to partners.
· Collaboratively facilitate projects with communities that will use the collections to explore environmental change in different ways, trying new things and evaluating impact.
· Act as a representative and advocate of Sheffield Museums and liaise with external stakeholders and partners including but not limited to universities, community and interest groups, creative and environmental practitioners, businesses and specialist network agencies, taking the opportunity to promote fundraising where appropriate.
· Be responsible for your own safety, the safety of colleagues and visitors, taking all appropriate measures required to maintain the security and safety of collections, buildings and people
· Monitor the activity of volunteers to ensure a high standard of service is provided.
· Be available for out of hours emergency call out at all sites as required.
· Undertake any other reasonable duties that may be required by the post holder.
