About this exciting opportunity
Our successful candidate will complete an Initial Needs Assessment, using a strength-based approach within agreed contractual timeframes, before dynamically assessing need and risk, alerting to changes that could indicate change in risk or serious harm, including personal safety and safeguarding. You will be expected to contribute to the design and delivery of an effective accommodation plan which is solution focused and practical, and to advise and support Service Users to achieve outcomes informed by your specialist housing knowledge and comprehensive understanding of accommodation and local service provision.
We will rely on you to engage with and motivate challenging service users from a diverse range of backgrounds, often with multiple and complex needs, while also maintaining and building new relationships with both social and private housing providers to improve sustainable housing outcomes for our service users and promoting effective working relationships within the criminal justice sector. Monitoring progress and recording on digital systems, plus coordinating and facilitating interactive group work sessions, are also key duties.
What we are looking for
- Experience of working as part of a high-performing team
- Experience of using digital technology and providing evidence for external audit purposes
- Demonstrable knowledge of housing and an understanding of the main issues affecting homelessness and rehabilitation of offenders
- A detailed understanding of the Homelessness Reduction Act
- An understanding of how staff with lived experience can provide additional value
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and awareness of the issues faced by our client group
- Sound knowledge of the UK criminal justice system
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred with access to a vehicle for work
- Excellent prioritisation, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

With experience in managing complex grants and delivering compelling, quality funder reports, you will ensure we meet and exceed donor requirements and expectations. We seek an experienced, hands-on and strategic Head of Finance to build and lead Global Dialogue’s finance function, ensuring efficient and compliant management of our finances, while helping to shape robust and effective systems and processes to ensure our work is delivered to the highest standards of good practice in the charity sector.

Overview
To date, Global Dialogue’s finances has been overseen by an external accountancy firm. Over the last eighteen months, we have been working towards bringing our finance function in house. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take the reins and complete the development and roll out of our internal finance function.
The Head of Finance is a new role within the organisation that is both strategic and handson. In the first phase, the postholder will be required to roll up their sleeves and, with the support of Global Dialogue’s Finance Officer, get stuck into the detail of financial administration, including overseeing twice monthly pay runs, monthly and quarterly closes, and other day-to-day financial management tasks. Alongside this, the role will lead on bringing the finance function fully in house, eventually taking on full responsibility for the preparation of management and statutory accounts, cashflow and FX management, and budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will play a key coaching role for the Finance Officer, with a view to eventually delegating all bookkeeping tasks. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring finance systems are innovative, robust and fit for purpose, and will be a business partner to our hosted programmes, providing advice on compliance and strategic matters.
Global Dialogue’s role as an international fiscal host means that we have a complex financial model, receive income from diverse streams and manage a high number of restricted funds. Our programmes lead cutting edge work, which means that our work is varied and fastpaced, requiring frequent innovation. Under the leadership of the Digital Marketing Lead, working alongside the Creative Content Officer and with the support of the Communications Officer, you’ll deliver the workplans to the Digital Marketing strategy, develop and deliver all Born Free’s social media communications, including – but not limited to – fundraising appeals, adoption stories, stories from the field, including conservation and animal rescue and relocation, and news stories from the policy team.
You will have the incredible opportunity to translate our powerful narrative, outstanding achievements, and ambitious plans to all touchpoints on social, working directly with our programmatic and marketing teams and the Co-Founder. You'll build and grow our engagement and conversions by tailoring content to our different audiences.
Working alongside our external agency and the Digital Marketing Lead, you will also be proactively engaged in our paid social activity.

Main Purpose of The Position
The Fundraising Manager will work closely with the Thai-Karen team and Director of KHT to secure funding to support the successful operation of the charity and implement projects in KHT’s three key programme areas: Community Health; Sustainable Livelihoods; and Access to Education. The role will be primarily desk based but with opportunities to travel to the field. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for:
• Developing and implementing KHT’s fundraising strategy;

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

3. Manage grant applications for our projects to existing and new funders, who may be foundations, corporations, or individual donors.

Young Marketeers
This much-loved programme was started in London in 2012. It is now running in 12 cities across England and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund for three years. The programme provides hands-on opportunities for children from primary schools to grow fruit and veg from seed to sell at their local market. Young Marketeers is also a platform for School Food Matters to promote food education to schools and communities as a way to support children to live happy and healthy lives. Children learn the art of growing veg from seed, and market traders will share their secrets on how to create a winning market stall. Primary schools will be visited by our gardener in March/April and then again in May/June and receive further tips on how to ensure a bumper crop. And in July, they head to the market to sell their produce, and to meet the mayor!
