We are seeking a coordinator for our educational mentoring programme for young refugees and asylum seekers. The coordinator will oversee our North London mentoring hub by recruiting and training volunteer mentors and matching them to young people needing additional educational support.

About the role 

This is the perfect role for a press officer with great news judgement, who is proactive about hunting out media opportunities, and tenacious about seeing ideas through until coverage appears.

You’ll be comfortable pitching to a range of producers, journalists and editors, will have a sense of what makes a good broadcast spokesperson, and be confident helping colleagues to prepare for media opportunities. International development experience is not essential, but you’ll be able to show a strong interest in our work and be passionate about helping deliver our mission. 

We are looking for a creative go-getter with lots of ideas about how to secure media coverage for our work. You should be able to write well and build relationships with a wide range of people around the world. In return, you’ll be given room to flourish and supported to raise the profile of CAFOD, and will also have the chance to work on humanitarian appeals launched by the Disasters Emergency Committee.

The Open Wing Alliance (OWA), a program of The Humane League, is a global coalition of approximately 100 animal protection organisations across 75 countries united in a common goal: to end the abuse of chickens worldwide. For the past several years, we have focused our efforts on eliminating battery cages by securing cage-free policies from major retailers, restaurants, and manufacturers. OWA groups share tactics and resources to secure as many wins for animals as possible, specialising in institutional campaigning that can be tailored to our members’ unique circumstances and challenges.

The Humane League is seeking a tenacious, determined, and well-organised individual with the drive to create progressive change for millions of farmed animals. The Temporary OWA Europe Regional Lead (Maternity Cover) is responsible for carrying out all aspects of our coalition’s work in Europe. This includes strengthening the OWA’s presence in Europe, developing and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with OWA and partner organisations, empowering groups to coordinate regional campaigns, overseeing grants made in the region, and supporting groups in advancing institutional campaign work in their countries. Many Europe-based OWA groups are focused on the European Chicken Commitment (ECC) and broiler chicken welfare, although some remain focused on securing cage-free commitments.

As Temporary OWA Europe Regional Lead, you will be part of the OWA Member Support team, a small, high-impact team that specialises in coalition and capacity building. The team fits within the Global Programs department at The Humane League. The department has a strong understanding of corporate outreach and campaigning for improved corporate policies by multinational food businesses, and we leverage that knowledge to strengthen the global animal protection movement through the OWA. The Temporary OWA Europe Regional Lead role reports to the Director of the Open Wing Alliance.

This is a temporary, full-time, remote position requiring international travel, equivalent to approximately 3-4 week-long trips per year. This is a fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave for up to 15 months. Employment is expected to begin on approximately October 7, 2024 and end on approximately December 31, 2025.  The duration of employment may be extended or shortened at The Humane League’s discretion. The Humane League is not the employer of record (EOR) for this position; the successful candidate will enter an employment agreement with a local EOR with whom The Humane League partners.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Strategy

• Lead, manage, and develop all OWA membership activity across Europe.

• Work closely with OWA members to coordinate on corporate outreach and campaign targets and actions.

• Develop the internal OWA strategy, informed by research, current events, and collaboration with other organisations. Research and stay abreast of developments in corporate relations strategy.

• Observe and work with other organisations to learn new approaches, and share or coordinate strategies with Europe-based OWA groups.

• Contribute to the OWA Europe grants program, including supporting and monitoring the efficacy of grantees.

Communication

• Oversee communication with Europe-based OWA member groups. 

• Streamline communication between OWA groups in Europe by coordinating meetings and webinars and managing communication channels, such as Slack.

• Collaborate with team members in the Global Programs department on campaign targets and actions, and ensure key messages are relayed to OWA groups in Europe.

Member Relations and Support

• Support the development of goals and content for the annual OWA Europe Regional Summit in March 2025, and assist the OWA Training & Events Specialist with some logistics of the event.

• Ensure that OWA member groups in Europe have the support and resources they need.

• Lead the onboarding of new OWA member groups in Europe, developing and implementing personalised support plans and training for grantees.

• Attend check-ins as needed with the Director of the Open Wing Alliance, OWA Grant Lead, and Europe-based OWA members to encourage accountability.

Other 

• Attend conferences, events, and protests as required.

• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of the Open Wing Alliance.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Mission alignment: Dedication to THL’s mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food. Experience with, or interest in, the animal advocacy movement in Europe. 

• Collaboration: Outstanding relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with a track record of effective external partnerships and the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders across various cultures. Able to facilitate conflict resolution and optimise collaboration between OWA groups. 

• Problem-solving and strategic thinking: Actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions, with strong decision-making capability. Able to recognize and define problems, identify the underlying causes and contributing factors, and take a practical approach in considering different courses of action. Considers issues from various angles and generates logical and cohesive ideas.

Sensitive to cultural and situational differences, with a demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

• Tech-savvy: Comfort and proficiency with contemporary software applications. Able to quickly learn new software, including project management systems and communication tools. 

• Independence: Self-directed, ambitious, and comfortable taking initiative. Makes use of available resources and consults other staff members when appropriate.

• Organisation and project management: Able to manage a variety of simultaneous tasks and projects, prioritising and reprioritising effectively, with solid attention to detail. Excellent project management skills needed to coordinate logistics and communications with dozens of groups across many countries. 

• Communication: Fluency in English (other European languages would be a plus but are not essential). Able to communicate clearly and effectively with a variety of stakeholders across various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Comfortable with public speaking and able to represent The Humane League and the Open Wing Alliance in a positive and diplomatic manner at conferences and events.

• Good judgement: Safeguards confidential information and performs with a high level of discretion and integrity.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this role is £37,454 - £45,777 GPB. At The Humane League, we believe in maintaining a fair and equitable work environment for all employees. The Finance Officer will be a key member of the Finance Transactions Team and will undertake a varied and interesting range of income, rebilling and cash collection tasks.

The post -holder will assist in ensuring all invoices are issued in a timely manner and for maintaining the debtor ledger.

* Process all periodic and adhoc invoices for contracts, rebilling other activities undertaken by the business, on the invoicing system (CSB) per the required timescales
* Liaise with colleagues in the business to establish correct invoice data and required supporting information
* Assist with updating customer data including contact and address information on CSB and SUN
* Provide debt analysis ( spreadsheet and/or reports generated by the arrears management module (Collect Plus) ), as required
* Monitor the Rebilling and Income mailboxes and deal with queries and invoice requests promptly and effectively
* Assist in the provision of an effective credit control function by following established procedures to ensure prompt collection of Look Ahead's debts
* Assist with the allocation of payments by identifying cash received
* Participate in the periodic reconciliation of debtor accounts
* Maintain the invoice registers on an on-going basis
* Run month end reports and extract information as necessary.

This role is to deliver a co designed menu of support, in collaboration with The National Autistic Society, Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Trust, and Barnardo’s. Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is the UK’s leading health and research charity for pulmonary fibrosis. We are seeking an organised, driven individual with excellent written communication skills to help us grow income from grant making trusts and foundations. This role will raise vital income that will help us support more people affected by pulmonary fibrosis, and fund ground breaking new research that we hope will help stop lives being lost to pulmonary fibrosis.

APF supports people affected by pulmonary fibrosis - a cruel and terminal lung scarring disease that cuts thousands of lives short in the UK each year. There’s no known cure, and it’s on the rise. We want to stop lives being lost to pulmonary fibrosis, and as we enter a new five-year strategic period, income growth underpins our ambitious and exciting plans to grow research, support and influencing.

As Trusts & Grants Coordinator, you will produce inspiring funding applications and reports, and develop relationships with new and existing funders. As well as building on our pipeline of grant making trusts, you will also support the development of income from statutory bodies such as local authorities.

We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, and who is able to write impact-driven funding proposals and reports to inspire sustainable funding. You don’t need to have direct experience of coordinating income from trusts and grants, but you will need to be able to demonstrate transferable skills and experience of working within the charitable sector is highly desirable.

Autistica are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell in their search for a part-time Director of Finance and Administration on a fixed term contract basis for 15 months. The Director of Finance & Administration will work closely with the CEO and take full ownership of the Finance department, as well as oversea HR and Admin.  The post holder is responsible for the finance staff team of two people.  This role is being offered on a 0.75 basis and is to cover maternity leave of the permanent postholder.

The role:

• Inputting into the Strategy and Business Plan working closely with the other members of the Senior Leadership Team. 
• Provide ongoing support and challenge to the Chief Executive, wider Executive Team, Treasurer and Board.
• Responsible for leading a team that can provide accurate and strong financial information in a timely manner that enables informed business decisions to support the ongoing commercial and charitable needs of each operation within the Charity.
• Confidently present the budget to the Board and wider team and respond to challenges and feedback in a proactive manner.
• Working closely with the Director of Research to keep track of restricted funding as well as the level of unrestricted reserves. 
• Lead the charity through the audit process, acting as the main point of contact for the auditors.
• Create monthly management accounts with commentary to the senior leadership team to tight deadlines, quarterly reporting to The Board in Finance Committee meetings and Board meetings. 
• Maintaining established internal controls and overseeing that governance documents are up to date with Companies House and Charities Commission.
• Oversee HR and Administration acting as the main point of contact with the outsourced HR provider. 
• Payroll – liaising with the payroll provider to ensure accuracy and efficient payment of the payroll and taxes.

About the role

As our Health Intelligence Analyst, you'll play a key role in British Heart Foundation's (BHF) Health Insights team, helping to ensure that BHF has easy access to data and uses it effectively to provide high-quality evidence and insight to a wide audience, ensuring we maintain our intelligence-led approach across all of our operations.

You'll be focused on the delivery of a core health intelligence service, ensuring the Medical team and the wider BHF have access to a wide range of high-quality health intelligence assets. This includes the management of our statistics sign-off process and a supporting role across the core team in managing, prioritising, and reactively responding to queries.

You'll also play a key part in regular reporting to support the work of the team and the directorate, as well as engaging with individual programmes of work as required.

Working arrangements

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London Office.

The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you must be prepared to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause. Most of our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office each week, on average.
 
About you

Educated to degree level in a quantitative field (e.g. medical statistics, epidemiology, health services research, biomedical research or similar), or with equivalent experience, you'll have a strong understanding of statistical methodologies and health and care data (specific expertise in heart and circulatory health data, and knowledge management techniques is desirable). 
 
You'll have previous experience working in an analytical role, ideally in a health-related organisation, and will have experience working with a range of data manipulation, analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. R, PowerBI, Tableau).

With confident influencing skills, you'll be able to communicate data analysis to individuals at all levels. You will also be able to collaborate with others with ease, able to make connections between data and information, strategy, systems, and ways of working.

Our Community Fundraisers are the face of Marie Curie in their local communities, building relationships and networks with a wide and varied range of supporters. From local businesses to local fundraising groups and everyone in between. Reporting to the Head or Deputy Head of Region and working closely with some of the most talented fundraising people in the charity sector, your role will be to provide support and guidance to people who fundraise and volunteer for Marie Curie across our regions, helping them achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Marie Curie. 

The Community Fundraiser role is one where you just don’t know what happens one week to the next as you never know who will choose to support Marie Curie in your community! 

The role would suit someone who can be flexible and react in a calm, measured manner to whatever the day brings, who is excited by potential and is ambitious, and who can deliver a high standard of customer service (supporter stewardship) to everyone they meet. 

Community Fundraisers are remote/hybrid based, with some presence expected at your local office or Hospice. For this role, the post holder will need to be willing to travel to Embassy Gardens (Embankment, SW11 7BW) occasionally. Due to the requirement to be London based, this post holder will recieve an additional £3,500 LLW on top of the offered annual salary.

This isn’t a role where you will be behind a desk every day, a good Community Fundraiser has a willingness to be out and about within your region meeting and supporting fundraisers.
