Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning.

We're looking for an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to join our Trusts and Grants team to look after a portfolio of prospects and grantmakers to help raise funds for our lifesaving work. This will be a full-time, permanent post. 4 days may be considered for the right candidate. Securing gifts from Trusts and Grantmakers will help bring our brave lifeboat crews home safely and provide the training and protective gear our crews and lifeguards need to save lives.

Your role

You will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team to help develop and steward a portfolio of Trusts, identifying new funders and projects and building sustainable long-term relationships with supporters in order to meet agreed financial targets and deliver our Trust fundraising strategy.  You will:

• Manage the stewardship of a portfolio of Trust supporters, making timely applications, delivering targeted reports and developing relationships in line with your stewardship plans.
• Be responsible for developing your pipeline to research and apply to lapsed and prospective Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making bodies whose objectives and interests fit with our work.
• Work collaboratively with programme and finance colleagues across the RNLI to identify projects and creatively package exciting funding opportunities to open doors to new prospects.
• Build well-crafted, ‘stand-out’ grant applications and impact reports with detailed budgets and timelines that clearly demonstrate to funders the impact of their donations.
• Through emotionally intelligent relationship management, keep funders engaged and excited about our work and inspire them to continue to give.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders and regional teams to identify creative approaches to new and existing funders.
• As one of a small team of Trusts and Grant Managers, support the rest of the team by gathering and sharing project and third sector information.
• Maintain excellent record-keeping to ensure accurate reporting and grant management in line with GDPR and accounting good practice.

The role is offered as a homebased or hybrid role. Some travel will be required.

About you

We are looking for a highly motivated Trusts and Grants Manager with:

• Experience of prospecting for large gifts and managing large donor relationships in a Trust fundraising environment or very similar discipline.
• Experience of working with project managers to identify and create attractive funding packages.
• Excellent attention to detail with experience of writing high quality, creative and compelling fundraising proposals and reports.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confidence in building internal and external relationships at all levels.
• Good personal resilience and an ability to work on your own initiative to manage projects and multi-task, plan and set priorities.
• A good understanding of the trust fundraising environment.
• A good understanding of financial reporting and experience in managing your own income pipeline.
• Excellent organisational skills with an understanding of the importance of good record-keeping.

Purpose of the role

Are you passionate about providing grants to ground-breaking environmental charities around the world? This role offers the chance to develop and manage a portfolio of grants dedicated to this subject area. The broad themes of the programme are: the regulation and reduction of harmful chemicals and pollution; Protecting human health and biodiversity in environmental planning (including though promoting good environmental governance) and regulating harmful impacts of business and development projects. The Environment programme has a budget of approximately £7m in 2024.

Relationships and reporting lines

The Programme Officer will report to the Environment Programme Manager and will work closely with members of the Environment programme team, as well as the Executive and Deputy Executive Directors on matters of strategy. Additional key relationships include interaction with the Trustees, as well as collaboration with the Trust’s other programme officers and operations staff.

Main duties and responsibilities

The post holder will be expected to manage all stages of the grant making process, from invitation to application, award and reporting.

Programme Officer Duties:

• Making a contribution to the vision for and strategic direction of the Trust’s environmental grant-making portfolio;
• Identifying potential grant applicants by researching organisations in fields of interest to the Trust, networking and attending relevant events;
• Reviewing submitted applications, interviewing potential grantees, undertaking due diligence and preparing analytical reports and recommendations for Trustees;
• Reviewing reports submitted by grantees, evaluating and reporting on the impact of grants and signing off on grant payments;
• Managing the grant making pipeline to ensure efficiency of processes and an appropriate balance of recommendations across the Trust’s grant making meetings;
• Maintaining relationships and regular communication with grantees, including site visits and attendance at grantee events;
• Keeping informed of relevant developments including civil society activity, the regulatory environment and academic literature;
• Developing relationships with other donors and stakeholders in the field; and
• Representing the Trust externally at national and international conferences.

Other Duties:

• Carrying out similar duties for other programme areas as needed; 
• Conducting research into particular thematic or funding related issues relevant for the Trust as needed;
• Such other duties as the Trust may reasonably require.

This role will manage and assess funding requests made by clubs who are members of the National League and their linked charities. It will also help to support and develop organisations who are new to community delivery. We want to enable them to be able to achieve great results with our funding and to become skilled applicants to allow them to access other grant opportunities.  The successful candidate with need to demonstrate an understanding of Theory of Change and what makes an impactful project. A knowledge of charity governance would also be an advantage.

You will need to have a strong understanding of funding systems and how grant support can enable recipients to make the biggest impact on their communities. You’ll also need to understand the landscape of community activity within football, who the stakeholders are and help to sustain partnerships across the network. Work will include the management of applications to the Premier League’s flagship education programme PL Primary Stars.

Being responsible for a variety of projects you will need to understand and respond to the different needs of our club community organisations (CCOs) by providing advice and feedback and be willing to have challenging but constructive conversations.  You will give pre-application support, assess and report on new applications manage current grants, liaise with grant recipients, undertake project visits, identify and manage risk, while supporting CCOs to deliver their projects and measure their impact.

This is a new and exciting role, which offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of stakeholders to develop and implement Justice Together’s influencing strategy. The post holder will also be responsible for managing a small number of influencing grants and working with the Grant Manager to ensure that the process for grant renewals runs smoothly. They will form part of a small and collaborative team together with the Director of Justice Together, Grants Manager and Grants Officers, one of whom works solely on the initiative and another who is seconded part-time from The Legal Education Foundation. They will report to the Director of Justice Together, and work closely with support staff within The Legal Education Foundation.

The successful candidate will have a passion for the values of equity and justice, and will be able to demonstrate a personal style that fosters collaboration and trust. They will have experience of developing and implementing effective influencing strategies, developing and managing relationships with stakeholders and managing people and projects. They do not need previous experience of working for a funder in a grant making role.

The Campden Charities is a permanently endowed trust assisting individuals on the lowest incomes in the old parish of Kensington.  The area is one of extreme contrasts and includes neighbourhoods with significant levels of deprivation and need. The Charities awards grants totalling more than £2 million each year via programmes focused on helping individuals on very low incomes to move on in their lives be it through education, training or otherwise supporting employment.

We seek applicants who have an understanding of, and empathy towards, supporting unemployed or low-income individuals and families to improve their financial circumstances. Additional information

Place of work: 27a Pembridge Villas, London W11 3EP.  Some outreach work will be expected ranging from one-off events to placements within local organisations or community centres. 

Salary: £31,000 - £34,000 dependent on experience (generous 10% employer's pension contribution rising to 15%  after five years)

Hours of work: 37½ hours, Monday to Friday.  The usual working hours for this post are 9.00 am – 5.00 pm. Some start time flexibility could potentially be offered post-induction/training.

Holiday: 28 days per annum + Bank Holidays.

Training: Training and support in post is provided on an on-going basis and training in specific areas will be offered as need and interest arise. Following successful completion of the six-month probationary period undertaking a Level 3 QCF qualification in Advice and Guidance is mandatory.  There will also be an opportunity to undertake Level 4. Summary of the role:

The UK Programmes Officer will provide a mixture of administration and project support to the UK Programmes Manager. The role will primarily focus on project document collation, identifying funding opportunities, outreach events and UK organisations that Muslim Aid (MA) can partner in support of our strategy. 1. Collaborate with the UK Programmes Manager to develop ideas into executable projects in line with the workplan.
2. Identify UK funding opportunities and their viability for grant distribution that align with MA’s thematic areas and governance requirements.
3. Oversee the coordination of project implementation plans and monitor deliverables, following up with stakeholders to ensure they remain on time.
4. Track project expenditures highlighting possibilities of over/underspend to budget holder.
5. Ensure all policies, practices and procedures are followed in implementation of all projects.
6. Analyse government institutions and relevant bodies research, reports and statistics to enhance UK Programmes and strategy.

We are looking for an experienced grants fundraiser to join us and make a significant impact on our work with young people in central Doncaster. 

We are currently finalising our next Forward Plan, with an ambition to create an inclusive, vibrant community, committed to everyone having a fair chance to discover who they are and what they can become.  We currently work with children and young people aged 5 to 30. 

Our priority programmes include support coaching for young people, community activity sessions, sustaining our accommodation provision for vulnerable young adults and establishing how we can best support more young people on the homelessness pathway.  We have some great spaces that are in need of development, and we expect that both capital and revenue funding will be included in your workload. We also look for smaller grants during the course of the year, including for food for our residents and supplies for our art groups, and we hope to recruit volunteers to assist with the smaller and less complex bids.

Main Responsibilities

• To work delegated idea notes into fundable project profiles, each with a clear and compelling case for support.
• To create a clear and compelling case for support for unrestricted grants income.

Person Specification

• A recent track record of success in securing funding through written bids (five figures plus) in an employed role focused on grants or similar fundraising. 
• Experience covering the full cycle of grants fundraising including creating cases for support, submitting applications, responding to requests for information or visits, monitoring and evaluation.
• An understanding of the current UK grants / trusts climate and the types of funders likely to support YMCA Doncaster’s work. 
• Self-motivated and self-supporting, with the ability to work independently and deal with unexpected or challenging situations including short-notice opportunities.

Connected Futures is Youth Futures’ systems change programme. It aims to foster joined-up solutions to the complex issues and barriers facing disadvantaged young people.

We are looking for a capable, proactive person to support the overall programme management approach for Connected Futures. The Senior Programme Support Officer will support the Head of Programmes to develop and deliver an approach to programme and project management across Connected Futures. The postholder will take the lead on specific tasks, and coordinate the work of the wider cross-organisational Connected Futures team.

You will liaise with external partners and stakeholders, as well as supporting multiple internal customers and workstreams, often to tight deadlines. You will support key external and internal engagement processes, working with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of meetings and capture key decisions and inputs to feed back into programme delivery.

This is primarily a project management role, enabling a cross-functional team to work effectively and efficiently together on a complex, fast-moving and high profile programme. As well as dealing with tasks as they emerge, you will work across the team to keep track of progress, identifying any issues and risks, and enabling the Head of Programmes and other internal stakeholders to gain an overview of the programme as a whole.

This role is fixed term to January 2026 and can be based at any of our hubs located in London, Birmingham or Leeds.  We currently operate a hybrid model of two-days per week in the office and three-days from home.

The Education & Training Manager will be responsible for grant managing the day-to-day aspects of commissioned Education and Training programmes.

They will work with partner organisations to create tailored training plans, and commission education and training programmes to deliver those plans.  They will monitor training program effectiveness, manage related funding budgets, and stay updated on relevant training trends. 

They will support the Head of Education and Training with the ongoing development of GambleAware’s approach to education and training of professionals across the sector and in adjacent sectors. Assisting in the identifying and assessing relevant training needs of professionals working with people experiencing gambling harm.

Working across the organisation with colleagues to identify education and training needs arising from new research, new stakeholder groups, policy change, advancements in treatment or legislative changes, for example. Supporting matrix working both in their capacity of managing and supporting programmes of work.

Part 1: Role Purpose: 

The purpose of this role is to lead improvements in the financial management of Street Child’s partner, Street Child of Liberia (SCoL), a national education and child protection organisation with nationwide presence and annual budget of up to $1m. The role holder will also manage Street Child’s financial reporting and compliance requirements in delivering programmes in Liberia. 

The role will report to Street Child’s West Africa Regional Finance Manager, with oversight of Street Child of Liberia’s finance team, and a close working relationship with SCoL SMT, Street Child’s Freetown based Head of Sierra Leone / Liberia Programmes and Monrovia based Programmes Officer.

The role provides financial oversight of programmes in Liberia, facilitating accurate and timely donor reporting, strong budget management and excellent record keeping. Key aspects of this role include: improve financial management and reporting systems; ensure a strong control environment and maintain strong record keeping; empower programmes and leadership teams to have strong financial management and grant management capabilities. The role also serves as a link between Street Child of Liberia and Street Child UK, delivering monthly requisitions, annual budget information and other information as required, with scope to extend support across Street Child’s regional programmes portfolio as required. 

Part 2: Key Responsibilities: 

1) Ensure robust financial management and reporting systems to facilitate accurate donor reporting, strong budget management and transparency for budgeting (40%) 

• Ensure that all staff are using the QuickBooks finance system in place at Street Child of Liberia to provide accurate and timely recording of transactions – providing training, review, support and direct input as needed. 

• Ensure that all month end processes are carried out in a timely manner including month end closure processes, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and generating reports 

• Providing reliable donor reports, Budget vs Actual reports to the Director and Programmes staff to facilitate good planning and anticipation of any changes needed to programmes delivery. 

• Ensure that donor expenditure is recorded accurately and finance reports are of high quality with full supporting transaction listings reconciled to the finance system and delivered to deadlines in accordance donor requirements. Report on all costs incurred both at Street Child of Liberia and Street Child HQ. 

• Preparation of all donor reports, working with Partner Finance team and programmes staff as needed to ensure that they are delivered on time and with appropriate sign off. 

• Support donor due diligence and donor audits by provision of information required. 

• Provide input as necessary for all donor budget proposals, ensuring that costs requested are complete and reasonable seek approval for all donor proposal budgets before they are submitted to donors 

• Facilitate the year end audit, over-setting the end to end of the annual audit process. 

2) Strengthening the control environment and record keeping (30%) 

• Review and assess the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend changes and improvements as required , and review any improvements in internal controls recommended by auditors or donors. 

• Work with colleagues to devise a delivery plan to ensure that improvements are met, and support the delivery of that plan. 

• Strong financial procedures are in place to accompany all payments and improvements are made to the payments system including in particular justifying the use of cash and advances. 

• Ensure appropriate bank & cash management procedures are in place and operating effectively, including bank reconciliations for all accounts, cash counts and cash transfers to field sites. 

• Ensure robust procurement processes are in place and being followed, working with the procurement team to make any changes needed and ensure that all staff are clear on the required procurement process. 

• Developing Financial management tools, including policies and procedures as required. 

• Ensure that monthly requisitions (the process for requesting monthly transfers from HQ) are robust, evidence based and submitted on time each month. 

• upcoming up with an annual budget, approved in accordance with SC budget timetable, working with the Senior West Africa Finance Manager to develop consistent templates to use in each template. 

• Regularly advise and provide support on other issues as the need arises. 

3) Participate in finance related meetings and initiatives for all SCoL programmes, providing budget and financial guidance, including provision of training to colleagues (10%) 

• To ensure the smooth-running of the programme with respect to its financial obligations. 

• Compliance with the organisational procedures; quality of budget monitoring; quality of the budgets drawn up; quality of financial reports for donors; anticipation of financial problems. 

• Provide BVAs every month by the 10th of M+1 of all contracts. 

• Plan and lead the BVA analysis meetings every month before the 15th. 

• Ensure coherency between the programme budget and the donors' budgets. 

• Procedures so as to ensure a realistic budget, accurate expenditure codification and robust budgetary steering. 

• Draw up and monitor cost allocation tables for office and staff costs. 

• Conduct the monthly, bi-annual and annual accounts closing operations · Raise programme teams' awareness of contractual budget and financial obligations. 

• Analyse donor guidelines and inform the teams about these procedures and their application. 

• Train programme teams in internal budget and financial management. 

• Check the budgetary monitoring of the funding schedule. 

• Substantiate the financial accounts with regard to local legislation.

• Monitor and organise internal and external audits, assume the role of the auditor's primary contact in liaison with head office. 

4) Working with the finance team (10%) 

• Train the finance team. 

• Set up communication and coordination mechanisms for the team. 

• Manage contractual monitoring (leave, end of trial periods, etc.) of finance team members; if necessary, co-validate disciplinary procedures with Operations Manager. 

• Oversee finance team's career development: define training needs and provide guidance on professional development. 

5) A liaison and link with Street Child UK Finance team to enable management of operations in Liberia (10%) 

• Develop the annual budget for Liberia, which includes costs budget, programmes costs, cash flow forecasting. 

• Enter Street Child of Liberia costs on the HQ finance system (Aqilla) and ensure that all monthly transfers to Street Child of Liberia are fully accounted for and reconciled.
