Global Greengrants Fund (GGF) supports grassroots activists and civil society organisations around the world working to address environmental and social justice in over 160 countries.  GGF applies a participatory and decentralised model in making grants to grassroots groups through regional and thematic boards of advisors, global partner networks and independent funds, to support grassroots environmental and social justice action.

Global Greengrants Fund comprises two organisations located in the USA, Global Greengrants Fund Inc (established in 1993), and Global Greengrants Fund UK (established in 2012). The two organisations work closely together with a shared grantmaking programme and strategic collaboration at the senior leadership level. GGF UK consists of thirteen staff members working on fundraising and influencing philanthropy; finance; communications; and operations, with all of these functions operating autonomously but in close collaboration with their US counterpart functions.

The Programme Funding Manager needs to understand the challenges and opportunities that come with these transformations and can remain flexible, steady, and adaptable.

The Role

The Programme Funding Manager provides cross-team support to strengthen the organisation’s funding and budget management functions and ensure the successful delivery of GGF’s grantmaking and other programmatic activities. This includes collaborating with multiple teams within GGF UK and GGF US including the Programmes, Grants Management, Finance and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to design and implement systems, processes and improvements to ensure high quality budget management and high standards of donor and regulatory compliance across all funded activity.

The role is responsible for the budget management of all GGF UK-funded programmatic activities, working with Programmes colleagues, Advisory Board representatives, donor relationship managers, Finance staff and others to ensure funds are spent appropriately in line with project plans and donor obligations.

The candidate profile

The ideal candidate for this role will have substantial experience in a similar capacity within charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, or human rights organisations, particularly in an international setting. They will be adept at enhancing collaboration across multiple functional teams, including those operating internationally, to ensure effective and compliant funding and budget management, especially with restricted income. The candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in designing, managing, and refining systems and processes for better budget management and donor compliance in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Their experience should include managing large, multi-year programmatic budgets exceeding $5 million and ensuring adherence to donor agreements and regulatory requirements, such as those of the Charity Commission.

Job Description 

The Finance Manager is responsible for the management and technical support of the Finance function and acts as advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and assists in the development of the organisation’s financial strategy, modelling new projects, preparing budgets and reporting on financial performance. 

You will also be responsible for maintaining accounts on Xero and all related bookkeeping tasks.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Responsibility for bookkeeping on the organisation’s accounting system (Xero);

• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly management accounts for the organisation and individual cost centres, including variance analysis and reports for the Board. This information should include a short narrative on the current position, future prospects, and financial risks and opportunities. The reports will be tailored as necessary for the Board and management; 

• Provide robust financial information including accurate balance sheets and a rolling cash flow forecast; 

• Act as key point of contact for project budget holders on financial matters;

• Carry out regular reviews of spending under various grants, alerting budget holders and CEO to any actual or potential over or underspend;

• Work with CEO and managers on fundraising bids and financial reports for funders;

• Produce statutory accounts, files and schedules, in partnership with the3million’s accounting firm; 

• Monitor records of all funding and funding sources and the appropriate allocation of incoming funding;

• Monitor monthly accrual of income and expenditure, deferral of income, maintenance of reconciliation to Xero, balance sheet changes and undertake bank reconciliations;

• Monitor the accounts mailbox and ensure invoices are included in the accounting system, answering internal and external queries as they arise;

• Act as main point of contact with banks, service providers, suppliers (when appropriate) and auditors;

• Other duties as requested by the CEO.

Person Specification

The post requires the holder to:

• Have an appropriate accounting qualification – in full or part (AAT, ICAEW, CIMA or ACCA);

• Have a minimum of three years of professional experience, including experience of operating within a not-for-profit organisation (managing accounts for restricted and unrestricted funds);

• Be proficient in Xero Online accounting software and Excel spreadsheets, including experience in using Power Query;

• Be comfortable with the financial systems typical of a small organisation, including financial monitoring and reporting to a range of different funding sources;

• Have some experience of projects finances and understand the financial implications behind an efficient delivery strategy;

• Be honest and reliable;

• Ability to work on own initiative when appropriate and seek guidance when necessary;

• Commitment to the values of a small organisation that works on social justice issues;

• In support of EU citizens in the UK;

We are looking for an experienced Programme Manager to lead life-changing projects that bring hope to the world’s most vulnerable children.

As a Senior Programme Manager (SPM), you will be pivotal in managing a diverse portfolio of institutional donor-funded programmes, including commercial contracts and grants. Working alongside World Vision National Offices and key implementing partners, you will ensure that programmes are effectively delivered on time, within budget, and in line with donor expectations. We are looking for a strong leader with proven experience managing large, complex programmes funded by institutional donors such as the UK Government or the EU, ideally in fragile or conflict-affected areas.

Expertise in managing consortium-led programmes, commercial contracts, and payment-by-results initiatives is essential.

Key skills required for this role:

• Outstanding communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to represent World Vision at a strategic level with donors, partners, and other key stakeholders.

The new role of MEAL Officer will undertake high-quality data management and analysis to produce key learnings on the outcomes of our client’s grantmaking and other programmatic activity, as well as leading system improvements for the evolving monitoring, evaluation and learning framework in collaboration with global colleagues.

Providing support to the emerging global Learning function, the role will support the delivery of learning activities across the network to develop clear briefs, learnings and findings that can be used by other functions, including the Communications and Philanthropic Partnerships teams, to strengthen the organisation’s external and internal engagement and knowledge sharing activities.

• Contribute to global programme strategy development and support advisory boards with data analysis to assist with advisory board strategy development:
• Making recommendations for the UK and/or global organisation on MEAL infrastructure, ensuring tools are fit for purpose and appropriate to context through review and revision:
• Work with Programmes colleagues to understand barriers to grantee reporting; developing creative solutions to track grantee outcomes and long-term change.
• Data entry of all UK grants made for audited accounts, and annual analysis and data visualizations for audited accounts, and global analyses for the annual report.

Position Specifications:

• Commitment to a value-based intersectional framework and its implications for organizational practices and principles of anti-oppression.
• Significant relevant experience in a similar role undertaking monitoring, evaluation, learning and data analysis in a charitable, environmental, development, social justice, feminist, gender, human rights organisation, and/or grantmaking organisation.
• A strong track record in data collection, monitoring and analysis, with good working knowledge of a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, tools and systems, and in using this information to evaluate and recommend adaptations, and in reporting.
• Higher-level qualifications/certification in a relevant field, post-graduate qualification (e.g. MSc, PhD) preferred, particularly in the social sciences and/or use of mixed method approaches
• Author of MEAL-related reports, either organisational reports or academic publications
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and improve the process of data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience in managing datasets, databases, programming, and other analysis software.

Our staff have the choice to work wholly or partly from home or from our office in Tooting, SW London, during regular operational hours (08:30–17:30). If working from home, staff must have a working environment suitable for holding video-call meetings/training sessions with clients. 

Wherever you work, you will interact regularly with senior team members to gain new skills and exchange ideas.

Salary and annual leave 

Salary will depend on qualifications and experience but is expected to be between £35,000 and £38,000 p/a (depending on experience). Annual leave is 25 days per year plus public holidays (33 days).

PWS is a complex genetic disorder characterised by low muscle tone and failure to thrive at birth, and later evidence of short stature, intellectual disabilities, behavioural and psychiatric challenges and impaired satiety.

IPWSO is the international umbrella body for PWS associations around the world with 47 full paying country members and contacts in over 120 countries. We are committed to supporting people with PWS and their families whatever their needs and wherever they live.

Main purpose and scope of role

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.

· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

· Provide support and information to the Board of Trustees to enable trustees to fulfil their roles and legal responsibilities.

· Pursue close cooperation with, and accountability to, IPWSO’s members.

· Act as an ambassador for IPWSO by representing IPWSO at events and networking to build new strategic relationships.

· Keep abreast of relevant new research, treatment recommendations and service developments for people with Prader-Willi syndrome.

Governance

· Strive to ensure that IPWSO has governance systems in place that enable it to consistently fulfil its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities.

· Maintain awareness of risks and changes in the external environment that could affect IPWSO and advise the Board of Trustees accordingly.

· Together with the President manage complaints (including from whistle-blowers) and recommend actions to the Board of Trustees

Finance and Fundraising

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to ensure the overall financial health and sustainability of IPWSO.

· Work with the Treasurer and the Finance Committee to prepare budgets for review by the Board of Trustees and to enable IPWSO to operate within its financial means.

· Seek to ensure that appropriate financial reports are submitted to the Charity Commission and other entities as required.

· Support the work of the Fundraising Committee and strive to ensure a sustainable income from both IPWSO members and individual, corporate, philanthropic and government donors.

· Build relationships with potential donors and prepare funding proposals.

· Seek to provide high quality support to existing donors, by means including the preparation of regular reports and updates.

· Seek out and build new income streams.

Following the successful application of a National Lottery award, we are seeking two dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Group Development Officers to set up and sustain local peer support groups for people living with and affected by prostate cancer. These roles focus on building on our established networks to expand peer support in defined areas, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery through strategic outreach and resource development.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of individuals living with and affected by prostate cancer, providing crucial support through community-based initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Group formation and support: Oversee the setup and operation of 10-12 self-sustaining and independent peer support groups within your assigned region across the lifetime of the three-year project. Support existing group leaders and organisers to reach more people living with and affected by prostate cancer with tools and resources.
• Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and support volunteer Support Group Leaders. Assist in the co-production of training materials and resources, aimed at creating self-sustainable groups.

Single Friendly Church Network encourages churches to welcome and value single people at every stage of life. We are experiencing an exciting new chapter where our work and influence is growing across a wide range of denominations. We want to reach more churches across the UK who could benefit from our resources and training, with the vision that all single Christians will be able to find a welcoming Single Friendly Church in their local area where they can flourish.

Fundraising Consultancy Role

In order to achieve our objectives, we are seeking a Fundraising Consultant to develop and implement a strategy to:

• Diversify our funding base and raise new grants and donations to support our work;
• Raise specific funding to develop a small team of Regional Champions in the regions of the UK, working part-time to grow our network of Single Friendly Churches;
• Secure grant support to refresh our research in order to identify the issues facing single people in the Church and how ‘single friendly’ churches are across the UK.

The Fundraising Consultant will regularly engage with our UK based team and provide quarterly reports to our Trustees. Ideally the Consultant will have the necessary skills to process Gift Aid claims.

The target for funds raised within 12 months is £100K. This will require creativity and a range of initiatives, targeting different potential funding sources.

The daily rate is negotiable, based on the experience and qualifications of the bid writer. Additionally, there is the possibility of a commission or performance-based incentive for successfully securing large grants. This will be agreed upon in the contract negotiations.
