Martingale exists to fund and support the next generation of STEM leaders. As the Foundation prepares to recruit its third cohort of Scholars, we need an organised and proactive individual to take on the administrative work needed to support our growth.

You will work closely with the Head of Strategy and Operations on a day-to-day basis to ensure the Foundation’s operational functions run smoothly. Your role will include minuting meetings, diary management, booking travel and accommodation for the team, applicants and Scholars, and overseeing expenses claims for applicants and Scholars. Your role will include regular travel to accompany Martingale’s CEO on partnership meetings, as well as supporting assessment centres across the UK.

You will work collaboratively with the wider team in support of our recruitment campaigns, assessment centres and events, and play a key role in our work to ensure family income is not a barrier to postgraduate study.

StandOut Coach (based in prison)

As a StandOut Coach, you will be attached to one of the three London male prisons we partner with but can expect to work in all of them. You will work alongside a Lead Coach to deliver the StandOut Programme. The programme is delivered in two parts: first an intensive group course in prison, followed by ongoing support of participants whilst they wait for release, through one-to-one coaching and workshops.

You will be key to StandOut’s unique through-the-gate approach, supporting men as they prepare for release and working closely with the Community Team as they support people to find the stability they need to realise their potential, achieve their goals and rebuild their lives after prison. 

This role would be ideal for someone with a good understanding of the challenges faced by those caught up in the criminal justice system, gained either working in prison, through personal experience or by a range of work outside prison.

Day-to-day responsibilities will see you travel across the UK to universities and other higher education settings, presenting to students about Project Play - our longstanding, impactful volunteer projects. The role will enable you to manage both UK and international events and you'll work collaboratively across our small team to achieve and exceed targets.

Our partners are based across the UK, so you will need a full, clean driving licence and access to a car. There will be an opportunity to travel to Uganda/Kenya for up to three months of the year. THE OPPORTUNITY

THE ROLE – EMPLOYMENT ADVISORS

The new Employment Advisors (EAs) will work within the West London NHS Talking Therapies provision.  They will work one-to-one with a caseload of clients referred by NHS Talking Therapies therapists to find employment, remain in existing work if they are struggling, improve their working environment, return to work following sickness or positively leave or retire from work.

You will primarily fulfil these duties by providing information, as well as advice and guidance to clients who choose to receive employment support.  The work should empower clients to make better decisions about their working lives, as well as communicate better with colleagues and managers in existing roles.  You will also signpost clients to other relevant support agencies, as appropriate.

This role would suit someone with a background in employment support, psychology, counselling, human resources or recruitment.

EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1. Engage a mixed caseload of clients at any given time serving 100-125 per year, with common mental health problems, to establish trusting, collaborative relationships to support them to find new employment or support them in, or to leave, existing employment.  Support will be provided face-to-face in Talking Therapies settings, via secure online meeting platforms or over the telephone.

2. Along with their NHS clinician, assess clients’ support needs with a view to creating, implementing, and adjusting a personalised action plan to help improve clients’ mental health and achieve their stated employment goals.

3. Develop and deliver a range of practical services to support clients to find work, including career guidance, job searching skills, CV preparation, application form completion, interview skills, advice on local labour market opportunities and advice on education and training to further their career.

4. Provide guidance to support clients to stay in existing work, including advice on mental health disclosure, negotiating reasonable adjustments to existing workplaces, creating wellness action plans, and improving productivity, support to return to work after sickness absence or to leave an existing role with dignity, and signpost clients to organisations that can represent them (EAs should only look to represent clients in exceptional circumstances).

5. Facilitate access to other advice in areas such as financial benefits, debt management, food banks and community food outlets and social housing providers, as necessary.

6. Work directly with partners like Jobcentre Plus, other employment providers, employers, trade unions and employment agencies to support clients to stay in employment and secure employment opportunities.

7. Build a constant flow of referrals from the clinical team to ensure a dynamic and mixed caseload.

8. Meet referral and performance targets in line with the specific KPI / SLA requirements of the service.

9. Regularly attend team and other meetings as reasonably expected.

10. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.

11. Update and maintain NHS database (IAPTUS).

12. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.

13. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.

14. Comply with and actively promote all Twining policies and procedures including Equality and Diversity, safeguarding and data protection.

15. Perform other tasks as required by your manager.

The role holder must also:

1. Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check at an Enhanced level.

2. Possess excellent IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software, as well as experience updating and maintaining databases.

3. Maintain accurate and up to date records of activity and outcomes in line with service performance requirements, ensuring the IT database is up to date and paperwork compliant.

4. Receive regular supervision and training to meet individual, team and organization’s needs.

5. Contribute to the development of a service that is locally responsive and supports minority/disadvantaged communities.

Fauna & Flora’s Scotland team is actively working to develop ways to offer further in-depth support to the community groups we work with to address the barriers that they identify and are looking to build our input in the terrestrial sphere, including taking part in conversations around rapidly developing nature finance mechanisms, and increasing our stakeholder network. This is an exciting stage for the team, as we further develop aspirations around land-based community conservation, as well as support the Coastal Communities Network (CCN) on their journey towards independence as a community-governed network. 

This internship is a valuable learning opportunity for someone with an interest in community-led conservation in Scotland. You will work across the Scotland team, engaging with colleagues within the wider Eurasia regional programme and relevant cross-cutting teams, as well as locally-based partners and contacts. You will gain knowledge of the current conservation context in Scotland, increase your understanding of project development within small teams, build your networks and support the planning and running of workshops and events. More specifically, you will play a key supporting role in the development of our work in Scotland through: desk-based research on community-led conservation, updating stakeholder mapping, network research, supporting key meetings, and a review of Scotland’s national and international nature obligations. There is also the opportunity to support the organisation and delivery of the CCN annual gathering in October 2024 and planned community workshops later in the year, as well as to engage in national policy consultations.

We are looking someone who will thrive in a varied and innovative role as a Project Worker in the Adult and Family Learning team working across our centres in Govan and Maryhill (Glasgow) with frequent travel Craigmillar (Edinburgh). The Adult and Family Learning team will work in close collaboration with colleagues at the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The pilot will focus on supporting the parents, carers and families of young people accessing the centres, with the potential for this to extend to wider adults in the community. As a Project Worker you will deliver the programme and support the Adult and Family Learning Manager to plan and develop activities tailored according to and with an understanding of the different communities in which it will be offered. Working with colleagues based at the three centres, you will provide a range of activities which will support parents and carers to support their children in their learning, develop their own skills and knowledge around employment and education, and provide a range of family learning activities to engage the whole family together.

Some out-of-hours work will be required from time to time. Programme delivery staff are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people and families on a regular basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres.

SEO has a long history with our first alumni cohort graduating from the class of 2001. Our role is the nurture relationships with our vast pool of alumni, through an exciting engagement programme which includes industry networking events, social gatherings, newsletters and communications, volunteering opportunities and access to our talent pool. We create avenues for our alumni to stay connected to SEO as well as the broader network and open doors for them in industry. • Alongside the Head of Alumni Relations you will be responsible for managing the creation and delivery of the Monthly newsletter, as an active participant in editorial meetings, you will be responsible for creating content and publishing the monthly newsletter 
• As Comms lead for Social media you will be responsible for posting frequently across Linked In and Instagram to build engagement with our audience on these platforms

This role provides vital administrative and operational support across the Learning department. It plays a key role in supporting efficient planning and delivery of live and digital events. The post is a member of the Learning Operations team who leads on all logistics, systems, policies and compliance relating to the Learning programme and act as a conduit for communications and productive working practices with all other NT departments. There will be scope for the right candidate to solely manage smaller scale events.

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Experience of working in an arts organisation (Inc. Museum/heritage sector)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Forensic Psychologist to support our service based in Croydon. Based at a 27-bed residential property which specialises in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. As a Forensic Psychologist, you will support individuals with specific needs, and offer a level of contact, support, and supervision to support our residents to reintegrate within society. You will be providing psychological assessments and support residents who have multiple and complex needs that need support from our staff teams to meet their personal goals. 

Penrose Croydon: A 27-bed residential property specialising in forensic mental health, complex needs and dual diagnosis. We offer psychologically-informed housing and resettlement support that comes with additional help for individuals’ specific needs. Our forensic mental health step-down services consist of four individual sites which cater for high and medium support for both, men and women.

Shift Pattern: 22.5 hours per week, shift pattern to be agreed. 

This role is the equivalent of NHS band 8B

We are looking for a self-starter who can proactively encourage others, take leadership and ownership for creating a positive psychologically informed environment. You will be able to communicate highly complex and sensitive information effectively and will have a background in a similar role as a Forensic Psychologist. You will also need to be HCPC registered and have post-graduate doctoral level training.

WHAT'S SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES YOU WILL HOLD?

• Provide advice and guidance to the wider team on criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to resident/participant behaviours and engagement.
• Provide highly specialised psychological assessment for participants/residents with highly complex conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of data from a variety of sources, which may include neuropsychological testing. 
• Exercise full clinical responsibility for resident/participant psychological care as a care coordinator within a multidisciplinary team. 
• Formulate and implement plans for various therapy routes and management of assessing mental health conditions based upon appropriate conceptual frameworks and evidence-based practice.
• Discuss and negotiate care plans with all relevant internal and external parties.
• Undertake highly skilled evaluations and make decisions about treatment options and provide guidance and consultation to other parties contributing to the resident/participant’s diagnosis, formulation, and intervention plan.
• Facilitate one to one and group workshops and interventions, workshops, PIE training, and support with implementation plans across the organisation.
• Ensure all work carried out is compliant with Health and Safety, CPD activities and HCPC requirements.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Post-graduate doctoral level training in Applied Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPD (or equivalent awarding body)
• HCPC registration as an applied Psychologist with chartered status
• Previous experience working as a qualified forensic psychologist, including working with people with complex backgrounds/needs and a good understanding of the sector
• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
• Ability to teach, train, consult, and deliver clinical supervision
• Understanding of criminology, psychology, and behavioural patterns, and how they link to different behaviours and engagement
• Ability to understand and apply safeguarding protocols as they arise
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
