About you:
- Experience of supporting clients to carry out tasks such as budgeting, calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears and housing options.
- Experience of working in a client-centred support service working with clients presenting significant levels of need and risk, with an ability to devise and deliver on action plans through high quality risk management and needs assessment.
- A demonstrable level of experience and understanding of the range of approaches appropriate to working with multi disadvantages such as substance misuse, mental and physical ill health, dual diagnosis, challenging behaviour, risk of homelessness, offending, antisocial behaviour, social isolation, domestic violence, gang-related issues, young parents, leaving care and learning disabilities.

Our client is now recruiting for a Research Fellow to support their Program Directors and governmental partners by providing comparative research that will help shape programs and guide development strategies. Key responsibilities include working with the Program teams to develop reliable, actionable research on human capital challenges facing our government partners in Africa. You will research and identify vendors and consultants who can provide technical support, conduct desktop reviews for country scoping missions, and research and prepare briefings on partners, policies, demographics, and governance matters. In addition you will review existing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and performance management dashboards and help evaluate program proposals and concepts notes by researching assumptions and theories of change.
The successful candidate will have excellent research, data and analytical skills having worked previously in a research role. You will have experience working in international development, public health, econometrics, data science or a similar field and will ideally have some experience of living or working within sub-Saharan Africa (although not essential). You will bring a strong work ethic and have excellent people skills, including communication and presenting skills. You will also have skills and experience working alongside external partners. It would be preferable for the successful candidate to have a graduate degree in econometrics, public health, data science, or a related field however we would also consider candidates who are qualified through their work experience.

As a Habilitation Specialist, you'll deliver specialist mobility and independence training to children and young people, helping them build the skills they need to navigate the world. You'll assess individual needs, develop tailored habilitation programmes, and work closely with families, schools, and professionals to provide ongoing support. Whether you're teaching one-to-one or running group sessions alongside colleagues, your work will make a real difference.
You'll need to be highly organised, managing your own diary and prioritising children based on their needs. Covering a predominantly rural area, this role involves regular travel, with flexibility required to provide occasional cover across Torbay, Plymouth, or Cornwall. You'll work independently much of the time but will also be a valued part of a supportive team, attending meetings in Exeter and staying connected through technology and in-person collaboration.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to hold the Habilitation and Disabilities of Sight Graduate Diploma (IOE) and one or more of the following qualifications: BSc Hons Top-up Degree in Habilitation Studies (BCU Birmingham City University), Rehabilitation Officer Diploma / Advanced Certificate in Education (ACE) – Working with Children with Visual Impairment, or another nationally recognised qualification in habilitation training for children and young people with visual impairment.
If you hold a Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation Work (Visual Impairment) or a Diploma in Higher Education in Rehabilitation Studies, you'll need to demonstrate a commitment to further study to achieve full habilitation accreditation.
Experience working with children and young people aged 0–25 years is essential, and you'll also need to be registered with an appropriate professional body upon appointment (registration fees funded by Guide Dogs). A full UK driving licence or an alternative means of meeting the travel requirements is required.
This role involves significant travel covering a large rural area in all weather conditions, handling specialist equipment, and delivering practical habilitation training, so resilience and adaptability are key. This is a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference.

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Client Services Team which operates within HBF’s vibrant, multi-disciplinary team. The duties of Client Services Administrator are two-fold 1) is to host our busy reception area and friendly waiting room; welcome clients and visiting professionals to the Helen Bamber Foundation and attend to any needs they might have and 2) to oversee the booking of appointments between clients and staff/volunteers across the organisation; liaising with third parties and clinicians in relation to Initial Assessments; booking and managing doctor’s diaries for our Medical Advisory Services and the booking of interpreters across the organisation. You will be at the heart of an exciting team of experts, working as the face of HBF and the first point of contact for both external and internal queries. You will be a self-motivating team player, organised, efficient and have a compassionate mind-set.
The role will work closely with the other person in post as Client Services Administrator and jointly manage the workload. The role also includes assistance and general facilities support to the Senior Operations and HR Coordinator.

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in two of our schools in Hackney and Highbury currently delivering our Gateway programme and moving to our new Accelerate programme next school year.
