The British Society for Immunology (BSI) is recruiting a Marketing & Communications Officer to deliver engaging communications to a variety of audiences to drive the reach and influence of the Society’s work.
This role is split equally between supporting activities of the BSI and those of our publishing portfolio. On the BSI side, you will support in the development and delivery our marketing and communications activity through a variety of channels. Activities can include promoting our membership offering to immunologists working in academia, industry and the clinical sector, promoting key activities such as our events or training offerings, and supporting initiatives to raise the importance and influence of immunology. On publishing, marketing activities will be focused on increasing submissions and readership of our official journals, Clinical & Experimental Immunology, Immunotherapy Advances and Discovery Immunology, in particular building the reputation of our newer Open Access journals.
This creative role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills and a passion for science, who is looking to build their expertise and experience working on impactful marketing and communications projects in an innovative charity.

This is a permanent role working 35 hours per 5-day week. However, the British Society for Immunology is currently participating in a 4-day week pilot, which sees staff work 32 hours over 4 days. This role will be eligible to opt in to participate in this pilot. The role is based remotely, with office space available in London two days a week. Occasional travel into London is required.

About the Role
You will be a Registered Nurse with a current Nursing and Midwifery Council Pin and will share our vision of making choice a reality for everyone. You will be provided with a bespoke training package tailored to your clinical experience to equip you in delivering safe and effective abortion care to our clients.
We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and committed Registered Nurse to join our team within our Essex clinic. Working in the Essex clinic, you will have access to onsite parking, good public transport links, and become part of an experienced nurse-led team which focusses on colleagues personal development and training in a supportive well-established and clinically developed environment. You can expect to work in a hands-on, fast-paced, dynamic setting where you will be encouraged and empowered to develop and strengthen your clinical and professional skills.
You can expect to work in a centre that performs both Early Medical Termination of Pregnancy (EMA) up to 9 weeks and 6 days, in addition to Surgical Termination of Pregnancy (SToP) up to 23 weeks and 6 days (legal limit) whilst providing contraception services to those who request it.
There is an expectation, once fully trained, to travel and work independently in our community treatment centres in Southend, Dagenham, Romford and Colchester. Training to become fully competent in the role takes approximately 6 months – 1 year.

The University of Essex is excited to have formed a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the Minstead Trust. The Minstead Trust is a charity based in Hampshire, which works in collaboration with people with learning disabilities and their family carers, to enable them to achieve greater independence and live happier and healthier lives. One of their main areas of work is accommodation support. As they transition into adult accommodation support services, adults with a learning disability, their family carers, and Minstead Trust accommodation support staff form a tripartite relationship through which support is planned and delivered within the Minstead Trust. However, to date practices in support provision have differed, leading to miscommunications, relationship difficulties, and some areas of inconsistency and discontinuity in provided support and living circumstances. There are also often difficulties experienced during the transition from child to adult learning disability services. These are sector wide issues, which ultimately impact service users’ participation in the various activities and occupations that provide meaning, purpose, and routine within their everyday lives.
The KTP will last for 24 months and utilise a participatory action research (PAR) approach to engage relevant stakeholders who comprise and surround the tripartite relationship described above. Together they will co-produce, implement, and evaluate distinct new ways of working. These new ways of working will revolutionise engagement between adults with learning disabilities, their family carers, and Minstead Trust staff, and lead to improved experiences for all stakeholders.
As a KTP, the KTP Associate role constitutes more than just the completion of a research project, as the focus of the role is to facilitate knowledge transfer between the University and the Minstead Trust. A key objective is that the KTP also embeds the capability of co-production within the Minstead Trust through staff engagement and support. Co-production involves partnership working towards a mutually defined aim, where everyone connected with an issue plays an active part, and existing skills, experience and knowledge are valued and utilised (Pettican et al, 2022).

SV 2 has been supporting victims and survivors of sexual abuse since 1994, and today provides a range of services to anyone in Derbyshire or Derby City who has experienced sexual abuse, assault or violence, including friends and family members. We support people irrespective of age, gender or when the abuse occurred.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Therapy Delivery Manager to join our friendly, professional and passionate team, working across Derbyshire remotely and in person. You'll manage our BACP accredited therapy service, which provides therapy for people of all ages, delivered by a team of employed therapists and a pool of self-employed counsellors.
You might be the right person for the role if you have:
- Management qualification minimum level 4
- A minimum 3 years’ experience in managing and supporting staff to deliver services effectively
- A proven track record working in a quality assurance role including data collection, analysis and problem solving
- Knowledge, experience and awareness of rape and sexual abuse and their effects
- Brilliant communication skills including an ability to provide effective feedback, negotiate well and work with others, including funders
- Full driving licence and ability to travel across the county on a regular basis
