We are seeking a Risk and Internal Audit Manager to lead our risk management and internal audit initiatives. This critical role involves developing a robust risk management framework, conducting thorough internal audits, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of humanitarian issues and standards, including codes of conduct and accountability principles, and possess a working knowledge of French or Spanish. About you
You are a highly skilled professional with a Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (CIA) certification or a full CCAB qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA). Your extensive experience in risk management and internal audit, particularly within an international NGO or a similar environment, equips you with the necessary expertise to excel in this role. You are a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels. About the role
As the Risk and Internal Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in fortifying our organisation by overseeing both risk management and internal audit operations. You will develop and manage CARE International UK’s risk management framework, maintain and update the organisation’s risk register, and provide regular risk management reports. You will also develop and execute an annual internal audit plan, ensuring compliance with recognised auditing standards. Your role involves coordinating with various CARE entities and overseeing specialist audits in areas like cybersecurity and GDPR. International travel will be required to support CARE International UK funded programmes.

About you
To succeed, you’ll need to be experienced in data quality and implementing operational procedures to maintain high standards of data quality and have worked as a help desk technician or a similar customer support role. You should be analytical, solution orientated and able to communicate technical information to a non-technical client team audience, you have a good understanding of relevant legislation and regulations relating to supporter data too (e.g., GDPR, PECR and the Fundraising Code of Practice). You’re also great at diagnosing basic technical issues likely to affect users of Microsoft Dynamics 365 and have had some exposure to the Microsoft Power Platform suite, in particular Dynamics and Power Automate/Flow.

About the team
This role sits within the Business Enablement team within Shelter’s Technology & Data (T&D) Department, which is made up of 30+ people based across the country with bases in London, Sheffield, and Edinburgh. Growing Well is a farm-based mental health charity originating on Low Sizergh Farm near Kendal and recently expanding to a second site at Tebay Services (Northbound), and a third in Egremont, West Cumbria.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Manager for Growing Well's site at Tebay Services (Northbound) in the Eden Valley, on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
The role of the Manager (Tebay) is to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations at Growing Well’s 1.5-acre Tebay site and ensure that at all times our site is safe, productive, excellently maintained and efficiently run. This includes:
- Safe and efficient service delivery
- Effective delivery of annual crop plan and supply chain management
- Financial management of the Tebay enterprise
- Legal and Health and Safety management of the site
- Manage the delivery of therapeutic activity, skills development and support for up to 100 Volunteers (beneficiaries) per week.
- Line manage Tebay staff team (5 direct reports).
- Manage local fundraising and marketing initiatives with support from Growing Well Development Team colleagues.

You will be responsible for managing the Charity Next Secondment Programme ( a collaborative partnership between the Civil Service Fast Stream and Charities, Not for Profit's and Academia) working collaboratively to maximise secondment engagement between the sectors. You will also manage inwards secondments to member organisations as well as working on and developing new concepts, programmes and solutions to maximise porosity and knowledge sharing. You will work closely with other departments and the wider team to develop and increase both the volume and impact of secondment initiatives. You will do this by leveraging your data-driven and research approach as well as evidencing your strong relationship and stakeholder development skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Prior experience as a programme manager, project manager or similar, client-facing role with a demonstrable track record of excellent customer service.
- Prior experience in internal and external stakeholder management and proven ability to build rapport and liaise with senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering successful and effective business development strategies - with strong outcomes.
- A successful track record of using CRM systems (a plus if it's Dynamics!), Microsoft Forms, and other software applications to help aid decision making, keep on track of KPIs and to ensure strong project management and outcomes.
- Demonstrable aptitude in managing administration and processes including the signing of secondment agreements, onboarding meetings, feedback cycles and regular communication strategies.

What do some of the main role responsibilities look like?

Chief Executive Officer reporting to the Chair of the Ampleforth Abbey Trust
Ampleforth Abbey Trust is looking to appoint a dynamic strategic leader to the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Purpose of the role
The post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leads the works of the Abbey Trust on behalf of the monastic community, providing strategic leadership and managerial oversight of the Trust’s activities. In conjunction with the Chair of the Trust, the post-holder will support the Abbot in ensuring that the needs and ambitions of the monastic community are met, whilst also ensuring that the contents and pace of the Trust’s forward plan align with these needs. The post-holder will work closely with the Abbot to understand fully the needs and plans of the monastery and identify the business challenges and opportunities facing the Trust arising from these.
The post-holder will take the lead in ensuring that staff, volunteers and external stakeholders are engaged in the work of the Trust. They will also maintain a professional relationship with the Head and Bursar of Ampleforth College to ensure effective co-ordination and open communication where necessary.
The CEO is accountable to the Chair of the Ampleforth Abbey Trust and will work in liaison with the Abbot, and the Head and Bursar of Ampleforth College. In addition, they will also work closely with the Co-ordinator of Hospitality and the General Manager to reflect the importance of hospitality, retreatants, groups and general visitors, to the work of the Abbey Trust.
The post-holder will work effectively with all regulatory bodies, particularly the Charity Commission, to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the CEO fall under the headings Strategy, Leadership and Management, with a particular focus on finance.
Strategy
· Developing and leading the implementation of the strategy for the Ampleforth Abbey Trust which supports the needs of the monastic community and the delivery of the Trust’s charitable objects and which has in-built clear key performance measures;
· managing the General Manager and the Finance Manager to ensure the financial sustainability of the Abbey Trust across all of its activities;
· managing the Director of Safeguarding and Wellbeing to ensure that the highest standards of safeguarding are implemented and embedded across all Trust strategies, plans and activities;
