We are a small dynamic team and which takes pride in our forward-thinking and transparent approach and we're seeking a new Programme Manager for current and new work in Sierra Leone and Kenya.

We work with people who are marginalised by society such as through their disability, gender, age, conflict or environment. We tackle the reasons for vulnerability and exclusion, building on the self-reliance and dignity secured through economic solutions to tackle stigma, discrimination and abuse of rights.

The successful Programme Manager will manage current programmes in Sierra Leone (working with a corporate on child labour and strengthening CBOs for more inclusive governance) and support the development of new programmes in Kenya and possibly Tanzania.   The Programme Manager will play a key role in the development of APT Action on Poverty.

Reporting directly to the CEO, your key responsibilities will be: supporting contract delivery and financial management, developing/maintaining donor relationships, seeking new partnerships and project opportunities, proposal development and applications to institutions.

Experience of living and working in East or West Africa, a track record in proposal development and applications to institutions, knowledge of livelihood development and rights based approaches are key areas for this role.

This is a remote role, we meet up once a month in Evesham.  We will also consider applicants who wish to work 80% FTE.

Key Purpose: As the HR Manager you provide and enable a comprehensive, efficient HR service to the charity, while ensuring legal compliance and best practice, and enabling a positive culture driven by ethics and agreed values.

• Enabling and overseeing the employment journey from selection to offboarding.
• Leading the development of appropriate performance evaluation systems and processes.  Providing guidance to managers on performance feedback, coaching and disciplinary actions as necessary.  
• Line management, coaching and development of the Senior HR Advisor.
• Supervising the HR administrative functions, including payroll, benefits and record-keeping.
• Championing a positive and inclusive working environment through the implementation of HR and organisational processes that promote diversity and equality and mitigate bias. 
• Contributing to the development and promotion of employee well-being initiatives.  
• Managing the HR departmental budget effectively, allocating resources efficiently to support HR initiatives and meet organisational goals.

Person Specification:

Essential:

• Proven experience in HR management, preferably in the charity sector or similar non-profit organisation (minimum two years of managerial experience.)
• Current knowledge of Employment Law and predicted trends.
• Level 5 CIPD or equivalent HR related qualification/HR experience. 
• Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude towards all stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with a solution-orientated approach.
• Demonstrable ability to uphold the key principles of HR including confidentiality, fairness, integrity, respect.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Possesses a valid UK driving license.

Desirable:

• Level 7 CIPD or equivalent.
• Background in coaching and mentoring.
• Familiarity with farming practices.
• Skills in process improvement.

Citizens Advice Waltham Forest is a local charity that has been providing advice, information and advocacy services to residents for over 40 years. We deliver our services across the borough in our office, Family Hubs and public buildings like libraries and schools. The role is offered on a self-employed basis and will be suitable for someone who can be flexible. Hours will vary but are likely to be 7 hours per month. 

Role 

The Company Secretary to the board of trustees is there to ensure the smooth running of all governance processes. Working closely with the chair of trustees and elected officers, you will ensure that records are accurate, up to date and well-organised; that agendas and papers are circulated in good time; that all meetings are minuted and minutes are turned around promptly; and that other duties such as sending updates to the Charity Commission and Companies House are carried out. The board meets four times a year; and one sub-committee (the Resources Committee covering finance and personnel), also meets four times a year. There is a Joint Negotiating Committee which meets on an ad hoc basis, and the AGM in January. All these meetings take place in the evening and are diarised a full year ahead. From time to time support for internal meetings may also be required, some of which may take place during office hours.

The role is offered on a self-employed basis. Remuneration is offered at £175 for each full board meeting including the AGM and for each committee meeting; this includes responsibility for all aspects of preparation and meeting follow up as described in the job description.

About this role

Following the significant development of EduSpots’ income and activities in the last year, we are looking for an experienced finance and operations professional to provide exceptional support to the Chief Executive Officer, Head of Development, and Head of Operations (Ghana-based) to ensure the development of robust financial and operational systems, policies and processes. 

The candidate can work from any location, but will have a strong knowledge of UK law and charity accounting in an international development charity context. You will be a self-starter, able to work independently on tasks assigned, whilst proactively suggesting improvements to our systems, policies and wider strategic development.

Main duties and responsibilities 

• Work with the UK Finance Officer (volunteer) and Ghana based Finance Manager and Head of Operations to oversee global finances, so that consolidated management accounts and donor financial reports can be produced.
• Support with the roll-out of new accounting software and reviewing intercompany financial processes to ensure accountability and compliance with recognised accounting standards.
• Support with bank account management and reviewing funds transfers.
• In future, possibly manage staff payroll, including tax and pension contributions.
• Oversee the onboarding and screening of new staff, contractors or volunteers in the UK and other locations outside Ghana, including reference checks, criminal records checks, preparing contracts, etc.
• Review and keep organisational policies and procedures (including staff handbook) up to date, staying abreast of any changes in the wider external legal and operating environment. 
• Monitor compliance to organizational policies and escalate compliance and operational risks to the CEO. 
• Monitor and renew insurance cover.
• Support with other tasks related to finance and operations as time permits.

• Qualification in accounting, or working towards one.
• Experience working on finance within an international NGO.
• Knowledge of governance requirements within a UK charity, and of working in compliance with the Charity Commission of England and Wales.

Since 2006, ROLDA has dedicated itself to aiding vulnerable stray animals in Romania, one of Europe s poorer nations. Our EU-standard shelters, inspired by British designs, can house up to 700 stray dogs, providing them with complete veterinary care and preparation for rehoming.
We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. 12.  Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated and adhered to across the organisation.

13.  Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, auditors, and legal advisors.

14.  Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory returns, including annual accounts and reports to the Charity Commission and other relevant bodies.

Financial Planning and Strategy:

15.  To oversee the payroll and ensure that payments and returns to the HMRC are completed as required, including monthly RTI.

Research Manager

This rewarding post oversees the exciting research portfolio of the Psoriasis Association.  You will join at an exciting time with involvement in the updating of the Research Strategy.  The Psoriasis Association is a busy charity who alongside promoting and funding research, offers authoritative, reliable, quality information, advice and support for people whose lives are affected by psoriasis, in addition to raising awareness of psoriasis.

You will oversee all aspects of the research grant award and monitoring process, including managing our panels of lay and peer reviewers, and work alongside the communications department to promote and highlight the research supported and funded by the Psoriasis Association.

Principal Roles:

• Manage the processing of new grant applications, ensuring that the charity continues to attract high quality proposals and achieve high standards in their assessment.  The work required as part of this process includes guidance for applicants, collating all reviewer feedback, undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis of scores and feedback to inform discussion at the meetings of the Medical and Research Committee.

• Work alongside the Communications Department to promote the research funded by the Psoriasis Association.

Key Duties

• To provide support to the Chief Executive and Finance Officer on administering the ongoing awarding and monitoring of Psoriasis Association Grants.

• Work as part of a small team to further the important work of the Psoriasis Association.

• Analyse the impact of Psoriasis Association funded research.

• Update and implement the Psoriasis Association’s Research Strategy.

• Ensuring compliance with the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) membership criteria. 

Person Specification

• Experience of analysing data and producing quality reports based on findings. 

• Ability to assimilate, summarise and effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of stakeholders. 

• An understanding and commitment to lay involvement in research.

• Have ability to work alone and as part of a small team.

The successful applicant will be expected to promote a positive image of the services the Psoriasis Association offers and assist in the maintenance of good relationships with our members, supporters, fundraisers and all other outside organisations.  The successful applicant will be expected to have high professional standards and engage in and undertake with enthusiasm all opportunities for his/her own training and professional development in order to achieve additional skills as this role develops.

What we need from you

We are looking for an experienced leader and manager who is skilled in building and developing effective relationships with colleagues, particularly with a workforce which is geographically dispersed. Looking for a chance to make a real impact, you will have the desire and passion to drive forward the mission and values of The Advocacy People.

Although this role is predominantly working from home the role does require monthly travel to see our local teams which are currently accross the south of England. You must have access to a stable home broadband service, good mobile signal, a full driving licence and your own transport as well as flexibility with working hours.

· Governance Support: Offer administrative support for trustees, circulate executive reports, plan governance meetings, and review policies.

· Programme Support: provide administrative support to some of the Rank Foundation’s flagship programmes.
