Your role
The role of the Librarian is to care for, develop and promote the library resources of the CMS and the Pioneer Centre in such a way that they are available for all present and likely future needs of the Society’s staff, members and supporters, overseas partner churches and members of the public with identified research interests.

Graduate or equivalent professional qualification in librarianship administration, records management or related fields with experience in computerised systems for library and records management, preferably in the charity and/or university setting. It is also a requirement for this post holder to be in sympathy with CMS’s values and aims.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all residential accommodation is well managed, in accordance with ROSH regulatory standards, decent homes standards and any other relevant legislation.
- Lead the Property team and be a role model, demonstrating Christian values and understand, demonstrate and articulate the Christian ethos at the heart of the organisational work. The post holder must be a Christ-centred individual who is able to put their belief in Christ into action as a leader and as a manager of staff. Provide pastoral signposting to staff as required.
- Coach, manage and develop the Property team to ensure that they have the required skills to deal with enquiries and deliver a high-quality service.
- Manage and direct the activities the Property team in conjunction with the Buildings Managers and to ensure staff are kept up to date with current best practice, professional methodology in accordance with relevant legislation and effective contract management.
- Ensure the effective delivery of the objectives of the Trusts Asset Strategy
In addition, the successful candidate will be a practicing Christian who will create an environment where people feel valued, empowered and equipped to do their best work. The charity, established almost thirty years ago to meet the gap in specialist mental health services, is led by and for women and aims to ensure that women affected by domestic abuse can live a life free from further harm and abuse. We support 900 women and children annually, with an income of £1.04m and 41 staff in 2023/24. Advance has partnered with Catch 22 to deliver services to young victims of crime in London. In recognition of the distinct challenges facing young women and girls (YWG), Advance will deliver a dedicated service to young women and girls (aged 13 to 18) who have been a victim or witness of crime. This is an exciting time to join Advance as we embark on our journey to reach even more young women and girls in need of support using best practice youth, gender, trauma-informed and holistic approaches.
The YWG Victim Service will provide support to YWG across all London boroughs in our safe, YWG-only spaces and in the community. The YWG Victim Service offers specialist support designed to enable YWG to escape harm and to thrive in their lives and aspirations. The YWG Victim Service achieves this by supporting YWG to build confidence, self-esteem and resilience, manage their health and wellbeing and access and engage with other support services.
The Service Manager will lead and manage Advance’s YWG Victim Service, delivering effective management of a team of frontline Advocates, as well as collaborating with Catch 22 to ensure the Advance team and its service delivery are embedded in the wider CYP Victims Services delivered by Catch 22.
About You:
You will have experience of managing frontline staff, supporting them to follow service delivery processes and procedures to ensure effective and safe service delivery to achieve positive outcomes for young women and girls accessing the Victims and Witnesses service. You will have excellent time management skills to ensure service outcomes are monitored and reported on in a timely and effective manner. You will also have excellent communication skills that will allow you to build good working relationships with your team, the wider organisation and external delivery partners. You will be able to reflect and adapt to manage change and enhance working practices, as well as supporting your team through change. You will have an enthusiastic attitude and instil this within your day to day work and interactions with your colleagues and external stakeholders.

Purpose of the Job
Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind run an innovative crisis prevention service designed as a place for children and young people at risk of mental health crises to de-escalate and have access to a skilled staff team to support them. The Circle is open out of hours (3pm-11pm or 12pm-8pm weekends and holidays), 365 days a year, and has been designed to reduce the need for young people to attend A&E. Co-designed by young people, it is a friendly and accessible space.The mental health adviser role is key to the support that children and young people will receive on site, and you will have the opportunity to work with 5-18 year olds, as well as providing signposting and support to parents/carers and other agencies.
This Mental Health Adviser role would suit an experienced Mental Health Youth Worker, CAMHS support worker, Youth Counsellor, Child Wellbeing Practitioner, Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, an Assistant Psychologist with some training in MH interventions like CBT, or other roles that have given you experience and skills in working with Children and Young People presenting with difficulties related to their Mental Health.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team dedicated to providing support to children and young people who are at risk of mental health crisis, or may otherwise attend A&E.
- Offer one to one support via drop in or appointments, and be child-centred in that support.
- Work alongside children and young people, their parents/carers and families in increasing self-management of presenting difficulties.
- Signpost anyone accessing the service to appropriate and local on-going support; and build up your knowledge and networks of such support.
- Understand and implement safeguarding procedures, and be familiar with safeguarding law, and how it applies to our work.
- Follow risk procedures, be familiar with completing risk assessments, and refer to on-call or senior managers appropriately.
You will have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience of supporting children and/young people in a mental health service or similar role in a paid or volunteer capacity, in a 1:1 and group setting
