Our website provides vital advice and support to millions of people affected by dementia and inspires our supporters to be a force for change by campaigning, joining events and fundraising.
We work with people affected by dementia to tell their stories and create content that reflects the full range of their experiences. Informed by user research and analytics, we seek to optimise our digital platforms, making them easier for our audience to understand and use.
As well as designing and optimising web content, the successful candidate will advise colleagues around the organisation on best digital content practices, such as writing for the web, SEO and accessibility. They will collaborate with teams to ensure our digital content always represents the needs of people affected by dementia and our supporters.
This is a homeworking role, but you will be required to travel to attend some meetings and team-days, so you must hold a current UK passport and reside in the UK. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to help deliver SSAFA volunteer support to the serving community.
You will work closely with the Serving Community Manager to develop SSAFA’s support to the serving community through its volunteer delivered Serving Community Teams and the Community Volunteering Service.
You will ensure a safe and quality service is delivered by volunteers, and support them from the recruitment and induction stage through to becoming a fully trained volunteer.

Based in Scotland you will be responsible for maintaining our relationships with the main aplastic anaemia specialist treatment centres in Scotland as well as supporting our Scottish community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing team within The Aplastic Anaemia Trust (AAT). Our team is small, but mighty. Our current Support & Outreach (S&O) team is managed by our S&O Programme Manager and comprises two part-time S&O coordinators who have lived experience of aplastic anaemia. Lived experience is hugely important to us but is not an essential criterion for this role.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity is for a permanent contract, starting immediately, with a six-month probation period. You will work 14 hours a week during core working hours, your working hours can be arranged flexibly to suit you although we will require you to attend staff meetings which take place on Thursday mornings.

The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is the only UK charity providing information, advice and support to people affected by rare disease Aplastic Anaemia. The post holder will lead on the Foundation’s research communications activities, working closely with the Comms and Digital Lead to execute a research communications strategy. Reporting to the Compliance Lead, the Data Protection Adviser will drive the development of an improved Compliance culture throughout the charity whilst ensuring that we adhere to all relevant regulations and laws.
