Rays of Sunshine exits to brighten the lives of seriously ill children aged three to 18 across the UK by granting magical wishes and providing ongoing support within the community. Our work creates a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.

In this role you will be responsible for working across corporate partnerships, major donors, trusts and foundations, with a prominent focus on developing our pipeline of prospects and relationships across corporate partnerships and major donors. The charity has a history of success in these areas and we would love to have someone join the team to build upon this success.

The ideal candidate will be driven and ambitious, with experience in one or more of the above areas but you must have significant experience in developing a pipeline and evidence of securing 5 and 6 figure partnerships or gifts.

With a new fundraising strategy and 3-year income growth plan, and support from the organisation where fundraising is embedded throughout, including a supportive board of Trustees and connectors, you will have plenty of opportunities to build relationships and to be a part of the future success.

We support families across London, Surrey and Sussex whose children are facing cancer or a life-challenging condition. We’re there whatever the outcome, for as long as needed, so that no family has to cope alone.

The charity was founded in 2004 by our now Chief Executive and has grown enormously over that time. We currently have partnerships with 9 hospitals who refer families to us for our support, which ranges from therapies and counselling, to respite holidays and special family experiences.

Position: Corporate Fundraiser

Location: East Molesey office (opposite Hampton Court Station) with some home working

 Main Purpose of the Role

Momentum Children’s Charity’s fundraising team is highly ambitious, driven by our goal to help families of seriously ill children in London, Surrey and Sussex to keep moving forward. Corporate income currently comprises circa 18% of the overall income. But with our expansion in hospital partnership geography, and aspiration to provide support to more families in the future, the expansion of this income stream will be key to this growth.

Working with the Corporate Partnerships Lead, this person will enjoy helping to develop all facets of the corporate fundraising area, working with and forging relationships with businesses to develop opportunities, fundraising and charitable giving, provide outstanding stewardship and relationship management, as well as helping to research and grow a healthy, robust pipeline of new opportunities.

• Work with the Corporate Lead to maximise current and new income, to ensure delivery of the annual target
• Provide a high level of partnership management through stewardship, and effective and regular communications
• Generate, develop, and implement ideas and opportunities to maximise partnerships for the benefit of the entire organisation, including fundraising, pro bono support, volunteering, and gifts in kind
• Support on the development and management of new corporate partners as assigned by the Corporate Lead

• Manage and oversee the administration linked to corporate fundraising, ensuring information is entered and updated accurately onto the database system.

Kingston Charitable Foundation (Kingston CF) is growing - in 3 years we’ve doubled our staff team thanks to a grant from the City Bridge Foundation and to date we’ve awarded over 130 grants to local charities, and community groups, who share our vision to build stronger communities where everyone’s needs are met.  We are a Place Based Giving scheme that is part of the London Funders movement.

As an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts or corporate partnerships at the four figure level, you’ll have a can-do attitude and a capability for developing strong networks and contacts.

You will be outcome orientated and a motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills too.

Experience

• At least three years of proven successful experience in major gifts or corporate partnerships fundraising of four figures or more.
• Proven ability to manage and develop diverse relationships.

• Experience in writing and delivering persuasive copy for supporters.

Kingston CF have no formal offices, this role is primarily home-based, with meetings in Kingston upon Thames and co-working days.

Kingston CF launched as an independent charity in January 2021, following eight successful years as local community fundraising project, Love Kingston. We are a small, dedicated team with over 30 years' third sector experience between us, and we work closely with our very supportive Board of Trustees.

The Fundraiser will play a key role in raising funds and awareness for the Friends of Bereaved Families Forum, a UK charity established to support the work of the Parents' Circle in Israel and Palestine. 

This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, and ensuring the sustainability and growth of our programs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the peace mission and values of the Bereaved Families Forum.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Fundraiaser will work in close consultation with the Chair, Trustees and with members of the Steering Committee in carrying out the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization's goals. Develop strategies to expand, enhance and cultivate the current donor base. Set targets for fundraising and report against targets.
• Identify new donors and cultivate existing donors. seek new sources of funding such as charitable foundations and trusts. Submit grant applications and reports, as needed.
• Develop and maintain database of donors and donations.
• Constantly follow PCFF activities, projects, achievements, and evolving content matter. Work closely with the PCFF Israeli-Palestinian fundraising team to address needs and identify opportunities.
• Organisation of speaking visits to the UK by PCFF representatives. Plan programme of events and manage relevant arrangements, bookings, etc. Designing and executing a programme of awareness-raising and fundraising events, marketing, and alumni engagement.
• Maintain and increase FBFF’s media presence – in Jewish, Christian, Muslim and national press.
• Field general queries from external groups and individuals.
• Newsletter - produce and distribute periodic written/visual material about FBFF activities for the newsletter and translating/adapt relevant PCFF materials for UK audiences. Constantly increase distribution and readership.
• Constant update of social media and website – [may work with website maintainer on improving design]
• Steering Committee - set up and attend meetings, prepare agendas, reports, minutes, and other relevant documentation – and work closely with members to initiate and develop activities.
• Reporting - monthly, in a format to be agreed to the Chair and Trustees on activities, achievements, and future plans.

About the role

For the past five years, Platform’s fossil free work has focused on the coordination of the activist network UK Divest, with the aim to disrupt the financing of the fossil fuel industry through local government pension schemes. In the past two years, the remit of our work has expanded, to include new campaigns focused on exposing and disrupting fossil fuel industry sportswashing and the lobbying of Parliament. Now, with new campaigning underway on new targets in the pension sector, we are re-organising and growing our team to resource this exciting work.

Working alongside three Fossil Free Campaigners at Platform - and partners at Friends of the Earth Scotland - you will build on the strengths and learnings of past years to lead the strategic development of this important programme of work, incorporating UK Divest, Fossil Free Parliament, fossil free sports work, and new pensions work.

Our fossil free campaign is also inextricably tied to other movements for social justice. We are specifically seeking someone to develop the international solidarity potential of this work, understanding how fossil fuels are intertwined with the defence industry, colonialism, and global extraction more broadly. We want to target investment in and political support for fossil fuel companies because we believe it is intricately linked to broader global justice, such as the UK Government’s role in supporting destructive energy projects worldwide. The best divestment and anti-fossil fuel campaigning has been, and your future work will be, informed by and responsive to the BDS movement, the Global Energy Embargo for Palestine and anti-apartheid and arms trade work.

As a permanent member of Platform staff, you will also participate in the collective decision-making and running of Platform as an organisation, as well as having fundraising responsibilities alongside your project work.

Hours: 4 days (32 hours per week based on a 40 hour week)

Salary: Baseline salary is £42,248 pro rata (£33,791 at 4 days a week) and is subject to Platform’s Socially Just Waging System.

You understand how political institutions work, particularly local councils and/or UK and Scottish Parliament. You may have experience in insider advocacy, and have worked with policymakers to make change happen. Ideally, you also have a working understanding of how financial institutions such as pension schemes support the fossil fuel industry.

You are deeply motivated by Platform’s visions and values, and feel enthusiastic at the prospect of operating within a flat-structured organisation. You have a strong understanding of climate justice in relation to a wider context of capitalism and white supremacy.

What the role involves

- Work effectively with Safer London’s practice teams to identify opportunities and prepare successful funding bids in a competitive environment.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective funders and scan the external environment to identify new funding opportunities that are aligned to Safer London’s aims and strategic priorities.
- Develop and write inspirational, accurate, and compelling funding bids with the view of achieving sustainable long-term support for Safer London’s work.
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders, including through maximising any relationships held by senior colleagues and trustees.
- Maintain and develop internal income generation systems and processes, including donor records, financial information, funder reports, and internal monitoring to ensure effective stewardship and internal visibility of progress against plans.

Major Gifts Manager, International Fundraising

The Major Gifts Manager, International Fundraising will support PETA’s global programmes by securing vital funding from new and existing supporters. This role will advance the fundraising potential of PETA France and PETA Netherlands and work closely with existing teams within the UK and Germany.

To solicit major gifts (£5,000 and above) to support PETA’s international programmes and campaigns.

To build and advance relationships with PETA entities’ major donors and prospects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop a strategy for international for major gifts fundraising
• Manage and maintain a portfolio major gift donors and prospects, across PETA international entities
• Effectively steward donors and prospects
• Develop personal engagement plans for donors, using knowledge and insights to plan appropriate communications
• Solicit major financial contributions from targeted donors
• Manage a pipeline of prospects, creating engaging opportunities for donors to increase their giving to a higher level
• Acknowledge, thank and recognise donors appropriate to their level of support, and ensure restricted gifts are appropriately allocated
• Maintain accurate records on PETA entities’ databases with relevant information and research
• Work with the prospect researcher to obtain useful information, helping make appropriate asks
• Participate in budgeting process
• Monitor donors’ motivations and interests – keeping accurate and up to date records in the database
• Develop cultivation events within regional hotspots throughout PETA entities
• Work collaboratively with PETA staff across PETA entities
• Maintain a clear understanding of – and the ability to articulate – PETA's objectives as well as details of specific PETA programmes
• Maintain departmental information, files, and records related to legacy estates
• Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant departmental software (e.g. ROI, ResearchPoint, Raiser's Edge, etc) in order to improve communication with donors
• Assist with the preparation and proofreading of mailings and other communications, as needed
• Work with the wider major gifts team and VP of International Fundraising on all aspects of cultivation and stewardship
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Perform and manage any other projects or duties requested by the supervisor
• Be aware of GDPR and its implementation in European territories
