As Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will: 

• Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships at five and six figure level

• Be a senior brand ambassador for the charity, engaging and developing effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally

Supporter Services Executive

The role

At Cruse Bereavement Support, we are looking for a Trust and Foundations Manager to lead our vitally important trusts and foundations income stream. This is a key role for us, and we are looking for an experienced trusts and foundations fundraiser looking to take this work to the next level. You will line-manage a Trusts and Foundations Officer and be part of a wider Partnerships Team, which includes national corporate partnerships, external training and consultancy. You will lead on working with colleagues from across Cruse to develop innovative new approaches to funding asks from trusts and foundations. Your relationship fundraising approach will enhance our work with existing partners and win the support of new funders. Your collaborative approach to internal working relationships will allow you to produce high quality funding applications and reports to funders.

This role is a remote role, but you will be an active member of the Cruse family, in daily contact with many colleagues from all areas of Cruse for video calls, phone calls, email and instant messaging. The hours are 35 per week (but would consider 30+ hours over 5 days).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver the Marketing & Communications strategy. Work with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing Consultant to contribute to the development of the the Marketing and Communications Strategy. The Fundraiser will play a key role in raising funds and awareness for the Friends of Bereaved Families Forum, a UK charity established to support the work of the Parents' Circle in Israel and Palestine.

Location: Hybrid working part London Office (Islington, London) part home work.  The post holder will work a minimum of 1 day per week in the office. Some out of standard business hours work may be required, including weekends and evening work to facilitate events. 

Salary:  £36,400 per annum 

Hours: 35 hours per week

This is a fixed-term maternity cover for 12 months due to start early September 2024.

Who we are looking for 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Special Events Team as Senior Special Events Fundraiser.

We have some exciting events coming up including a reception in October and a high-profile dinner at The Design Museum in November, so we need somebody to come in and hit the ground running. Please note that these events are in the evenings so the role will require some flexibility.

You will work closely with the Head of Special Events to deliver our events, taking responsibility for key elements of the management and delivery of each event and ensuring they meet budget targets. You will collaborate with internal teams on delivering events, including the bi-annual Patrons’ Club Reception and other events that arise over the year.

Relationship building (both externally and internally) is a key part of the role and an integral part of working for JDRF so you will have excellent interpersonal and stewardship skills.

As a highly creative and confident fundraiser, you will be given the scope to develop existing events as well as creating new and innovative events to increase fundraising as well as raising awareness of JDRF. 

Experience required 

You’ll have previous experience of: 

• Managing successful Special Events from concept to post-event evaluation

• Developing event plans and materials

• Building relationships with high level supporters, senior volunteer committees and external suppliers

• Achieving budgets

About You
 
We’re looking for an experienced and creative relationship manager with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail. You are a proactive individual, with experience in shaping fundraising initiatives or similar projects effectively in partnership with key stakeholders. You are a positive team player with a professional, solution focused approach. 

You’ll have:

- Proven experience of philanthropy fundraising or an equivalent field with a track record of initiating new high-value relationships and managing long-term donor/client relationships.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written skills with great attention to detail, and an ability to digest complex programmes of research, flexing your style according to the audience. 
- Experience and/or understanding of philanthropy within the healthcare and/or a medical research setting.
- Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise multiple tasks, work under pressure and within tight deadlines. 

 
About the Team
 
The Philanthropy Manager sits within the Philanthropy team – part of the Relationship Fundraising division within the wider Fundraising Directorate. The team focuses on securing gifts from high net-worth individuals and charitable foundations and manages a substantial high value programme. The Philanthropy Manager will sit within a sub-team of three fundraisers – a Philanthropy Executive, a Philanthropy Manager, with both being managed by a Senior Philanthropy Manager.

The role

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Income Generation to join our senior leadership team. This new and pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing robust income generation strategies to diversify and grow our funding and trading streams. 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising or sales, building strategic partnerships, and driving innovation in income generation. As a key player in our organisation, you will lead a dedicated team and work collaboratively to ensure the sustainability and expansion of our vital programmes.

Key responsibilities

Income Generation Strategy:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive income generation strategy that aligns with the charity’s mission and goals;

• Identify and explore new income streams, including fundraising, partnerships, and product development.

Fundraising:

• Oversee all fundraising activities, including trusts and foundations and individual giving;

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, funders, and sponsors;

• Develop compelling fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives to attract new supporters;

• Oversee bids and pitches;

• Act as an ambassador for the charity, championing its interests locally and nationally with stakeholders and potential supporters.

Business Development and Partnerships:

• Identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with businesses, foundations, and other organisations;

• Develop new business and partnership engagement communications - a suite of tools and collateral;

• Negotiate partnership agreements and manage ongoing relationships to maximise mutual benefits;

• Leverage partnerships to enhance the charity’s visibility, credibility, and reach;

• Ensure high levels of engagement and satisfaction among business partners and volunteer coaches.

Product Development:

• Innovate and develop new products and services that align with the charity’s mission and generate income;

• Collaborate with the programme delivery team and the CEO to identify and drive opportunities for product development and diversification, and to scale the organisation;

• Oversee the implementation and marketing of new products.

Marketing and Communications:

• Work closely with the CEO to develop marketing and communications strategies and plans that align with the charity’s goals and objectives;

• Enhance the charity’s reputation through effective brand management, ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all channels;

• Oversee the creation of compelling campaigns and content, and the charity’s digital presence including website, SEO and social media.

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing income generation team including four direct reports (Senior Fundraising Manager, Head of New Business Partnerships, Head of Partnership Experience, Head of School Partnerships);

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team;

• Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and support professional development;

• Collaborate with the wider Leadership Team on Future Frontiers’ strategy and plan for growth;

• Play a key role in the development and delivery of charity-wide culture initiatives and the EDI strategy.

Financial Management:

• Prepare and manage the income generation budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources;

• Monitor and report on income generation performance, providing regular updates to the CEO and Board of Trustees;

• Oversee production of annual report and fundraising matters for the annual accounts and audit;

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in fundraising management.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

• Stay abreast of trends, opportunities, and challenges in the fundraising, education and social mobility sectors;

• Encourage and implement innovative approaches to income generation;

• Continuously evaluate and improve income generation strategies and processes, including maximising effectiveness of the CRM system (SalesForce).

About you

Experience:

• Proven experience in developing and delivering successful income generation strategies (Essential);

• Demonstrated success in growing income through diverse streams, including one or more of fundraising, partnerships, philanthropy and product development (Essential);

• A passion for social mobility and a commitment to the charity’s mission (Essential);

• Experience in the social mobility, education, or youth sectors (Desirable);

• Knowledge of relevant fundraising regulations and best practices (Desirable).
