We are Surrey Wildlife Trust, part of the federation of 46 national wildlife trusts. We are experts in increasing biodiversity and bio abundance. We are looking for an engaging people-focused individual to build relationships with supporters of Surrey Wildlife Trust (SWT). To achieve our mission we need to grow investment in conservation. As Philanthropy Officer you will bring your expertise in Major Gift and Legacy Fundraising to the team at SWT, successfully growing our donor portfolio and cultivating and winning major gifts in line with agreed targets and the Fundraising Strategy.

You will work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications, and colleagues in the fundraising team, and across the Trust to evolve and continuously improve philanthropy activity.

This role is all about long-term relationship-building and will involve engaging with a wide range of supporters of SWT to take them on a journey and achieve key outcomes including;

· Identifying donor segments to tailor activity towards different areas of interest and levels of support

· Cultivating trust in SWT and the way in which it invests funds to restore and protect Surrey’s nature.

· Creating a sustainable pipeline of funding for SWT from major gifts and gifts in Wills.

The role provides an opportunity for an individual with existing experience in philanthropic fundraising to develop and to help shape the philanthropy programme at SWT.

Our offices are in Pirbright, Leatherhead and Wisley and our hybrid working policy aims to provide a good work/life balance which can incorporate partial home working.  The salary offered to successful applicants will form part of a benefits package including: above minimum pension contributions, life assurance of 4 x salary, employee support schemes, 22+ days holiday, flexible/hybrid working policy.

The Role

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Digital Fundraising Officer will help to maximise income through fundraising appeals, provide beneficiary support and increase supporter retention through digital channels

Key responsibilities will include:

· Plan and implement digital fundraising campaigns

· Ensure content meets brand guidelines

· Work with the Digital Marketing Manager to test and develop new strategies

· Monitor and report on the effectiveness of paid digital marketing campaigns

· Collaborate with external media agency to oversee the delivery of paid advertising

· Work closely with stakeholders to support the implementation and delivery of their campaigns

· Provide training for colleagues, helping to develop their digital marketing skills

· Proactively maintain excellent knowledge of digital marketing practices, trends and campaigns

About You

You will need experience of:

· Implementing, optimising and reporting on paid digital campaigns across Meta and Google.

· Writing great copy and the ability to adopt different tones and writing styles.

· A/B testing, reporting and completing post-campaign analysis.

· Using analytics tools including GA4 and analysing data to inform decision-making.

· Tracking digital campaigns.

There are 1.5 million children and young people with a disability (CYPD) in the UK.  Over three quarters cannot access regular leisure facilities which massively impacts their health and well-being. Furthermore, the impact of living with a disability can have a significant impact on the wider family, with over 72% of parents reporting mental health challenges and over two thirds saying they feel isolated some or all of the time.

Gympanzees’ mission is simple. We want all children and young people living with a disability to have access to high-quality, fully inclusive leisure facilities so that they can enjoy fun, fitness, and friendships and support their families out of isolation.

Sounds simple, but it’s a huge task.  There is nowhere in the UK like this. Anywhere. At all.  But we’re changing that, and we want you to join us!

Since 2018 we’ve been hosting Pop Up’s during easter and summer months, across Bristol, in various special schools which has seen us welcome over 23,500 visitors.  Each one has helped hone and improve our delivery model, and longer-term plans.  These Pop Ups have seen some incredible firsts, including:

· A 6 year old taking their first steps

· A 12 year old sleeping through the night for the first time

· A 3 year old having his first laugh

· An 8 year old rolling over for the first time

Families have travelled from all over the country to enjoy the Pop Ups, some covering 6-hour journeys just for their afternoon of fun!

During COVID we quickly adapted our offer to include a Lending Library which continues to this day, offering nearly 300 items of specialist equipment, free of charge.

In 2023 we purchased a new site to develop into a permanent home which will open in summer 2026.  Redevelopment is underway, and so too is an £8 million campaign to support this extraordinary project.

Where you’d fit in

Gympanzees is a growing team which currently consists of 16.  The fundraising team consists of 6 people.  This role is a crucial member of the fundraising team and will be delivering on a vital income stream that is both financially and strategically significant for the capital project.

Job description

As the Senior Fundraising Manager for Trusts and Statutory, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital income from across these funding streams, whilst leading a small team to maximise their own fundraising efforts from similar sources.

This position is ideal for someone with proven experience in researching and crafting successful grant applications from both traditional grants as well as local and national statutory source.  It will especially appeal to those with capital campaign experience but is not a pre-requisite.

You'll be tasked with distilling complex information into compelling narratives that effectively convey our mission and objectives while aligning with grant requirements. Excellent copywriting skills are essential, as you'll need to create engaging and informative content that tells our story authentically and passionately.

Your approach will be highly organised and methodical to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant briefs. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, you'll collaborate closely with a high-level fundraising team to maximize funding opportunities and drive positive impact.  Additionally, you shall line manager the Trust and Foundations Manager.

Main Responsibilities - include but are not limited to.

1. Grant identification and Research: Conduct thorough research to identify

potential grant and statutory funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources aligned with Gympanzees' mission and projects.

2. Grant Proposal Development: Lead the development of compelling grant proposals, including conducting needs assessments, defining project objectives, outlining budgets, and articulating impact metrics.

3. Grant Application Process: Manage the end-to-end grant application process, including drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals within deadlines, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

4. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, including government agencies, philanthropic organizations, and corporate partners, to enhance funding prospects and collaboration opportunities.

5. Budgeting and Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop project budgets, monitor spending against grants, and ensure accurate financial reporting to funders.

6. Grant Compliance: Ensure compliance with grant agreements, reporting requirements, and regulatory guidelines, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to fulfill reporting obligations.

7. Grant Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of grant-funded projects, collecting and analyzing data to assess outcomes and inform future funding strategies.

8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with program managers, finance staff, and other team members to align funding strategies with organizational priorities and project needs.

9. Knowledge Sharing: Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant funding and statutory funding opportunities relevant to Gympanzees' mission and share insights with the team.

10.  Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the organization's grant-seeking efforts and overall fundraising strategy.

11.  Management of Grants and Trust Officer and grants consultants that we are working with.

Skills you’ll need

1. Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

2. Strong understanding of grant funding mechanisms, including government, foundation, and statutory funding programs.

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive grant proposals and communicate complex ideas effectively.

4. Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure when needed.

5. Financial acumen, including budget development, financial reporting, and grant compliance.

6. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach to achieving funding targets.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software platforms.

8. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

About the Role

This role is an opportunity to develop your fundraising skills and gain experience across a broad range of incomes streams while also providing essential administrative support across our small charity. You will support the Director and Fundraising Manager with fundraising from grant makers, individual donors and corporate partnerships. You will already have strong digital skills and will take the lead on developing our digital fundraising through expanding the effectiveness and reach of our social media. You will oversee the administration of our Peak Partners scheme for businesses and lead on signing up new bronze and silver level partners. You will also lead on community fundraising - supporting individuals and groups who want to fundraise for the Foundation. The role will also include helping to distribute much-needed grants to projects across the National Park.

This role would be ideally suited to someone with a digital communications background who wants to develop skills in fundraising, or an individual with some fundraising or sales experience who is looking to move into the environmental sector. You will be a confident communicator and willing to muck in and be a key part of our small friendly team.

Job Purpose

To act as a key link between the Finance and Fundraising to ensure that all fundraising income is accounted for correctly and in a timely manner. You will report into the Financial Controller and work together as part of the Finance Team. You will liaise predominately with the Fundraising Team alongside other stakeholders across The Children’s Trust.

Manage and account for Fundraising income

• Responsible for processing and coding incoming donations between the bank accounts, ledgers and the CRM system, ensuring that entries are up-to date, accurate and posted in a timely manner.
• Responsible for banking of cash and cheques daily at the Post Office and the bank.
• Responsible for processing Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) vouchers, credit card receipts and other charitable donation vouchers.
• Use the CRM system to identify the source and coding of donations.
• Work closely with the Supporter Care team and other teams to resolve queries.
• Responsible for restricted income, reconciling with Fundraising to ensure donations are allocated correctly.
• Ensure that collection box income is collected and reconciled.
• Issue, amend and cancel Fundraising invoices and ensure payment is received promptly.
• Process and reconcile World Pay, Just Giving and other forms of electronic giving receipts accordingly. Provide Fundraising with relevant reports.
• Reconcile shops weekly income to the till system reports.
• Obtain and process reports from PayPal in relation to goods purchased via the website.
• Manage PDQ and banking terminals / platforms.

Month end procedures

• Month end fundraising processes including accruing income and processing bought in goods journals.
• Retail journals including income and shops rent and rates expense release.
• Reconcile Restricted Funds, ensuring that each restricted donation is allocated to the correct Fundraising code.
• Reconcile Fundraising and Retail Gift aid.
• Work with Fundraising to chase unpaid invoices

Other general duties

• Lead with the Fundraising / ThankQ systems integration.
• Responsible for maintaining the Finance Fundraising SharePoint site.
• Manage Fundraising relationships ensuring relevant support is provided to meet all departments objectives.
• Raise ad hoc other income invoices and receipts such as rentals, events and student placements.
• Continually look to review and improve processes working with Fundraising and other stakeholders.
• Assist with the year-end stock-take and to ensure that the stock remaining, and stock sold reconcile for each shop.
• Assist with the annual audit.
• Arrange banking of foreign and mutilated currency.
• Provide ad hoc assistance to the rest of the Finance Team.

Communications and Fundraising Coordinator

 

The new role of Communications and Fundraising Coordinator will be the first role in PDA Society which is exclusively dedicated to increasing our sustainability.

Position: Communications and Fundraising Coordinator

Location: Home-based with occasional prearranged in-person meetings

Hours: Part-time, 30 hours per week (hours may be worked flexibly over a minimum of 4 days a week)

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £15.87 an hour (Actual salary £24,757 - FTE £28,883)

About the role:

Supported by our Communications and Community Manager, you will play a key part in our fundraising and communications and developing how we talk about the impact of our work.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

· Ensure our social media and email communications are welcoming, informative and useful for the PDA community.

· Build relationships with trusts and grant-giving organisations and write successful funding applications that help us to grow.

· Develop the communications around our training offer and demonstrate to different audiences how our training could help them with the challenges they are facing.

· Provide digital support and stewardship for community fundraising events, making sure that people who raise money for us feel valued and know the difference they are making.

The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.

This is a unique oppertunity for a passionate and experienced fundraiser to progress further in their career, with the freedom to creatively enhance and develop the fundraising strategy of an impactful community-based charity.

As Senior Fundraising Lead you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will lead on the development of fundraising at Baobab, exploring new avenues for funding, as well as nurturing and growing existing fundraising relationships. You will be responsible for strategising and carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. There is scope to explore further fundraising activites including events, corporate and community fundraising. You will play a central role and work closely with our operations team, as well as recieving expert monthly mentoring from a senoir fundraising consultant. 

This role is for 4 or 5 days per week depending on your preference, it will include Fridays which is when staff meetings are held.

Mental Health:  All of the young people Baobab supports suffer significant mental health and developmental difficulties and many function in an unstable and more immature way than their chronological age. Due to their experiences it takes time to gain trust from the young people in our community. As a core member of our team, you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being.

It often takes a significant amount of time to understand Baobab’s model of working, which aims for rehabilitation and justice through attending to both the internal and external world of each young. It is important that you strive to have an insight to the experiences of both the internal and external factors impacting on the lives of unaccompanied young people attending our centre. It is also important that you understand the ways in which UK society and policy impacts on young asylum seekers (including invisibility, marginalisation, discrimination, and the fact of waiting in uncertainty for a long time).

This role is hybrid based with 1dpw in the London office. This is to support the Philanthropy and Partnerships team, reporting the Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships, and mostly helping with Corporate activity as they move through a particularly busy time onboarding a new partnership and managing charity of the year.

Duties:

Supporting with thanking individuals and organisations for donations and taking part in fundraising activity

The River Thames Boat Project offer therapeutic cruises and deliver fun and dynamic educational and learning activities on the river Thames.

The charity was formed in 1988 and registered in 1989 and has shown that enjoying and learning about the river on board their specially adapted and wheelchair-accessible boats, is an exceptional experience. It brings relaxation, health and personal development benefits unique to the river setting, as shown by their many returning clients who rebook year after year. Their boats are moored at Kingston-upon-Thames, and they operate along the river between Windsor and Putney.

The River Thames Boat Project are now looking for a Fundraising Manager to raise the funds to enable them to run cruises and education days on the Thames.

As Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for growing the charitable income across all streams (grants, foundations, corporate sponsors), maximising members program, establishing a sound data base for fundraising and establishing a volunteer fundraising committee. You will develop and execute a fundraising plan and develop strong relationships with prospective and existing funders. You will research potential trust and foundation funders, write compelling bids and ensure effective reporting and stewardship. You will also be responsible marketing the charity to prospective clients through mailings, social media and other routes.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

* Proven experience in raising income for small to medium size charities from multiple sources with a specific focus on trusts and foundations

Your role

 This role will be required to manage a team of face-to-face fundraisers who will sign up regular supporters within a defined geographical area (two main hubs are in Newcastle and Scarborough) and raise vital long-term funding for the charity. This will include opportunities to work alongside other specialist teams including our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards, playing an integral part in reaching both local and team income targets and contributing towards the wider objectives of the RNLI.

As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:

• Recruit, train and performance manage a team of motivated Face to Face Fundraisers
• Manage and develop a portfolio of fundraising locations in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Cleveland and Yorkshire areas
• Measure performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) i.e. targets and budget
• Create and execute detailed delivery plans, mitigating for risks and opportunities
• Maintain and develop internal and external stakeholder relationships

About you

Working at the frontline of our fundraising activities, you’ll have excellent communication skills, people management capabilities, proven track record of working to targets and a passion to manage a team who engage with the beach-going public and event visitors to get their commitment for regular support for the cause.

You’ll be an effective team player with a pragmatic and solution-focused approach to problem solving and a calm approach to a busy workload. You’ll be positive, confident, determined, resilient, with very strong communication skills and naturally outgoing.

You’ll be a self-starter who can lead an energetic and innovative team to success. Able to adhere to codes of conduct, policies and be Fundraising Regulator compliant in all that you do and deliver. You’ll be flexible and prepared to work out of office hours with considerable travel throughout the year, peaking through the summer months. Substantial annual leave during the summer would not be practical for this role.

To be considered as the Face-to-Face Manager (North East), you will need:

• Ideally, proven experience and success in face-to-face fundraising. This will either have been gained working for a charity or a fundraising agency or regional sales experience
• Excellent people management skills and evidence of managing and motivating a team of paid staff or volunteers to achieve goals/targets
• Excellent communication skills and teamworking ethos
• Self-motivation and ability to create and prioritise own workload
