This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Deputy Service Manager, supporting a high performing team to provide high quality, trauma informed support to victim/survivors of Domestic Abuse and their children, living in our safe accommodation. The deputy manager will contribute to the management of our dispersed accommodation service, in line with Refuge’s policies and procedures and quality management system.
The post holder will provide line management and support to staff, mainly Floating Support Workers. This will include providing supervision on complex casework issues such as child protection, overseeing operational emergencies and ensuring high standards of housing management.
Working closely with the Service Manager to ensure that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully, and that Refuge’s high-quality standards are maintained, the role may involve visiting potential sites and contributing to the establishment of new services in conjunction with the development team. The job involves working closely with staff that supports victim/survivors of Domestic Abuse in crisis using our services.
As a member of the management team, the post holder will be required to participate in an out-of-hours rota management service.
There is also a requirement to have access to a vehicle, as regular travel across Warwickshire between properties will be required.
This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

Spectra CIC delivers peer to peer counselling services across London. The post holder will coordinate Spectra’s LGBTQ+ Youth Counselling Service. This will include the delivery of counselling sessions, client allocations, service development and waiting list management. In addition to liaison with members of the counselling team.
You will have good understanding of the health and well-being needs of young LGBTQ+ people, and an understanding of access barriers in underserved groups within communities.
You will have a good working knowledge of Office programmes including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

As a Recruitment Coordinator, you'll support the wider Recruitment team in providing a first-class recruitment service to both hiring managers and candidates.

Supporting the recruitment for both our retail and office roles, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of the recruitment service including:

You'll be an ambassador for British Heart Foundation (BHF), providing a seamless experience for our candidates at every touch point of the process. You'll also be able to get involved in recruitment project work around our career site, recruitment processes and systems.
About you
With excellent communication skills you'll be able to build strong working relationships with managers from across all areas of the business. You’ll have sound knowledge of recruitment practice and how to implement it in an in-house environment.
You'll have proven experience of working in a customer facing role or a position where you are providing excellent customer service. You’ll also have up-to-date knowledge of recruitment/employment law and an understanding of how it impacts BHF processes and procedures. We are looking for someone collaborative and with excellent attention to detail to join our fast-paced team.
To be successful in this role you will:
- be a team player
- be proactive and efficient and focused on getting results
- have strong time management skills
- be IT proficient with intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- have previous experience with HR systems and an Application Tracking System (ATS)
- have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Working arrangements
This is a hybrid role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office. This is a job-share position, working with another Recruitment Coordinator working Thursday and Friday.
At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average.
