Job Title: Head of Finance – Global Shared Services
About Us:
At Future CFO, we are committed to excellence in financial consulting, offering bespoke solutions to our clients who are predominantly in the not for profit and social impact space. As a forward-thinking organization, we are looking for a dynamic Head of Finance to join our senior management team. The Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of Future CFO clients. This includes financial planning, budgeting, reporting, analysis, strategic decision-making and donor reporting. The Head of Finance is responsible for managing, supervising, and directing financial activities that our charity clients buy into. The ideal candidate will have Non Profit and NGO experience and possess a blend of strong financial accounting skills and the ability to manage complex month-end processes across clients that are based globally. The individual will possess excellent
communication abilities to liaise effectively with various teams and clients. They will be confident and a self-starter with excellent people skills, possess a passion for growth and creating a powerful and connected team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
● Oversee and manage the entire month-end closing process across various clients, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, and deadlines are met.
● Be involved and proactive in comprehensive financial reconciliations that are performed for each client.
● Coordinate with various teams and clients to ensure a smooth flow of financial information and to support decision-making processes.
● Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, managing and complying with government reporting requirements and tax filings.
● Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that improve efficiency and internal controls across Future CFO and aligned to the various clients.
● Prepare and review financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements as well as be key lead of client audit.
● Manage comprehensive donor reporting, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to donors, grant providers, and other stakeholders.
● Liaise with external auditors, facilitating audits and implementing recommendations as required.
● Monitor financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
● Process standardization for running effective finances across our clients, working with other Future CFO leaders to create KPIs and contract management procedures.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is highly preferred.
● Excess of 5 years experience in a financial management, with a strong background in financial accounting and month-end closing processes.
● Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and standards, with the ability to oversee and ensure accuracy in financial statements and reports.
● Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
● Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for building relationships with internal teams and external clients.
● Audit experience is desirable but not essential.
● Proficiency in financial softwares and advanced Excel skills.

The post holder will lead on the Foundation’s research communications activities, working closely with the Comms and Digital Lead to execute a research communications strategy. This will ensure that our supporters are kept informed on the latest research developments and enable us to demonstrate the impact of our research.
The post-holder will also support the delivery of our annual grant schemes, as well as helping to manage our portfolio of funded projects. This will involve close working with our Research Programme Managers and include administering, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the performance of awards, ensuring the outputs are of the highest quality and supporting the charities activities.
The post-holder will have an important role to play in our busy and small-knit research team. They will be exposed to all aspects of grant management and use their communication skills to effectively share more information about the research we fund with our key stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
Research Communications

Work closely with the Communications and Digital Manager to oversee our research communications strategy and programme of activity;

Lead on the development of all external research communications activities to communicate the impact of our research and ensure our supporters are kept up to date with the latest developments. This includes developing news stories, blogs, newsletter content, infographics, research webinar series and our annual research impact report;

Liaise with our funded researchers to secure pictures and other content (e.g. video) for use on socials including making site visits to labs across the UK;
-
Liaise with our communications team and PR agency to take advantage of any press opportunities that arise for our research communications, supporting the development of position statements and press releases.
Research Funding Administration

Support the Research Programme Managers by ensuring our research grant rounds are effectively administered in line with Association of Medical Research Charity (AMRC) policy, including coordinating comprehensive internal and external peer review, supporting research review committees, drafting feedback for applicants, managing the contracting and financial monitoring of awards;

Assist the Research Programme Managers in managing the research programme budget including planning, monitoring and forecasting;

Support the ongoing development and implementation of our online grant management system, Flexi-Grant;

Track and assess progress of funded awards, building and managing relationships with award holders and maintaining regular communication through the project life cycle;

Assist the Research Programme Managers in preparing reports and correspondence for the Board of Trustees related to funded awards.
General Responsibilities

Contribute to the team being proactive and supportive, and working effectively and efficiently to achieve agreed objectives;

Contribute to the development and maintenance of strong internal relationships across the charity, working specifically with the Fundraising Team to support income generation;

Represent the Foundation at external scientific meetings and conferences;

Skills and experience required:
- It is essential that candidates are educated to postgraduate level in a relevant biomedical science subject e.g. biology, molecular sciences, neuroscience, pharmacology (please note, degrees in psychology will not be accepted for this role);

The Role
Reporting to the PR Manager, the role will help deliver key media campaigns that call for change to support people to rebuild their lives after stroke.
Key responsibilities will include:

Since 2006, ROLDA has dedicated itself to aiding vulnerable stray animals in Romania, one of Europe s poorer nations. Our mission includes rescue, rehabilitation, sheltering, sterilisation, and education. Our EU-standard shelters, inspired by British designs, can house up to 700 stray dogs, providing them with complete veterinary care and preparation for rehoming.
We have supported over 48,000 animals and built two dog shelters and one for disabled and senior cats. Additionally, we offer small grants to six other charities in Romania and over 40 shelters in Ukraine. We primarily rehome animals in Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK. By addressing the root causes of animal homelessness through neutering programmes and educational initiatives, we have significantly reduced overpopulation, helping over 40,000 cats and dogs in Romania and Ukraine.

About the role
As the #iwill Business Support Officer, you will be helping to grow a UK wide movement of youth social action, where young people are equipped and enabled to shape change in their own lives and communities.
