We require a HR Officer to lead in transactional HR processes to ensure compliance and smooth operation of activities such as recruitment and selection, supporting people processes, advising on our policies, recording and updating people records, liaising and coordinating meetings, reporting on performance and liaising with HR advisory services.
The postholder will carry out all essential administration for the HR & Business Support Manager in line with relevant regulations, standards and legislation and manage the process for HR functions such as safe recruitment, contracts of employment, probations, family leave, disciplinary and grievance issues, training and professional development.
You’ll be an excellent communicator, self-motivated, committed and reliable. You must be able to build effective working relationships with managers and staff, support absence management processes and assist with the preparation of payroll related checks.
We require the post holder to have the ability to work independently with strong time management, organisational and planning skills. Proficient IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and experience of working with databases and online systems is essential.
Two years' experience of HR or relevant function is essential and an appropriate professional qualification (or working towards this) such as CIPD level 3 is desirable. However, we will discuss experience and qualifications on a person-by-person basis if you are selected for an interview.

The role
Global Greengrants Fund UK is looking to hire an energetic and passionate individual who will play a key role in establishing and developing Global Greengrants Fund UK’s offering to individual donors to be able to make gifts of £100,000 annually, in order to secure significant unrestricted income for the organisation.
GGF UK has a small portfolio of existing high net worth individual (HNWI) supporters but is currently primarily reliant on income from trusts and foundations. The post holder will join the organisation at a time of very significant growth and will be expected to be able to work autonomously to build out a new income stream with significant potential to diversify our revenue and strengthen the organisation’s support to grassroots environmental justice movements.
Working as part of the Philanthropic Partnerships team and reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships, the postholder will also collaborate closely with colleagues across the global organisation Global Greengrants Fund, particularly within the Programmes, Communications, and Development teams towards realising organisational aims.
The candidate profile
The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in a similar role in a charitable, environmental, development, and/or grant-making organisation. They will be an experienced, senior-level fundraiser with a track record of securing and developing successful relationships with HNWIs to achieve ambitious income goals. They will have extensive experience in developing pitches, proposals, and fundraising products; and a strong interest in environmental justice, international development or human rights issues. They will have an extensive knowledge of the funding and philanthropy sectors in the UK and Europe; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and be confident in engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including at senior levels. They should also have excellent interpersonal understanding, relationship-building, stewardship, and conceptual skills to build strong alliances with diverse constituencies and manage complex politics, positioning, and relationships. They also thrive in a virtual environment and are motivated to take on challenges and collaboratively find innovative and creative solutions.

About RUSI
The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) is one of the world’s leading research think-tanks in the field of defence, security, and geopolitics. The Research Business Development team was established in 2023 to support RUSI’s nine research groups to meet their annual funding targets by responding to competitive bids, proactively identifying new funding opportunities, and sharing best practice across the organisation.
Main purpose of the post
We are seeking to appoint a Strategic Bids Manager with experience in managing the development and submissions process for successful research bids, to be part of a wider team that spearheads RUSI’s research fundraising efforts. Reporting to the Director, Research Business Development, the successful candidate will lead the process for preparing high-value bids, including drafting sections of the narrative and reviewing budgets, and be responsible for building central resources to improve and facilitate effective business development operations. This is a highly collaborative role that involves building very strong internal relationships at all levels of the organisation and with external stakeholders and skilfully managing competing priorities, personalities, and deadlines. We are seeking a team player with a pragmatic and positive attitude, who will enjoy learning about RUSI’s research areas and building stronger systems and processes to help us to make Business Development more efficient and successful.
Key tasks
- For UK Government, US Government, EU and Canadian Government bids, and bids over £100,000 value to RUSI:
- Serve as the institutional point of contact for the key funders listed above – attend Early Market Engagements/supplier events, funder events, webinars, to ensure you are up to date on their priorities and RUSI is competitive with our bids. Maintain a centralised database and disseminate up-to-date information on each funder’s practices, key dates, preferences, upcoming opportunities etc.
- For all other bids, review budgets for accuracy, competitiveness and to ensure costs are in line with RUSI’s policies and previous submissions, and, once finalised, seek approval from the COO.
- Work with the Director for Research Business Development, Research Directors and the Deputy Director General to identify and cultivate new relationships within each of the key funders, ensuring that we have good awareness of upcoming plans, expectations and priorities.
- Facilitate links to partner organisations (primes) and build and manage consortia-based relationships to ensure we have oversight of upcoming opportunities and are able to negotiate successful partnerships.
- Ensure use of best practice across research groups in our approach to bids and budgets, and that key documents, outcomes, research impact, and decisions are saved centrally for future use.
- With support from the BD team, develop and execute a plan to inform, train and mentor research and central services colleagues on best practice for bids, including a focus on wider business awareness.
- Respond to due diligence requests received by RUSI from research funders, ensure we have a central database of up-to-date policies and documents required to respond successfully and quickly.
- Work with the Business Development team to build organisational systems and processes for effective BD, collaborate with BD colleagues to share feedback and ideas, support each other, and develop central projects to improve BD across the organisation.
- Attend Business Development meetings with research groups and build strong relationships with project managers and project officers, capturing feedback and seeking input to BD processes and practices.
- Manage the process for new funder approvals with the Deputy Director General.
- Be a member of RUSI’s Research Committee and report on bid statuses and other relevant information when needed.

Person specification
Essential Skills and Experience:
- An extensive track record of submitting high-quality research project proposals to the funders listed above, with a demonstrable success rate.
- Able to produce clear, accurate and insightful written output, setting high standards and enhancing our external reputation through the production of strong bids.
- Skilled at dealing with high-pressured situations with sensitivity and in a calm manner.
- A track record of producing and reviewing small, medium, and large project budgets, often with specific funder requirements, and an understanding of how to develop competitive financial bids.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of common requirements for bid submissions, including statements on duty of care, quality assurance, supply chain management, gender, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Outstanding time management skills and a willingness to work flexibly, juggling shifting priorities and competing deadlines, managing people’s expectations effectively. Ability to agree and uphold effective boundaries to protect your time, with support from the Director of Research Business Development.
- Existing contacts or connections to partners from RUSI’s key funding institutions and/or primes.
- A good understanding of contractual matters and experience in resolving them.

St Neots Foodbank was founded ten years ago by the town’s churches; and is part of the Trussell Trust network and is still managed by trustees from those churches. The Interim Deputy Executive Director’s responsibilities will include managing senior staff at Reprieve, including the Directors of Casework, Advocacy and Policy, and working with the Joint Executive Director to oversee Reprieve’s Fundraising and Finances, its Governance and Board relationships, and its HR and Operations functions.
The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of leadership of a small to medium size human rights or similar charity, preferably with some international operations. They will have exceptionally strong management and people management skills, excellent judgment, proven ability to lead teams to achieve impact in their work, and an understanding of charity governance and finance issues.
Contract, location and salary
This is an interim, 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is based in Reprieve’s London office. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work 2 days per week from the London office and the rest of the week from home.
The salary is £80,000 per annum plus up to 5% employee matched pension contribution.

About the role
Our Operations team are the people behind the scenes that enable Nordoff and Robbins to function day-to-day. We cover all the essentials such as facilities, health and safety, finance, and IT/systems support.
As an Operations and IT Manager you will play an important role in keeping our music therapy facilities, IT and health and safety functioning charity wide. We’re looking for someone who has excellent task-management skills, is responsive, has strong technical skills and has a can-do attitude. You’ll report into the Director of Finance and Operations and people lead the Facilities Co-ordinator, and together you will oversee the smooth operations of the London Centre.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to be musical, but you do need to be able to spin numerous plates on a day-to-day basis, working with colleagues, clients and contractors right across our London Centre to keep things running ship-shape.

As a Legacy Management Officer, you will join the Friends & Family Legacy Management team as part of the UK's largest charity. You will play a valuable role in delivering our Legacy Product Strategy by managing a caseload of pecuniary, residuary, and life interest trust legacies and building collaborative relationships with solicitors, law firms and other professionals involved in legacy giving or Wills substitutes. You will play a key role in being the first point of contact for our supporters/members of the public and in administering estates generously donated to Cancer Research UK by our deceased supporters/ donors in a professional and approachable manner.
