The Philanthropy team are moving through a period of change and growth which will set this team up to strategically focus their resources and skill where it is most needed, in order to attract, cultivate and retain strategic philanthropic income.
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships & Philanthropy, the Senior Philanthropy Manager will lead a team to raise philanthropic income at the five, six and seven figure level and deliver a portfolio of successful High Profile Events. This is a unique opportunity to join CHAS at a key moment in our future developments.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have skill and experience in the following areas:
- Substantial experience of, and a strong track record in, major gift fundraising, including personally soliciting and stewarding 5, 6 and 7 figure gifts from major donors.
- Good leadership skills with experience of leading a small team, nurturing development and managing performance.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written skills with great attention to detail, and an ability to flex your style according to the audience.
- Experience in income generating and stewardship event development, project management and delivery.
- Managing a diverse workload with multiple deadlines, deliverables and stakeholders, thinking creatively to leverage opportunities and develop relationships.

Job Summary:
The position of Event Manager is a central role within the Foundation, not only driving the Foundation forward in both fundraising and keeping the cogs turning in all aspects from administrative detail to event organisation.
This role is unique, from the breadth of responsibilities to the ownership it allows for an individual.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Leading development, delivery and execution of the LGF events programme, consisting of already established major donor events and a focus on improving the range of events for a wide general audience that maximises fundraising and drives supporter engagement.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with event co-founders, committee members, stakeholders and high net worth individuals to maximise income and secure continued committed support.

To closely work with the relevant events production agency to ensure the smooth running of events e.g. ensuring dietaries are collected, managing event budget inline with sponsorship.

Responsible for all major donor relationship management.

Responsible for day-to-day internal fundraising tasks, ensuring gift aid claims are up to date etc…

Aiding co-founders and committee members with event sponsorship bids and presentations.

Main LGF contact for event sponsors, includes ensuring contractual agreements are met, generally keeping them informed and happy with the partnership.

PR- oversee the activities of our pro bono PR team from an events perspective.

Lead, coach and work closely with the Events and Fundraising Executive to enable them to take on responsibilities for smaller events and manage tasks within the events.

General Event Management - Overseeing the organisation of the event, managing invites and RSVP’s, ticket payments where necessary, event sponsors

Our Fundraising & Marketing team here at The Trust are looking for someone who’s passionate about raising vital funds to become the new Philanthropy Manager focused on Mid-Level Giving (MLG), working with donors from across the UK.

St Christopher’s Hospice was founded in 1967 by Dame Cicely Saunders, and became the first hospice of the modern hospice movement. We provide invaluable care and support to over 7,500 people across the five London Boroughs of Bromley, Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.
The fundraising team generates more than £10m every year, around half of which comes through gifts left to the charity as legacies. We organise a programme of appeals, campaigns and events, administer our own lottery, make applications to charitable foundations, engage with local business and support individuals who give in-memory of a loved one. This is delivered by a strong employed fundraising team, supported by a number of wonderful volunteers.
Your new role
We need a dynamic, innovative and driven lottery administrator curious about data, and passionate about using data to solve problems. You will have an excellent knowledge of relational databases and be experienced in importing, selecting, analysing and validating large data sets.
Responsible for all administration of the St Christopher’s monthly lottery, you will help grow our lottery donors with accurate and efficient data entry and timely report production. Working with the Individual Giving Manager you will ensure full compliance with all Gambling Commission and other regulatory regulations.

You will be a member of the Individual Giving team focusing on lottery, direct mail, committed giving and in memory donations. You’ll work closely with the wider fundraising, communications and retail teams to ensure supporter engagement is first class at all levels
Some of the main responsibilities of this role include:
- To help us grow our lottery income from £.5m to £1m, using multiple channels: face to face, telemarketing, direct mail, email and paid social.
- Work with colleagues across the fundraising team to support the development of an excellent stewardship strategy, to grow the number of regular donors and lottery players.
- To provide excellent support care to all our donors using the appropriate method of communication and in accordance with their wishes.
About you:
We are looking for an experienced administrator, capable of demonstrating great time management and with a strong team working ethic, someone who is willing to take the initiative. Solutions focused and a great team player with excellent attention to detail. Ideally you are confident, articulate, outgoing and with excellent customer service skills, and someone who can communicate empathetically when dealing with supporters.

We are seeking a Grants and Trusts Manager to join our Fundraising team and lead on gaining income from grant-making bodies.

Position: Grants and Trusts Manager
Location: Burnt Oak, London. This is a hybrid position, though for an exceptional candidate we may consider fully-remote
Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum FTE (pro rata-ed depending on number of days a week the successful candidate contracts to)
Hours: Permanent, 4 days a week (32 hours, 0.8 FTE). Hours worked are flexible and certainly you are not tied to “9-5”. We will also consider applications from someone wishing to work 3 days a week (24 hours, 0.6 FTE)

About the role:
A part of the Fundraising team, as Grants and Trusts Manager you will lead on gaining income from grant-making bodies. You will line manage the Grants and Trusts Officer, and will need to develop strong relationships with the Delivery team, so you can match their funding needs to the right funder and get the right information from them to ensure a high quality of reporting.
Other key responsibilities will include:
· Overseeing a pipeline of grants and trusts applications, re-applications and reporting
· Working closely with the Delivery team to ensure the right bids are being submitted
· Working with the Impact and Insight Officer to shape monitoring and evaluation strategy and practice
· Leading tours and face-to-face and online meetings with Foundation staff and Trustees
· Working within the broader Fundraising team, supporting colleagues and department-wide projects
About you:
To be successful in the role of Grants and Trusts Manager you will have experience of trust and grant bid writing within a professional setting.
You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience:
· Produce compelling asks and proposals in line with the charity's objectives and the funders requirements
· Experience of gathering, understanding and presenting complex information and data
· Experience of working within a charity fundraising environment
· Experience of cultivating relationships with funders, both via verbal and written methods of communication
· Ability to prioritise tasks, manage own time and achieve strict / multiple deadlines
· High level of IT competence, excellent internet research skills and database management
· Motivated to improve young people’s lives for the better

Job Purpose:
- Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team
- Have day to day responsibility for the Individual Giving income stream
- Manage a portfolio of existing Individual Giving supporters, providing exceptional supporter care and building relationships, stewarding and nurturing existing donors.
