About the role:
Internation Mission to Jewish People (IMJP) is looking for an experienced Trust Fundraiser to join their Fundraising and Communications Team, focusing on Trusts and taking this key area to the next level.
International Mission to Jewish People has been at the cutting edge of mission to Jewish people since 1842. Their UK office is looking for an experienced Trust Fundraiser to secure significant income to support their vision to sustain and grow their vital mission work.
IMJP already has a loyal support base and they’re looking for someone to build on this and help grow their income and generate new and higher value funds as well as develop and nurture their current relationships with trusts.
This is an exciting time to join the fundraising and communications team, and with a new Director of Fundraising and Communications who started last year, they have a new fundraising strategy and direction that will help guide IMJP get to the next level with Trusts and Foundation grants.

About you:
You’ll be an skilled fundraiser bringing your previous experience in trusts or corporate fundraising with a proven track record of successful funding applications and bringing in significant income.
Using your excellent communication and relationship building skills you will be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with key trusts and grant making bodies in order to develop and sustain current relationships as well as progress and nurture new ones and secure more high level funding applications (£2 - £2.5k plus).
You’ll be proactive and self motivated, able to plan ahead and work to deadlines, using your attention to detail and current knowledge of regulations and fundraising best practise to be successful in your role. Your experience in writing tailored and high quality applications will be key and an asset to the team!
You'll bring your previous experience as a trust fundraiser to hit the ground running and pick up the current portfolio whilst also exploring and researching new avenues for trusts and grant application potential that will leverage a range of opportunities available.

What we can offer you:
Salary: £35,000 per annum.

Hours of work: You will be contracted hours are 35 hours per week (full time)
Pension: A generous pension scheme where the employer contribution is 8% and the employee contribution is 5%.
Holiday: 25 days a year (full time), plus bank holidays.

The role
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Income Generation to join our senior leadership team. This new and pivotal role will be responsible for developing and implementing robust income generation strategies to diversify and grow our funding and trading streams.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising or sales, building strategic partnerships, and driving innovation in income generation. As a key player in our organisation, you will lead a dedicated team and work collaboratively to ensure the sustainability and expansion of our vital programmes.
Key responsibilities
Income Generation Strategy:

Develop and execute a comprehensive income generation strategy that aligns with the charity’s mission and goals;

Identify and explore new income streams, including fundraising, partnerships, and product development.
Fundraising:

Oversee all fundraising activities, including trusts and foundations and individual giving;

Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, funders, and sponsors;

Develop compelling fundraising campaigns, events and initiatives to attract new supporters;

Oversee bids and pitches;

INTRODUCTION
St George’s Hospital Charity oversees over 220 Special Purpose Funds (SPFs) with a total value of over £4.5m. These funds hold donor-gifted and community-fundraised income, each with a specific purpose to support a particular ward, department, area of research or group of staff or patients. Every SPF has designated Fund Advisers, who are St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) and/or St George’s University staff members with delegated authority to review and authorise expenditure approvals and applications for funding. There are over 500 Fund Advisers who need effective stewardship as significant stakeholders.
ROLE PURPOSE
To manage the finance function of the charity and provide excellent finance support for the Senior Executive which will include:
- Maintaining a robust financial control framework and providing high quality timely financial management information to ensure effective decision making.
- Preparing annual financial statements and supporting an efficient external audit process.
- Supporting the annual budget setting and quarterly forecasting processes
- Leading on continuous finance process improvement and finance training for SGHC staff. MAIN
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Staff management
1.1. Carry out all line management duties in line with organisational policy and procedure, including:
- Diversity and inclusion - encouraging an inclusive environment.
- Recruiting and inducting good quality staff
- Proactively addressing performance, conduct or other employee relations issues.
- Support and coach your direct report to ensure objectives and development goals are achieved.
2. Management of Income and Payments Processing Operations
2.1. Responsible for ensuring that all fundraising and investment income is accurately recorded in the finance system.
2.2. Ensure the reconciliation of all income data from the bank against Raiser’s Edge (CRM system) to ensure data is accurate and complete and then recorded in the finance system once reconciled.
2.3. Manage an efficient and effective Accounts Payable function, ensuring that the work performed by the Senior Finance Assistant is at the required standard.
2.4. Lead on all communications with internal stakeholders, including Trust finance and Special Purpose Fund Advisers, to resolve any issues arising and produce monitoring reports on a regular basis.
3. Transactional accounting and fund management
3.1. Ensure systems are in place to identify and correctly record restricted donations, so that these are properly monitored and utilised.
4. Financial Control Framework
4.1. In consultation with the Director of Finance & Operations, ensure that appropriate controls, processes and procedures are in place, regularly reviewed and assessed for operational effectiveness.
4.2. Review and update Finance Procedures and effectively communicate these to staff, arranging training where necessary, within the Finance Department and across the Charity.
4.3. Ensure effective maintenance of the balance sheet, including regular key control account reconciliations (bank and other).
4.4. Monitoring of balances with the Trust, ensuring these are promptly settled, with discrepancies investigated and resolved.
5. Management Reporting
5.1. Delivery of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the Charity, including enhancing the production process and communication of timetables.
5.2. Co-ordinate the production of narrative reports to support review by the Director of Finance & Operations.
6. Financial reporting and audit
6.1. Lead the Finance team in the production of financial statements which are fully compliant with the Charity SORP to meet required audit and Board approval deadlines.
6.2. Lead the relationship with external auditors and all arrangements surrounding the annual audit fieldwork.

7. Budgeting and Forecasting
7.1. Assist the Director of Finance & Operations in the production of annual budgets, working closely with budget holders within the Charity to ensure completed in accordance with agreed timescales.
7.2. Lead on the quarterly re-forecast process, producing relevant analyses to understand and monitor key changes.
8. Banking and Investments
8.1. Work alongside the Director of Finance & Operations to maintain a strong relationship with the Charity’s banking and investment managers and take the lead on the day to day administration of the banking arrangements.
8.2. Ensure that bank mandates are up to date.
9. Systems and Data
9.1. Finance system
- Liaise with Application’s Supplier and Trust Systems support team in the maintenance and development of the finance system, ensuring essential maintenance are carried out as necessary to prevent cyber fraud and maintain data integrity.
- Provide support to the Finance team for the accounting functionality within the finance accounting application and its integrated systems.
9.2. System maintenance and training
- Support the Director of Finance and Operations with managing user access, permissions and privileges on the finance system, ensuring that any changes to staff are reflected immediately.
- Ensure all new staff are trained on the Finance System and that current staff receive updates as necessary. Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Director of Finance & Operations

Strategy, planning and reporting
- Produce annual fundraising plans and budgets for major donors, trust, corporate and regular givers to engage supporters and develop relationships;
- Work with the Head of Communications & Giving to develop and deliver long-term high value fundraising strategies;
- Manage budgets for fundraising activities and events;
- Report against monthly, quarterly and annual targets, identifying variances and strategies to address where needed;
- Lead on the set up of systems and processes to support effective and efficient fundraising and relationship management;
- Keep up to date with fundraising best practice, policy and relevant legislation and ensure these are reflected in Afghanaid’s approaches;
- Produce pipelines, reports and analysis of major donor, trust, corporate and regular giver fundraising.
Trust, Major Donor, Corporate and Regular Giver Fundraising
- Identify and secure new trust and corporate funding relationships through database analysis, desk research, networking, formal presentations, and producing concept notes or proposals;
- Retain and maximise relationships with existing trust and corporate portfolio through designing and delivering bespoke annual engagement strategies, including exclusive and personalised reports, briefings, calls and proposals;
- Promote cross-department collaboration on trust and corporate fundraising to maximise both unrestricted and restricted fundraising, leading meetings, identifying synergies, and integrating pipelines and prospecting mechanisms;
- Identify and secure new major donors and regular givers, conceptualising and running acquisition campaigns alongside the HC&G;
- Identify potential major donors and high value regular givers within Afghanaid’s donor portfolio and implement plans to develop these relationships;
- Manage and maximise relationships with existing major donors and high value regular givers through designing and delivering annual engagement strategies, including reports, calls and proposals;
- Collaborate with colleagues to produce content for engaging monthly email newsletters for high value portfolio;
- Design and manage an annual campaign to upgrade existing regular givers;
- Secure match funding from key trust, corporate and major donors to maximise the success of events and appeals;
- Mobilise Board of Trustees and Directors to support with stewardship of high value donor relationships;
- Organise the annual high value donor dinner, compiling the invitee list, managing RSVPs and organising other logistics;
- Coordinate and attend other events and external fora, representing Afghanaid, networking and pursuing opportunities;
- Manage external platforms related to high value giving including Benevity, Global Giving and Myriad US, updating where appropriate in alignment with campaigns and appeals and actively identifying ways to maximise their use and join new platforms where appropriate;
- Work with colleagues to identify and pursue opportunities for gifts-in-kind or alternative high-value partnerships.
Data and administration
- Ensure all phone calls, meetings, emails and other engagement with trusts, corporates, major donors and high value regular givers are logged on Salesforce, ensuring records are clean;
- Work with the Database and Insights Analyst to conceptualise and implement key CRM processes that promote efficiency, accuracy and maximise the use of automations;
- Work with the Database and Insights Analyst and other C&G colleagues to ensure all donations from these donation streams are recorded and reconciled accurately on the database;
- Ensure Gift Aid declarations are sought from all eligible donors and appropriately filed;

What you will do:

Research and develop new legacy activities and create a marketing plan. To be successful in this role you will have:
