Project Overview:

We are embarking on a large-scale project to expand and enhance the facilities and services of Living Potential Care Farm. This project aims to develop new therapeutic areas, upgrade existing infrastructure, and introduce innovative programs to better serve our community. We urgently seek an experienced and dynamic Fundraiser to lead our fundraising efforts, ensuring the successful realization of this transformative initiative.

Role Summary:

The Fundraiser will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the expansion project. This includes identifying and securing funding from diverse sources such as grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, foundations, and lotteries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising for large projects, excellent communication skills, and a strong network within the philanthropic community. Due to the urgency of this project, the candidate must be able to start immediately and hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a detailed fundraising plan for the project.

- Research and identify potential funding sources, including grants, trusts, foundations, corporate sponsors, and lotteries.

- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and potential donors.

- Prepare compelling funding proposals and presentations.

- Organize and coordinate fundraising events and campaigns.

- Monitor and report on fundraising progress, ensuring targets are met.

- Collaborate with the project team to align fundraising activities with project milestones.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in fundraising, particularly for large projects in the non-profit or care sector.

- Strong understanding of different fundraising methods and channels, including experience with foundations and lotteries.

- Demonstrated success in securing funding from grants, trusts, foundations, corporate sponsors, and lotteries.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Location:

The role is based in Sicklinghall, Wetherby, with some flexibility for remote working. Occasional travel may be required for donor meetings and events. Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager

Number of Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday with occasional evening and weekend working
Accountability of post: The post holder will be line managed by and accountable to the Development Manager

Do you have a strong track record of fundraising within the charity sector? We are looking for someone who can manage corporate and community fundraisers, develop events, both locally and nationally; as well as being able to write, and submit successful funding applications to trusts and other funding sources.

As our ‘Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager’ you will develop, deliver, and manage a range of corporate and community fundraising initiatives that will help the Throat Cancer Foundation (TCF) promote and deliver its services.

About Us

Founded in 2012 we are a UK charity that provide support, advice and information to patients and their loved ones who are affected by cancers of the head, mouth, neck, chest, and those throat cancers caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). We also campaign for universal HPV vaccination to prevent any future devastating throat cancer cases. Raising awareness of HPV and how it causes throat cancers has been and continues to be a large part of our work.

About the role

The successful applicant will work closely with the CEO, the management team, and Trustees to implement, develop and deliver a fundraising strategy that meets the charity’s challenging income targets. This post will play a vital role in helping us to deliver our range of throat cancer support programmes to patients, families, as well as to medical professionals and the scientific research sectors. This is a unique and challenging role, which will see the successful applicant working on a variety of projects at any one time, whilst working under pressure to deliver results. It is therefore important that anyone in that role has great communication skills as well as experience of managing fundraising events on a nationwide scale.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fundraising duties as required.
• Be the customer service face for all fundraisers and fundraising activities.
• Play a key role in the development and implementation of TCF’s community fundraising activities and third-party events.
• Work with the Business Development Manager and CEO to develop key messages, briefings, and positioning statements to ensure consistency and maximise the impact of our work
• Create, manage, and deliver robust project plans for allocated events delivering on set income targets.
• Review and adapt current events in the portfolio to maximise supporter engagement, retention and income growth.
• Booking and liaising with all suppliers involved with events and building and maintaining strong relationships with them.
• Working across the charity and externally, to significantly grow both volunteer numbers and activity.
• Develop the way we speak about volunteering, our brand, and associated materials, in order to attract more volunteers with the skills we need.

You have demonstratable experience as a corporate and community fundraiser with excellent knowledge of the charity sector. Your role

 This role will be required to manage a team of face-to-face fundraisers who will sign up regular supporters within a defined geographical area (two main hubs are in Newcastle and Scarborough) and raise vital long-term funding for the charity. This will include opportunities to work alongside other specialist teams including our volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards, playing an integral part in reaching both local and team income targets and contributing towards the wider objectives of the RNLI.

As a Face-to-Face Fundraising Manager, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:

• Recruit, train and performance manage a team of motivated Face to Face Fundraisers
• Manage and develop a portfolio of fundraising locations in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Cleveland and Yorkshire areas
• Measure performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) i.e. targets and budget
• Create and execute detailed delivery plans, mitigating for risks and opportunities
• Maintain and develop internal and external stakeholder relationships

About you

Working at the frontline of our fundraising activities, you’ll have excellent communication skills, people management capabilities, proven track record of working to targets and a passion to manage a team who engage with the beach-going public and event visitors to get their commitment for regular support for the cause.

You’ll be an effective team player with a pragmatic and solution-focused approach to problem solving and a calm approach to a busy workload. You’ll be positive, confident, determined, resilient, with very strong communication skills and naturally outgoing.

You’ll be a self-starter who can lead an energetic and innovative team to success. Able to adhere to codes of conduct, policies and be Fundraising Regulator compliant in all that you do and deliver. You’ll be flexible and prepared to work out of office hours with considerable travel throughout the year, peaking through the summer months. Substantial annual leave during the summer would not be practical for this role.

To be considered as the Face-to-Face Manager (North East), you will need:

• Ideally, proven experience and success in face-to-face fundraising. This will either have been gained working for a charity or a fundraising agency or regional sales experience
• Excellent people management skills and evidence of managing and motivating a team of paid staff or volunteers to achieve goals/targets
• Excellent communication skills and teamworking ethos
• Self-motivation and ability to create and prioritise own workload

The River Thames Boat Project are now looking for a Fundraising Manager to raise the funds to enable them to run cruises and education days on the Thames.

As Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for growing the charitable income across all streams (grants, foundations, corporate sponsors), maximising members program, establishing a sound data base for fundraising and establishing a volunteer fundraising committee. You will develop and execute a fundraising plan and develop strong relationships with prospective and existing funders. You will research potential trust and foundation funders, write compelling bids and ensure effective reporting and stewardship. You will also be responsible marketing the charity to prospective clients through mailings, social media and other routes.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

* Proven experience in raising income for small to medium size charities from multiple sources with a specific focus on trusts and foundations
* Self - motivated and pro-active with great interpersonal skills to work with staff members, volunteers, trustees, and external funders from individual to corporate donors.

What you'll bring as our Trusts and Statutory Fundraising Manager:

Knowledge of the funding sector and the work of the charity, making a credible ambassador for the charity. Understands and implements good funder stewardship practice. Understands the requirements of the fundraising regulator, particularly as it applies to trusts and statutory funding.

Excellent knowledge of trusts and grant givers in the UK, including giving trends. Talented writer, able to craft compelling narratives to showcase our cases for support and our impact. Persuasive interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Highly articulate and numerate. Good analytical skills, including analysing and manipulating data for project reporting. Able to consider patterns and potential and feed into future planning.

Proficient with financial information, including presenting budgets to external audiences. Solution focused, able to work with others to find solutions so that activity can progress.

Substantial (three or more years) proven track record of raising five and six figure gifts from Trusts, Foundations, or public bodies, and demonstrable experience of meeting financial targets. Experience of undertaking prospect research, pipeline management and feeding into future planning. Experience of using Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising databases.

Are you a skilled and knowledgeable fundraiser who can help us secure the funding we need to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) receive the education they are legally entitled to?

We’re looking for an experienced and ambitious fundraiser who is keen to develop their skill set across the fundraising mix and looking for an opportunity with strategic input. Making applications to trusts and foundations to secure grant funding will be the key focus of the role, so you will need to have a successful track record in either trusts and foundations or corporate fundraising with extensive experience of bid writing and stewardship. However, we are keen to develop other income streams over the next few years, particularly corporate partnerships and community fundraising so we are looking for someone who is interested in broadening their expertise.  

You will be stepping into a role with an established funding pipeline as we have secured a number of multi-year grants.

JOB DESCRIPTION  

INCOME GENERATION 

• Support the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications on the implementation of the fundraising strategy, in line with changing landscape with a core focus on corporate partnerships, trusts and foundations, company giving and general appeals; 

• Collaborate on ideas for creative sponsorship and funding opportunities in line with our strategic ambitions and develop and submit high quality and compelling funding proposals and tender documents to unlock funding;  

• Work with key stakeholders, including our Policy and Programme delivery teams to scope and develop exciting new project proposals; 

• Develop and grow the pipeline, identifying opportunities for funding from a range of sources, primarily corporate partners but also engaging, trusts & foundations and statutory sources. 

• Maintain an effective database of contacts and stakeholders. 

  PARTNERSHIPS MANAGEMENT 

• Support the management of existing donor relationships through working closely with the Director of Programmes & Partnerships and Programme Management Teams across the organisation; 

• Ensure all funding and sponsorship terms and conditions are acknowledged, recorded and completed in a timely fashion; 

• Accurately maintain and update records and databases, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as any legal requirements; 

• Work with the Programmes Team to contribute to high-quality donor stewardship for existing and new partners, through timely communication, gift acknowledgement, and tailored stewardship plans. 

STRATEGIC SUPPORT

• Maintain knowledge and understanding of the UK fundraising scene in order to input into the development and evolution of the organisation's fundraising strategy. 

• Work collaboratively with the Fundraising & Partnerships Manager (Trusts & Foundations) to cover work, and ensure mutual learning and professional development 

• Provide relevant and timely information to the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications for the purposes of reporting to the board. 

• Work closely with other key functions and teams on cross-team and organisation-wide initiatives as relevant, e.g., on workplace culture, capacity building; 

• Manage the Fundraising team inbox, ensuring any queries and requests are responded to or escalated in a timely manner;

Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is an independent charity dedicated to helping the successful integration of refugees and people seeking asylum into the local community. With over three decades of experience, we provide a holistic service which includes advice on welfare, benefits, and immigration, alongside education, counselling, and career guidance.

Purpose of the role

As Fundraising Manager, you will lead the fundraising functions of the charity to generate income, meet organisational targets, and ensure development opportunities are effectively maximised. Working with the Director and programme teams, you will develop and write competitive bids, growing capacity and securing income for 24/25 and beyond. The Fundraising Manager will have proven experience of successful grant writing and demonstrate a track record of fundraising achievements across multiple income streams.

Main areas of accountability

Fundraising - general

• Writing and submitting bids, tenders and proposals to ensure income targets are met in line with performance objectives
• Responsibility for the development and the implementation of RAK’s fundraising strategy, in line with organisational strategy and resources
• Providing stewardship to existing donors and supporters to maximise income and ensure long-term funding relationships
• Contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the services provided at RAK

Trusts and Foundations, Statutory Funding

• Securing regular income by producing and submitting appealing fundraising applications to trusts and foundations as well as statutory funding

About the Role

This role is an opportunity to develop your fundraising skills and gain experience across a broad range of incomes streams while also providing essential administrative support across our small charity. You will support the Director and Fundraising Manager with fundraising from grant makers, individual donors and corporate partnerships. You will already have strong digital skills and will take the lead on developing our digital fundraising through expanding the effectiveness and reach of our social media. You will oversee the administration of our Peak Partners scheme for businesses and lead on signing up new bronze and silver level partners. Free Tibet is a small but effective campaign organisation based in south London. We’re looking for a Fundraising Manager who can transform our routine fundraising and lead expert strategies for income generation.  This role is best suited to an experienced fundraiser who is confident in managing multiple streams of income and a small team. We are currently implementing a pay grading system at Free Tibet, offering increases with each year of service. The salary for this position starts at up to £45,000 based on the successful candidate’s experience.

Location

Our main office is in Brixton, south London. Fundraising

• Oversee all income-generation activity across Free Tibet and Tibet Watch. Ensure continuous improvement and innovation and an appropriate balance of fundraising activity across all streams. Current streams include postal appeals, online appeals, and the Free Tibet online shop.

• Manage applications for grant funding on behalf of both Free Tibet and Tibet Watch, working with the Fundraising Officer to build a strong portfolio of five and six-figure grants and steward them for renewal.

• Lead on the recruitment and retention of donors, especially Major Donors, and redevelop supporter journeys and stewardship programs. 

• Evaluate new ideas for income generation and strategies for implementation, especially corporate and challenge events / community fundraising. 

• Impact reporting of fundraising activity and the performance of quarterly appeals, with a view to improve internal processes for greater income innovation and ROI.

• Liaise with the Free Tibet Campaigns & Research Teams to ensure that campaigning, digital and fundraising activities are seamlessly coordinated.

• Managing relationships with third party agencies, like mailing services and digital mobilisation agencies, making sure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the highest standard.

• Ensure that our new Client Relationship Management (CRM) system, Raiser’s Edge NXT, is used effectively and to its full potential.

Leadership & management

We are delighted to be recruiting for a highly motivated, experienced and influential Fundraising Manager to be a key contributor in ensuring we continue to transform young lives through sailing and other opportunities.

As a member of our Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for managing the activities of the Fundraising Team  and directing the activities of those in other ASF locations to generate income against set targets and develop new income streams, working collaboratively with the CEO and the wider ASF team.  We are excited that this role will play a key part in developing our new partnerships. 

You will need to use your networking and proven influencing skills to nurture relationships, capitalising on our already well developed portfolio and articulate the benefits of ASF work to key high value donors to leverage more sizeable donations. You will also use your own networks to further build our funding portfolio. This includes developing partnerships with corporate businesses and local communities.

Working collaboratively with the Head of Communications and Development, The Operations Teams, Finance Manager and the Trustees you will demonstrate a proven ability to develop, write and deliver high quality applications and proposals for funding.

Supporting and attending ASFs regular fundraising activities, events and dinners is a key requirement for the role.
