This exciting role combines strategic thinking, creative collaboration, and hands-on campaign management to grow our supporter base and elevate our fundraising initiatives.
As a Senior Acquisition and Welcome Officer you will:
- Manage all aspects of the DRTV programme, including creative development, media planning, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate with agencies, telemarketing partners, and in-house teams to propose, test, and optimise campaigns across channels.
- Develop integrated digital support for campaigns, from PPC to social ads and landing pages.
- Plan and execute acquisition campaigns, including DRTV, inserts, and welcome journeys, using a test-and-learn approach.
- Use data and audience insights to inform decisions, continually refining campaigns for optimal performance.
- Coordinate with stakeholders and agencies to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
- Monitor and report on campaign performance, providing actionable insights to refine strategies.
To be successful, you must have experience:
- Experience working in a fundraising or marketing role, with some experience managing DRTV and print channels, either on client or agency side
- Good understanding of individual giving fundraising KPIs, including in relation to DRTV, print, telemarketing, email and landing pages.
- Good analytical skills, able to organise, analyse and interpret complex data into shareable reports, with attention to detail and accuracy and using insight to inform plans
- Experience of managing and motivating third-party suppliers
- Good working understanding of regular giving model and other fundraising products
- Knowledge of essential compliance guidelines, regulatory and legal environment guidelines relating to campaign management and data protection

POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of Development will provide overall leadership for Videre’s fundraising activities. They will develop and implement the fundraising strategy, ensuring income goals are achieved in the short, medium and long-term through direct relationship building, input to programme design, concept note drafting and deployment of the CEO and Senior Directors. They will be part of the organisational Management Team, working closely with colleagues to deliver on the organisational strategy.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic planning and management
- Lead on the delivery of the 2025-2027 fundraising strategy, adjusting as required, ensuring that Videre has the resources to deliver on its mission and strategic goals.
- Lead on maintaining our backbone infrastructure of prospect research, concept note coordination and drafting and deployment of senior staff (including yourself) into the right spaces with the right messages and background information.
- Track progress against the fundraising strategy, with regular reporting to senior management and the Board of Trustees against strategic indicators and outcomes, and pro-actively address any potential shortfalls.
- Maintain detailed and accurate income projections and forecasts, liaising with the Head of Finance & Compliance to closely monitor organisational cash flow.
- Line manage the Trust & Foundation Officer (expected to hire in late 2025), providing close support on operational tasks, time management and prioritisation, and pro-actively supporting professional development.
- Monitor external donor trends and adapt plans accordingly to ensure Videre remains well placed to secure funding over the long-term.
- Contribute to long-term organisational planning and positioning, and proactively identify aligned funding environments and opportunities.
- Fully participate and contribute to the Management Team, raising fundraising matters where appropriate and helping ensure the organisation achieves its strategic mission.
- Manage the fundraising budget to ensure most effective use of resources.
Donor cultivation, approaches, and retention
- With the CEO, develop and maintain strong working relationships across Videre’s donor portfolio, ensuring timely and responsive communications with all existing and potential funders, including institutional donors, private foundations, trusts, individuals, and other partner organisations.
- Lead the development of cultivation strategies for existing and potential donors and manage their implementation.
- Develop materials, including proposals, grant applications, and supporting documentation tailored to the donor audience, ensuring accuracy, fit, and timely submission.
- Collaborate closely with Head of Finance & Compliance to prepare proposal and grant application budgets.
- Conduct prospect research and monitor new funding opportunities, analyse donor trends and maintain relevant knowledge on donor priorities, rules and requirements.
- Analyse the reasons for success or failure of funding proposals, extracting and applying learning to improve the success rate of future funding applications.
- Ensure adherence to Videre’s Ethical Funding Policy, carrying out due diligence on funding sources where appropriate
- Support regional staff with the development of strategic relationships with in-country donor offices and government embassies.
- Maintain comprehensive records of contacts, meetings and points of cultivation with all donors, and ensure proper follow up.
Grant management and reporting
- Lead on the preparation and submission of high-quality donor progress reports, coordinating teams as required for input.
- Ensure contract information is maintained and recorded accurately.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system to ensure timely submission of proposals, reports and acknowledgements.
- Liaise with the Head of Finance & Compliance to support organisational and donor audits.
Other
- Ensure Videre’s website and donor portal are regularly updated and effectively communicate the organisations values, mission and activities.
- Further organisational Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goals by ensuring project teams are equal partners during the creation of funding strategy, proposal development, reporting, and the creation of key communications materials.

The New Donor Acquisition Manager provides project management and execution support for the coordination and implementation of new donor acquisition under the supervision the Associate Director of New Donor Acquisition. This positive and enthusiastic direct marketer will ensure that all campaigns meet our aligned goals in each of IFAW’s European markets. - Assist in the execution of IFAW’s European Acquisition and Reactivation mailings, face to face campaigns, telemarketing campaigns, direct response television, print campaigns, text and online campaigns.
- Ensure that campaigns are executed in a timely manner to achieve critical campaign dates.
- Provide daily management of external vendors to assist with execution of the acquisition strategy ensuring all campaigns are on track and implement changes where necessary.
- Manage the technical coding for campaign creation and analysis. Manage the internal discussions and data flows to ensure that income and supporter histories are recorded appropriately.
- Independently analyze results and trends and make recommendations for tactical and/or strategic adjustments to improve results and efficiencies.
- Monitor the Acquisition & Reactivation expense budget while reporting any changes and/or deviations. Assist with monthly financial and results forecasting.
- Create campaign briefings for vendors, internal staff and country offices for all fundraising campaigns. Provide creative input and make recommendations and changes to improve costs and response metrics.
- Manage office communications regarding supporter complaints or queries. Act as a liaison between IFAW and vendors. Utilizing project management skills, devise a tracking process and manage implementation.
- Provide project management skills to track information to and from vendors: data files, file samples, costs, invoices and campaign results. Proactively seek to resolve schedule conflicts, data transmission in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage worldwide inventory of ancillary collateral material. Monitor and manage stock and premium inventory and reprint when necessary. Develop ancillary product inventory printing and process for new channels as they emerge.
- Develop new acquisition marketing collateral for Face to Face vendors, using the developed proposition and key brand messages.
- Provide necessary information to outside vendors, creative services and production to execute the agreed upon strategy. Continuously review to ensure this information is fresh, on brand and successful.
- Manage Face to Face donor complaint process in partnership with Donor Relations team and multiple vendors.
- Proof read and edit design and copy on printed components, ensuring that all mailings are error-free and country specific versions have been reviewed and approved.
- Manage collateral communication streams where necessary and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 3-5 years of direct marketing fundraising or project management experience. Animal Welfare/Environmental experience is a plus.
- Highly organized, motivated, self-starting, and detail oriented.
- Ability to produce effectively and accurately while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Must possess excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to think critically and proactively respond to work requests, using sharp problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Asana, Outlook, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, Word) and database management, with advanced experience with Excel.
- Ability to manage projects through outside vendors and internal staff.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an integrated, diverse, team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Second language a plus.
- Relevant experience or a University degree, preferably in marketing, business or a related field, is preferred.
