Home-Start Barnet (HSB) delivers personalised, early intervention programmes to families with young children, who have multiple needs and are struggling to cope with the challenges they face. Our trained volunteers provide the emotional support needed to prevent crisis and the practical tools to empower parents and carers to give their children the best start in life.
The Operations and Communications Administrator will proactively facilitate this work by being a central point of contact and by offering key administrative support across the organisation. They will be a self-starter, well organised and committed to the cause.
The role is based at our offices in Finchley, N3. We ideally require someone to be present in the office 5 days a week, but there can be flexibilty for the right candidate. This would suit someone who would like to work shorter days or around other commitments. About the role
You will:
-Provide direct advocacy support to children and young people children and young people experiencing, or at risk, of homelessness. You will hold a caseload, and be committed to championing the rights of these young people, working with a broad range of other stakeholders and agencies to do so.
-Support with developing the quality of services and projects delivered by Coram Voice to children and young people. This includes under Coram Voice’s Homelessness Outreach Project.
-You will support in the promotion of good practice across both Coram Voice and external organisations, building equitable and inclusive practice across the sector for homeless children and young people.
Our advocates will have relevant experience with children and young people, and may hold a suitable Advocacy Qualification. For the right candidate, we may also be able to offer this post as a Trainee position, and offer support to gain qualifications. The salary offered will reflect the candidate’s experience and skills.

Our current Support & Outreach (S&O) team is managed by our S&O Programme Manager and comprises two part-time S&O coordinators who have lived experience of aplastic anaemia. THE OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity is for a permanent contract, starting immediately, with a six-month probation period. You will work 14 hours a week during core working hours, your working hours can be arranged flexibly to suit you although we will require you to attend staff meetings which take place on Thursday mornings.

This is a new role that will be responsible for overseeing the quality, development and evaluation of the Young Citizens’ education offer for children and young people – with a specific focus on resources and training.
The Education and Impact Manager will project manage our work across subject areas (social, democratic and legal education) and across educational phases (mainly primary and secondary). In addition, this role will lead our evaluation processes so we can evidence the impact and outcomes of our work against our theory of change.
Role snapshot:
- Review and develop our educational resources and training offer
- Project manage the delivery of new and updated materials/training and liaise with our internal team as well as external partners in their effective delivery and dissemination
- Oversee their implementation in different settings, writing some personally and using freelance contributors and/or corporate volunteers
- Create and implement an impact measurement framework that feeds into our theory of change and that meets that reporting requirements of our funders and partners
- Develop consistent mechanisms to generate effective and resource-conscious evaluation and feedback to inform decision-making and development
- Manage the staff or freelance contributors responsible for developing our learning resources – ensuring that goals and targets are set in line with organisational plans
- Actively manage corporate partners to provide key updates around any contracted development
Who are we looking for?
We believe the ideal candidate is passionate about writing and developing quality and engaging educational resources for school aged children.
You will have up-to-date knowledge of the UK educational system and detailed knowledge of the PSHE and/or citizenship curriculums for schools.
You will have strong interpersonal skills and project management skills with demonstratable experience working collaboratively and proactively with key stakeholders to deliver high standards of work.

Purpose
We’re looking for someone who wants to combine their passion for social change with their commitment to digital communications. The person in this role will line manage a small and talented team of two officers (Marketing and Content, and Digital Communications), and should enjoy supporting others to flourish through a kind and relational approach.
Part of a busy department of specialists in communications (including digital and press), public affairs and policy, you will play a critical role in shaping our digital engagement strategy through our website, social media channels and email marketing. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Community Outreach Coordinator to join our growing, dynamic team. This role will support the development of a community hub attached to our charity retail “ReStore” in Romford—the first of its kind in the UK. Globally, over 1,000 ReStores operate with the mission of upcycling unwanted home materials to support low-income households and promote a circular economy.
Beyond being a retail space, our ReStore aims to become a community hub offering additional targeted activities and services to those most vulnerable to housing insecurity. Our pilot programme will focus on supporting women recovering from domestic abuse or trafficking. These women will access free essential goods from the store, and benefit from workshops and courses such as upholstery, upcycling, art therapy, employability, confidence-building, and practical life skills.
Main Responsibilities
We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to design and maintain all community outreach activities. The Community Outreach Coordinator will represent Habitat GB, working with the leadership team to develop and implement initiatives that increase the community hub’s visibility and impact.
This position will:

We’re an award-winning charity running local learning centres in the heart of the communities where the young people we support live. Our centres provide a high impact education programme which include practical learning support, pastoral care, and motivational and confidence-building activities for young people aged 7-18. Our aim is to enable students from the least advantaged neighbourhoods to realise their ambitions and achieve their wonderful potential.
As the UK’s leading university access organisation, our staff team is helping 52,000 young people each year at its 41 learning centres and extension projects across England and Scotland, and we plan to scale-up our provision to 50 centres over the coming years.
We are looking someone who will thrive in a varied and innovative role as a Project Worker in the Adult and Family Learning team working across our centres in Govan and Maryhill (Glasgow) with frequent travel Craigmillar (Edinburgh). This is a new and exciting team at the charity, focusing on how we can offer additional impactful support in the local communities in which our Scotland centres are based. The Adult and Family Learning team will work in close collaboration with colleagues at the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The pilot will focus on supporting the parents, carers and families of young people accessing the centres, with the potential for this to extend to wider adults in the community. As a Project Worker you will deliver the programme and support the Adult and Family Learning Manager to plan and develop activities tailored according to and with an understanding of the different communities in which it will be offered. Working with colleagues based at the three centres, you will provide a range of activities which will support parents and carers to support their children in their learning, develop their own skills and knowledge around employment and education, and provide a range of family learning activities to engage the whole family together.

Contract
Full-time, fixed term until 31 August 2025, with the potential for extension

Working hours
Normal working hours: Mon and Thurs: 09:30-18:00 Tues, Weds, Fri: 09:00-17:30
Some out-of-hours work will be required from time to time. This is a new project and the team will be developing programmes for parents and carers, which may result, for example, in some workshops running during the evening for a set of period of time (with a later start on the day of the workshop).
Programme delivery staff are based at one of our IntoUniversity learning centres and work directly with young people and families on a regular basis. It is therefore not a hybrid role and is based full-time in our centres.
Salary
£27,400 per annum
Location
One of the IntoUniversity centres in Glasgow, with frequent travel between Glasgow and Edinburgh for this role.
Annual leave
36 days (33 days leave inc. bank & public holidays + 3 closure days, two in December and one in July) + up to 5 days additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5)
