Tall Ships Youth Trust (TSYT) is a youth development outdoor learning charity which has been improving the skills and life chances of disadvantaged young people since 1956.

We envision a world where all young people strive to create better outcomes for themselves and for their communities. To do this, out on the ocean we empower young people to realise their true potential, supporting them on their journey to adulthood and for some, into volunteering and careers in the maritime sector and the blue economy.

Utilising our fleet of four 72ft Challenger yachts and a 55ft ketch, we were able to support more than 1,200 young people last year. 80% were from disadvantaged backgrounds; 40% were female; and 25% identified as belonging to the global majority. Our aim is to significantly increase the numbers we support over the next few years.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Trusts & Grants fundraiser to join our small, hardworking team.

The role holder will contribute towards achieving our ambitious yearly income target by helping to maintain our well-established Trusts & Grants portfolio, as well as identifying new funding opportunities as we seek to grow and diversify this income stream.

Responsibilities will include developing and submitting winning funding proposals, reporting on funds spent, and excellent stewardship. The role will form part of the Fundraising, Digital and Marketing team, and will sit alongside our current Trusts & Grants fundraiser, supported by the Head of Fundraising and Marketing.

The ideal candidate will have experience in successful Trusts & Grants income generation, including report writing and demonstrating the impact of funding. They will need excellent written skills, communication skills and good attention to detail.

Our intention is for this role to be covered for three days a week, but the successful candidate will have the opportunity to negotiate their preferred working pattern.

We are recruiting a Legacy Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ legacy income by creating and implementing a multi-year legacy strategy, planning and delivering activities in this area and managing residuary, specific and pecuniary cases. 

What you will do: 

• Develop and implement a legacy strategy and operational plan for long term growth.

• Research and develop new legacy activities and create a marketing plan. Project manage the day-to-day planning and delivery of activities central to the legacy marketing program, including: direct mail, email marketing, digital, social media, events, and the promotion of tribute funds and free will services.

• Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and communications team to develop a compelling legacy proposition and produce a suite of legacy and in memory marketing materials that can be used to engage and inspire supporters to take the next step in their legacy giving, including sharing inspiring, compelling case studies to support legacy marketing and in memory activity, including gathering stories from legacy and in memory supporters.

• Work across income generation and with other departments to identify and target legacy prospects within the existing supporter base and other potential legacy audiences across all of PAPYRUS’ networks.

• Identify opportunities to cross promote legacy and in memory giving to supporters as well as any activity from across the charity that could provide appropriate cultivation and stewardship opportunities for existing and prospective Legacy and In Memory supporters.

• Provide teams with relevant, engaging and impactful content, messaging or resources for inclusion in cross-team supporter communications.

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• English and Maths GCSE or equivalent grade C or above

• Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity 

• Proven track record of effective relationship management with donors/ fundraisers

• Experience of handling sensitive information appropriately 

• Experience of working effectively within a team environment and assisting colleagues 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write reports. 

• Experience using Raiser’s edge or a similar CRM database.

The Events Fundraiser will be responsible for managing the portfolio of challenge events including the marketing; on the day delivery; first class stewardship and participant support from sign up to event completion and volunteer recruitment and management.

Due to the nature of our work, you will be required to attend some events and meetings throughout our catchment area which can be during weekends, early mornings or evenings.

Position: Corporate Fundraiser

Location: East Molesey office (opposite Hampton Court Station) with some home working

 Main Purpose of the Role

Momentum Children’s Charity’s fundraising team is highly ambitious, driven by our goal to help families of seriously ill children in London, Surrey and Sussex to keep moving forward. Corporate income currently comprises circa 18% of the overall income. But with our expansion in hospital partnership geography, and aspiration to provide support to more families in the future, the expansion of this income stream will be key to this growth.

Working with the Corporate Partnerships Lead, this person will enjoy helping to develop all facets of the corporate fundraising area, working with and forging relationships with businesses to develop opportunities, fundraising and charitable giving, provide outstanding stewardship and relationship management, as well as helping to research and grow a healthy, robust pipeline of new opportunities.

Essential

• Knowledge or experience of working in a charity

Are you an experienced Fundraiser looking for your next challenge? You will work on a variety of income streams with a strong focus on recruiting community relationships and developing supporter-led activity.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan for and deliver income to target through agreed Key Performance Indicators

· Acquire and develop new supporters in a planned way to achieve income targets and drive growth

· Lead on key projects to contribute to income generation

· Champion and facilitate consistent and exceptional supporter care experience

· Ensure that all touch points have been recorded accurately and consistently on the database in a timely manner to facilitate integrated supporter care

Key Knowledge & Experience

· Track record of achieving fundraising growth and delivering income

We are recruiting a Challenge Events Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ challenge event income by leading on allocated PAPYRUS own events, projects and campaigns and managing all third-party challenge events.

What you will do:

· Develop an events plan that will grow income using data from previous years to understand our supporters and build a creative and sustainable income plan for long term growth.

· Build and manage relationships with supporters across all communication channels and provide professional, relevant, timely and empathetic stewardship at all times.

· Raise awareness of PAPYRUS and its work by developing and delivering presentations and talks both online and face to face to supporters and facilitating necessary photo opportunities in line with GDPR for use if future promotional activity

· Manage costs and budgets for events, including forecasting, estimates and future year planning.

· Be proactive seeking out new initiatives and market trends in fundraising across the UK charitable sector.

· Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of PAPYRUS challenge event fundraising assets, collateral, materials, and policies and procedures ensuring all content is on brand and to a high standard.

· Working with colleagues in Business Support Services to use the data collected across all donation platforms to analyse and inform required reports and update existing reporting mechanisms.

To be successful in this role you will have:

· Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity

· Experience of successfully managing a portfolio of third-party events

· Proven track record of successful relationship management with donors/ fundraisers

· Proven track record of working effectively in a team

· Experience in creating and monitoring budgets

· Experience using Raiser’s edge or a similar CRM database.

· Knowledge of regulatory environment for fundraising from events fundraising including sponsorship, data protection, Gift Aid (incl GASDS) and Fundraising Codes of Practice and regulation

· Good knowledge of data selection, data analysis, insight and application of datasets for maximum success

· Understanding of events fundraising

· Competence in the use of IT tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Ability to work some unsocial hours and travel to meetings / events as required across the UK

As a Grant and Community Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in our Fundraising team, helping us secure the funding necessary to sustain and enhance our vital services, primarily in the Bedfordshire area. The role offers flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home, coupled with in-community engagements. This role is pivotal in cultivating relationships and elevating the visibility of our charity’s mission, to generate new and sustainable income streams.

This role offers variety and challenges for an experienced fundraiser who can hit the ground running. 

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 - 5/5.30, hybrid working with travel across our services, which are based around London, Brighton, Kent, Essex, Luton, Bedford, Liverpool, and Nottingham. For this position, most of the travel will be within Bedfordshire. This role will be based from our Penrose Synergy office in Luton.

The Fundraising Team is currently the size of 3 (Yourself, the Grant Manager & Writer, and the Head of Fundraising, Marketing, and Communications). You will report to the Grant Manager & Writer.

What we are looking for:

• Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this can include in a fundraising and/or sales capacity which has direct transferrable skills.  
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, advanced knowledge in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability and willingness to travel to various services and locations for visits and events
• Ability to carry out research and lead on outreach and partnership building initiatives in various locations which can include locations of rural communities
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
• Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people who experience multiple complex disadvantages

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

FUNDRAISING

• Be a point of contact for fundraising, ensuring a positive experience for funders and managing financial transactions to agreed fundraising policies and processes.
• Develop a regional Grant Programme, focusing on unrestricted income and feeding into fundraising management reporting. 
• Identify, research, and communicate income and partnership opportunities, working proactively with colleagues across the Group to scope fundable initiatives that provide added value. 
• Work alongside the team to develop high-quality grant funding applications, cases for support, and budgets. Complete the end-to-end process, ensuring all applications are thorough and competitive.
• Oversee grant reporting and invoicing, ensuring prompt fulfilment in line with all grant agreements and reporting requirements, liaising with relevant teams across the Group. 
• Plan, implement and manage various campaigns and activities, which may include but are not limited to local events, national events, outreach, and fundraising opportunities.

PARTNERSHIP BUILDING

• Attend networking events to build engagement and partnerships with local and national organisations.
• Build a rolling calendar of charity of the year application deadlines. Provide excellent stewardship, using innovative ways to keep all parties engaged and informed of relevant news and updates by SIG.
• Support partners in fundraising endeavours and signposting to new and existing opportunities.

What we would like, but not essential:

• Previous experience in writing successful grant applications to Charitable Trusts and Foundations
• Previous experience working in a customer-facing role
• Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline which can include Marketing, English, Business Management
• Experience in a similar size organisation and/or charity sector organisation
• Confidence in presenting to varying audiences
• Proficiency in navigating online and offline fundraising tools and systems
• Knowledge of Health and Social Care, Best Practice, and the support needs of vulnerable people within society
