Our purpose is simple, to save lives at sea. Since the 19th century, our crews have been risking their lives to save those who are in danger of drowning.
We're looking for an experienced Trusts and Grants Manager to join our Trusts and Grants team to look after a portfolio of prospects and grantmakers to help raise funds for our lifesaving work. This will be a full-time, permanent post. 4 days may be considered for the right candidate. Securing gifts from Trusts and Grantmakers will help bring our brave lifeboat crews home safely and provide the training and protective gear our crews and lifeguards need to save lives.
Your role
You will work as part of a supportive and collaborative team to help develop and steward a portfolio of Trusts, identifying new funders and projects and building sustainable long-term relationships with supporters in order to meet agreed financial targets and deliver our Trust fundraising strategy. You will:
- Manage the stewardship of a portfolio of Trust supporters, making timely applications, delivering targeted reports and developing relationships in line with your stewardship plans.
- Be responsible for developing your pipeline to research and apply to lapsed and prospective Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making bodies whose objectives and interests fit with our work.
- Work collaboratively with programme and finance colleagues across the RNLI to identify projects and creatively package exciting funding opportunities to open doors to new prospects.
- Build well-crafted, ‘stand-out’ grant applications and impact reports with detailed budgets and timelines that clearly demonstrate to funders the impact of their donations.
- Through emotionally intelligent relationship management, keep funders engaged and excited about our work and inspire them to continue to give.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and regional teams to identify creative approaches to new and existing funders.
- As one of a small team of Trusts and Grant Managers, support the rest of the team by gathering and sharing project and third sector information.
- Maintain excellent record-keeping to ensure accurate reporting and grant management in line with GDPR and accounting good practice.
The role is offered as a homebased or hybrid role. Some travel will be required.
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated Trusts and Grants Manager with:
- Experience of prospecting for large gifts and managing large donor relationships in a Trust fundraising environment or very similar discipline.
- Experience of working with project managers to identify and create attractive funding packages.
- Excellent attention to detail with experience of writing high quality, creative and compelling fundraising proposals and reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and confidence in building internal and external relationships at all levels.
- Good personal resilience and an ability to work on your own initiative to manage projects and multi-task, plan and set priorities.
- A good understanding of the trust fundraising environment.
- A good understanding of financial reporting and experience in managing your own income pipeline.
- Excellent organisational skills with an understanding of the importance of good record-keeping.

This is a new role giving you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker and as a practical fundraiser. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, proactive and imaginative fundraiser to make real impact and drive growth in the Peak District. The Foundation is at a step change in its development, and as such is investing in growing its staff numbers. The Foundation recruited its first Director in Summer 2023, and we are now seeking a Fundraising Manager to join the Foundation during this exciting period of growth.
You will work as part of a small team to deliver our fundraising strategy – we aim to grow fundraised income to £1 million annually by 2027 to fund vital work in the National Park, including moorland restoration and climate change mitigation, biodiversity and habitat preservation, and work with young people and under-served communities.

Your experience in writing tailored and high quality applications will be key and an asset to the team!
You'll bring your previous experience as a trust fundraiser to hit the ground running and pick up the current portfolio whilst also exploring and researching new avenues for trusts and grant application potential that will leverage a range of opportunities available.

Overall Purpose of the Head of Research
The Philanthropy and Trusts Manager is an exciting new role at Guts UK and will be integral to delivering our new fundraising strategy, enabling us to grow our income to meet our ambitious strategic aims.
- You will be responsible for prospecting, soliciting, developing, engagement, stewardship and retaining key relationships with trust and foundations in line with Guts UK’s strategic framework.

- The Philanthropy and Trusts Manager won’t just lead the trusts and foundations programme, you will also manage and develop our corporate partnership portfolio with a focus on establishing new partnerships. The Baobab Centre is a non-residential therapeutic community that supports young asylum seekers and refugees who have experienced human rights abuses and have sought asylum in the UK as unaccompanied minors. Our two focus areas are rehabilitation and justice.
This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and experienced fundraiser to progress further in their career, with the freedom to creatively enhance and develop the fundraising strategy of an impactful community-based charity.
As Senior Fundraising Lead you will be Baobab’s key fundraiser and a self-starter with experience of working in a small or medium sized charity. You will lead on the development of fundraising at Baobab, exploring new avenues for funding, as well as nurturing and growing existing fundraising relationships. You will be responsible for strategising and carrying out a successful program of fundraising from small, medium and large charitable trusts and foundations to an agreed annual fundraising target. You will also assist in delivering Baobab’s individual major donor programme, helping to set up and deliver communications and events related to this income stream. There is scope to explore further fundraising activites including events, corporate and community fundraising. You will play a central role and work closely with our operations team, as well as recieving expert monthly mentoring from a senoir fundraising consultant.
This role is for 4 or 5 days per week depending on your preference, it will include Fridays which is when staff meetings are held.

Due to their experiences it takes time to gain trust from the young people in our community. As a core member of our team, you will understand the impact of specific human rights abuses on the development of children and young people in exile and their individual experiences of loss, trauma and grief on their mental health and well-being.
Baobab’s Model: Please read the accompanying ‘Baobab Clincial Context and Model’ document for a detailed introduction. It often takes a significant amount of time to understand Baobab’s model of working, which aims for rehabilitation and justice through attending to both the internal and external world of each young. As Fundraising Manager, you will effectively lead, inspire, develop and manage the income growth of the Psoriasis Association through implementing highly successful fundraising initiatives. We are seeking an adept and skilled fundraiser with expertise in Individual Giving and with knowledge of associated disciplines (e.g. legacies, in memoriam). You should have a track record of achieving fundraising income targets across a range of income streams and demonstrate an ability to work with initiative, think creatively and with excellent attention to detail.
You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Psoriasis Association, promoting all our fundraising activities and maximising income generation opportunities.
Some key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement the Psoriasis Association’s Income Generation Strategy.
- Produce and execute an effective and sustainable Individual Giving plan to grow income from new and existing donors. Develop new initiatives based on insight and evidence.
- Grow and develop the Psoriasis Association’s legacy income stream.
- Oversee and manage the fundraising budget.
- General management activities – such as budgeting, planning, strategy development.

QuarterFive are delighted to be partnering with The Orpheus Centre, which supports young disabled adults to live and work as independently as they are able. They do this through developing their confidence and independent living skills, using arts-based, bespoke learning, work experience and supported living programmes delivered from their base in Surrey. All of their learners are learning disabled and some are also physically disabled.
The Orpheus Centre is located at a beautiful converted farm that provides teaching and performance spaces and self-contained accommodation. However, their success in enabling these young people to thrive means that they are over subscribed every year and have outgrown the current facilities.
The capital appeal will convert a building next to the Centre to allow for more learners to enrol, in particular more learners with more complex needs. Currently, the quiet phase is projected for 2024-2027, with the build phase being projected for 2027-2029.
The Head of Capital Appeal will sit on the SMT, reporting to the CEO, and be responsible for leading a small team of fundraisers also dedicated to raising funds for the build. While there will be a team to support, the Head of Capital Appeal will spend most of their time personally fundraising as well. There are existing opportunities, including a well-connected President (also the Founder), a Capital Appeal Committee which will be set up, and an existing pool of donors. A focus on new business, however, will also be crucial for the success of the project.
As Head of Capital Appeal, you will:
- Develop, implement and monitor the private and public phases of the capital appeal strategy to enable the Orpheus Centre to meet the appeal target
- Establish a high performing capital appeal committee of volunteers to cultivate and steward potential significant donors
- Deliver target income from a range of sources, primarily major donors, trusts and foundations and statutory sources, but not discounting other viable income streams
- Personally secure significant major gifts for the capital project
- Design, recruit and lead a team of fundraisers to support on fundraising for the capital project
- Research and identify potential funders for the capital project
- Work closely with the build project team, to ensure clear communication between the funding and the building of the project
- Provide timely reports for Senior Management Team and Trustees to facilitate effective cash flow management and decision making
Ideal skills and experience:
- Significant experience in a senior high value fundraising role
- Demonstrable experience of securing 5- and 6-figure major gifts
- Extensive track record in working with trusts, major donors and statutory funders
- Experience of line managing teams of fundraisers
- Ability to adapt to different audiences, including donors, senior volunteers, team members, learners and all colleagues in the wider organisation
- Experience in managing senior level volunteers and fundraising committees
- Understanding of disability language and issues
- Ability to demonstrate an appreciation of the arts
