As Jangala enters a critical phase of growth, we are scaling up our operations to meet our ambitious target of connecting four million people by 2030. The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in driving this expansion by developing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives, expanding our network of supporters, and ensuring the sustainability of our programs. Key responsibilities will include:

Core Requirements:

Proven experience in fundraising, with a track record of achieving with a track record of achieving six figure grants or contracts.

Important details
Jangala’s office is based in London and operates a remote-first working policy. Travel to our London office will be required for mind-mapping and collaborative work at least once a week.

The Individual Giving and Legacies Manager role sits within the charity’s Public Fundraising team, which as well as Individual Giving, Legacies and In-Memory Fundraising, includes Events and Community Fundraising.

You will be working with supporters to answer their questions about legacy and in-memory giving, and working with the next of kin to ensure that their loved one's legacy is cherished.

You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as being a collaborative team member. You will be supported by the Head of Public Fundraising to achieve transformational results across Individual Giving and Legacies. Harris Hill are delighted to be working with Breast Cancer Now to recruit a Fundraising Compliance Officer. This newly created position will support the Fundraising Compliance Manager to ensure fundraising and marketing activities meet the highest standards in an ever-changing regulatory landscape.
This varied role will work collaboratively with fundraising colleagues across the charity. No day will feel the same, as you provide expert advice and assurance on a diverse range of fundraising products and marketing communications, this includes TV ads, prize competitions, social lotteries, and direct marketing campaigns. The role will work closely with individual giving team and our professional fundraising agencies to assure they are meeting compliance commitments.
Key tasks will include;
- Responding to enquires and providing compliance guidance regarding fundraising activities and products
- Managing the internal compliance inbox.
- Supporting the fundraising team to monitor professional fundraisers
- Producing and applying guidance materials, policies and training materials based on fundraising related regulations and best practice.
This position would suit a candidate with fundraising knowledge or experience but would like to use their skills in a different way. About the role
The main objectives of this role will be to provide excellent supporter care to Shelter’s fundraisers, which will involve building relationships and giving fundraising and event support and advice and providing efficient administrative support to the department. We want to give you scope to grow into a confident and successful fundraiser, so you will receive training and provide supporter care and admin support across a variety of community & events activities, events and products across all three teams.
About you
Communicating with a variety of people: you will enjoy communicating with people in a variety of different ways, over the phone, face to face, by email, letter and over social media channels.
Time management & organisation: there’s a lot to do, particularly when we have fundraising products live and during the busy winter fundraising period, so it’s important to be able to manage your time well. The team has a really positive collective attitude to helping you do this, and they will suggest different tools and methods to stay on top of your work. But your being organised from the get-go is important.
Attention to detail: in all tasks, you will need to have a good eye for detail to make sure work is completed with a high level of accuracy.
Proactive: there are many activities to get involved with at Shelter, so being proactive ensures you get as much from your role as possible. Within your role you need to take initiative in setting up meetings, asking questions and suggesting/trying new ideas. Beyond this, taking advantage of volunteering in our shops or at events, and visiting local Shelter Hubs, is a great way to understand the cause and sector.
Willingness to be busy: everyone in the team has lots to do and has a range of responsibilities across different areas. To be successful in this role, you need to be willing to be busy during the working day and enjoy the variety this brings.
Flexibility: as this role will support work across the wider Community & Events team throughout the year, it is vital that the successful candidate is adaptable and willing to get stuck into different activities when needed. There will be occasional evening and weekend work to support events, for which time off in lieu will be given.

About the team
The Supporter Experience team at Shelter exists to provide expert stewardship to build deep long-term relationships, enhancing the supporter experience to drive income now and increase lifetime values. We ensure supporters feel valued and appreciated by Shelter and understand the impact of their support. We’re part of a wider Community & Events team that sits within an Income Generation directorate.
Together, we look after a wide variety of fundraising activities to help fund our mission to ensure a safe home for all. Your team are welcoming and supportive, we work hard but try to have a lot of fun as well. Your line manager will be there to support you and encourage your personal development and you’ll have the opportunity to progress within the Community & Events team and beyond.

As a Finance Manager, you will take responsibility for managing the organisation's finances and supporting its mission of offering education, training, and experiences to the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the CEO with the preparation of the annual budget.
- Prepare cashflow forecasts, management accounts, and financial reports on a monthly and annual basis.
- Handle payroll and expenses claims.
- Manage the bookkeeping systems and ensure all payments are made on time.
- Work with project staff and the CEO on budgeting and financial management of projects, ensuring restricted income is appropriately tracked.
- Collaborate with the Fundraiser to analyse financial pipelines.
- Oversee statutory returns including Gift Aid and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Liaise with auditors and prepare final accounts.
- Ensure the farm's financial systems comply with statutory requirements and best practices.
Governance and Compliance:
- Assist the CEO and Trustees in preparing for Finance Committee meetings, reports, and minutes.
- Maintain and update the organisation's risk register.
- Ensure insurance cover is adequate and renewed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Proven professional experience managing finances in a small charity.
- Appropriate accounting qualifications (AAT/CIMA/ACA/ACCA).
- Experience with financial packages, with knowledge of QuickBooks being desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with VAT returns.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to anticipate and address financial needs.
- High levels of integrity and confidentiality in managing sensitive information.
