Summary of Role
We are looking for someone to join Choose Love who has demonstrable experience in designing, setting up and maintaining a user-friendly and efficient supporter database and who has a deep commitment to positively impacting the lives of displaced people around the world. The successful candidate will also have strong analytical skills and be passionate about understanding trends and patterns from our donations, which can help us increase our fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection, Management and Analysis:

Maintain and oversee all Choose Love data, ensuring all data is accurate, up-to-date and clean.

Work with the digital strategist and head of communications to scope and assess the most effective and efficient ways for Choose Love to collect, process, analyse, and report on data, feeding it into the mid and long-term strategy.

Work closely with external suppliers, leading on data management and systems.

Support finance team and digital strategist in tracking donations to key fundraising appeals, including emergency fundraisers and winter fundraising campaigns.

Manage data flows across our different platforms and support the implementation of automation processes where appropriate.

Work closely with departments across the organisations, specifically Comms & Marketing, Partnerships and Programmes and respond to internal requests for fundraising data analysis and reporting.

Create monthly reports on fundraising performance across comms activities to share with the team and embed best practices in future fundraising content.
Fundraising and Donor Optimisation:

Work with digital strategists to optimise fundraising communications and reporting.

Integrate data analysis into digital fundraising strategy.

Analyse the performance of fundraising campaigns and recommend improvements.

Segment audiences for fundraising campaigns based on various criteria (e.g., donation history, demographics) through managing datasets.

Develop predictive models to forecast future donations and help identify potential major donors.

Use data to tell compelling stories that resonate with donors, supporters, and the public.
Continuous Learning and Compliance:

Stay up-to-date with data analytics tools, techniques, and best practices to enhance your skills and contribute effectively.

Ensure that data handling practices comply with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR)

Be mindful of ethical issues related to data usage, especially when dealing with sensitive information about displaced people.
Essential Criteria:

Extensive experience with different database systems and knowledge of data maintenance

Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Excel to an advanced level

Proficient in data analysis tools with extensive experience of cleaning, manipulating, and analysing data effectively

Understanding of statistical concepts to draw meaningful insights from data and to assess the effectiveness of fundraising campaigns and support programs

Experience creating clear and informative data visualisations (e.g., graphs, charts, dashboards)

In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes (target of £1.3m in 2024). An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Major Gifts fundraiser to join the successful Development team at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew as Senior Development Manager, Major Gifts on a 12-month fixed term maternity cover contract. The role works as a key strategic partner to the Associate Director, Major Gifts & Individual Giving and leads the Major Gifts team of two Development Managers to ensure long-term growth of income from major donors and management of the overall Major Gifts pipeline. The post-holder will lead on the development and delivery of a major donor giving group around Kew’s Palm House restoration project and the continued development of a strategy for increasing income raised from donors in the US.
This role is based at Kew with the option of regular home working, subject to operational requirements.
You will need a strong track record of developing and maintaining successful one-to-one relationships with individual high net worth donors and a demonstrable record of meeting challenging financial targets. You will have a strong understanding of effective major-gift fundraising techniques, the motivations for high net-worth individuals, excellent analytical skills and judgement combined with a highly professional and diplomatic approach. As the Senior Face to Face Fundraising Officer, working with a Direct Marketing Manager, you will help to deliver the direct marketing campaigns and income goals by:

Key responsibilities

- Provide first point of contact for all Face to Face/Direct Dialogue agency partners for campaign activity across Private Site, Door to Door and Telemarketing - Welcome Calling.
- Assist the Direct Marketing Manager on the development of annual strategic and operational plans for multiple Direct Dialogue fundraising campaigns across Regular Giving and Lottery.
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Prior experience working either as a Fundraiser or experience working within a charity, with strong knowledge of fundraising regulations (an understanding of areas such as; fundraising compliance, data protection, fundraising regulations, gambling commission regulations)
- Prior experience of presenting or running training sessions to small to medium sized groups either face to face or via a remote setting. Creating engaging and inspiring content for training sessions
- Excellent skills in engaging, inspiring and motivating others to achieve targets and deliver against campaign objectives.
- Experience of monitoring, planning or implementing projects and/or campaigns to agreed standards.

Key Areas
Marketing and stewardship
- Increase participant numbers on events through comprehensive and diverse marketing campaigns.

- Establishing a clear payment schedule for both sides for marketing contributions and donations.
- Track performance including registration numbers and income – reporting back to all parties.
- Undertake analysis work to improve understanding of current audience demographics and their interests, reviewing this regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Undertake regular competitor analysis work to scope trends and gaps in the marketplace – looking at how we benchmark ourselves against our competitors.
- Support on the strategic planning devised by all partners, providing insight learnt from the portfolio and audience analysis to help shape this.

- Keep up to date with sector knowledge to ensure best practice.
- Identify new trends and scope out new product development.
- Support all elements of event delivery (including volunteer recruitment, training weekends), attending UK and overseas events when required.
- Help identify and build relationships with relevant celebrities or influencers to contribute to the Women V Cancer marketing strategy
- Work alongside charity partners to develop supporter journeys for a series of UK and Overseas events which will increase conversion, average gift and retention.

Role Overview
We are looking for a talented fundraiser to join our small and supportive team. The Fundraising Officer (Trusts & Foundations & Events) is a new role to our charity and will play a key part in supporting our future plans.
UP attracts significant support from individuals, and there is huge potential to grow income from Trusts and Foundations with this increased capacity in the fundraising team.
In this role, with guidance from the Head of Fundraising, you will contribute toward income generation through researching and identifying Trusts and Foundations whose criteria match UP’s work, and developing compelling and inspirational proposals and grant applications. You will maintain the Trusts and Foundations pipeline, ensuring there is a steady stream of applications submitted to maximise funding opportunities, grow income and the number of multi-year grants.
While the primary focus for this role will be to grow income from Trusts & Foundations, you will also support the Head of Fundraising to develop the philanthropy programme.
