A global philanthropic organisation is currently seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their London-based team. The organisation works with partners globally to combat climate change and to drive positive change particular in areas globally which have been adversely affected by challenges related to climate change.

The Finance Business Partner position is a newly created role within the charity, created to facilitate significant recent and upcoming growth owing to the success of their programmes. This is a pivotal role for the organisation, coordinating and supporting a range of stakeholders including Directors and C-suite level individuals, in advising on the financial management and effectiveness on several of their key programmes.

Key duties of the role are as follows:

· Working with the internal programme teams to advise on current and new projects and programmes, including monitoring of in-project budgetary spend.

· Provision of analysis and commentary on financial and management reports tracking the projects’ financial progress and performance

· Support in establishing the annual budgeting for the programmes directorate.

· Undertake in-year forecasting of overall programme portfolio performance

· Undertake due diligence on new grant proposals and prospective grantee organisations

· Finance business partner with a range of non-finance stakeholders, including Director and C-Suite level individuals, to advise on financial performance and key risks

About You:

You will be a qualified accountant with experience in finance business partnering with non-finance stakeholders.

The Role

We are currently looking to recruit a Head of Finance at the Royal Osteoporosis Society. This is a key role within the Finance Team and one that will represent the function by being a member of the charity’s Leadership Team.

This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, proactive and imaginative fundraiser to make real impact and drive growth in the Peak District. The Foundation is at a step change in its development, and as such is investing in growing its staff numbers. Job Summary:

The Head of Finance and Property (HFP) will be responsible for overseeing and directing the financial activities of the charity and its trading subsidiary, and property. The Movement Collaboration Lead or Senior Movement Collaboration Lead (depending on experience) will work closely with the Programme Director and the Programme Team to lead the development and delivery of an exciting emerging programme of work building collaboration for economic system change between grassroots groups and new economy organisations. 

We are looking for people who are: passionate about addressing economic injustice, are excited about the role of collaboration in creating systems change and capable of creating partnerships and strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

The first twelve months of this programme will take an action inquiry approach to facilitate a mixed group of new economy organisations and grassroots groups through a collaborative process that will develop shared knowledge and practice about  how we  can effectively and equitably collaborate on economic systems change work through practical experiments, facilitated dialogue and collaborative research.

The role will involve responsibilities for project managing and delivering this work including programme development and delivery, developing partnerships, changemaker recruitment and support, conducting desk research and interviews, managing and running events, supporting project related fundraising, conducting project learning and evaluation and writing a learning report about the project. 

Following this first year we plan to scale work on supporting collaboration between grassroots groups and new economy organisations, subject to funding we hope this could become a permanent role.

All programme roles in the People’s Economy team support work across the programme team and we see a postholder likely working on the Action Inquiry for 0.4 FTE and supporting other work strands depending on their relevant skills, experiences and interests for 0.2 FTE.

The Vacancy

The Programme Development Manager is committed to supporting colleagues and partners in programme design and development. The team also connects programmatic issues and global policy and advocacy to ensure they are complementary and conducive to external change based on evidence from the ground.

Saferworld’s income is secured primarily from statutory and institutional donors; however, securing funding to support our partners in conflict-affected countries and allow for more flexible programming increasingly requires a more diverse funding base. The Programme Development Manager will support efforts to identify and secure funds from statutory donors, trusts and foundations, and other non-traditional funding mechanisms.

The Programme Development Manager will support a portfolio of Saferworld’s teams in designing and mobilising funding for peace, security and justice programmes. The successful applicant will have a focus of approximately 4 countries, which will be decided based on the candidate’s experience and preference. Working closely with Country Managers/Directors, and programme and grant management colleagues, the post-holder will lead on: coordinating and facilitating programme development processes (including taking the lead in drafting high quality concept notes and proposals, theories of change, logical models, risk matrixes and budgets); developing and supporting the implementation of long-term country funding strategies and donor engagement strategies; and supporting new donor engagement and sustaining relationships with current donors. The post-holder will be responsible for growing institutional funding portfolios in our programmes.

The post-holder will have a successful track record in developing programmes and leading new business development efforts with institutional donors such as the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), United States Government (USG)/United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the European Union (EU), UN agencies and European Governments such as Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). Additional experience in mobilising resource from trusts and foundations and other non-traditional funding mechanisms is desirable.

They will have proven skills and experience in programme management and support, successful programme design processes and bid leadership.

Join Pyramid as our Development Manager and drive positive change! We're looking for a dynamic individual to help us shape the future of inclusive arts by growing Pyramid’s revenue streams and public profile. This is a new opportunity to deliver real impact, working in a senior leadership role to secure new funding, build partnerships, and ensure financial stability. You’ll lead on developing grant applications, coordinating fundraising efforts, and managing our public-facing content and profile. 

This is a new role at Pyramid which supports business development by focusing on fundraising and increasing public awareness of our work. In this role, you will be responsible for generating, growing, and retaining revenues from new and existing channels (including public and private donations, fundraising events, private sector partnerships and public funding schemes).  Liaising with the Director, you will identify and develop funding bids, contracts, and tenders, as well as other sources of income, to enable Pyramid to thrive and grow. You will take responsibility for Pyramid’s public profile, including social media accounts, news articles on its website and press releases, assisted by the Marketing and Communications Officer, whom you will line-manage.

Purpose of the post

• To work alongside the Director and Board of Trustees to develop and implement a revenue generation strategy which grows and diversifies Pyramid’s income streams, supporter base and public profile.
• To support Pyramid’s current and future financial stability by identifying and accessing a wide range of funding streams, including (but not limited to) corporate sponsorship, grants, contracts, commissions, philanthropy, and donations.
• To seek out and initiate opportunities to expand our networks, identifying and engaging with potential new projects, supporters, and influencers.
• To monitor and review Pyramid’s activities in relation to income and impact, and to make recommendations for change and development where appropriate.
• To supervise and collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Officer in developing suitable content to build Pyramid’s public profile, and directly support fundraising efforts by ensuring our website, social media channels and print material are kept up to date with fundraising news and activities that inspire engagement and giving.
• To provide support and insight to stakeholders in setting the future strategic direction for the organisation
• To work with the Director to prepare project budgets and spending reports.

Main tasks:

Strategic

• Responsibility for overseeing and delivering on specific action plans / areas within plans related to business growth and development and monitoring / reporting on progress.
• To monitor and analyse sectoral developments and changes, identifying both opportunities and risks and taking appropriate action.

Financial

• To diversify Pyramid’s revenue streams, with a focus on building unrestricted income.
• To work with the Director to prepare budgets, cashflow forecasts and spending reports, and to present finance information to the Trustees, members, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
• To co-write funding applications and monitoring / evaluation reports with the Director.
• To ensure compliance with funder agreements and that contractual obligations are met.

Engagement

• To work collaboratively with Pyramid’s voluntary Fundraising Team, coordinating and supporting their activities as appropriate.
• To ensure a strong online presence and that high-quality print information is made available for fundraising and business initiatives.

Administrative

• To coordinate the fundraising workload of staff by developing, maintaining, and monitoring the fundraising pipeline and timelines for all sources of income.
• To maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records and documentation relating to funding streams, and income and expenditure.
• To monitor and report on public engagement with fundraising campaigns and strategies.

Operational

• To make arrangements for and at fundraising events, exhibitions, and functions.
• To line manage the Marketing and Communications Officer and be accountable for the day-to-day responsibilities of the Marketing and Communications Officer.
• To attend and contribute to the regular meetings of staff, trustees, and sub-committees as needed.

General

• To carry out any other duties as required, which are appropriate to the nature of the post and its level of responsibility.
• To carry out all duties of the post in accordance with Pyramid Policies and Procedures.

About the role: 

Reports to - Chair of Trustees 
Salary - £90,000 - £100,000 per year (pro-rata if part-time)
Contract - Permanent, 0.8FTE to 1.0FTE 
Location - London-based with some hybrid work possible. Travel within the UK as required by the role. 

Main purpose of the job:

The CEO is responsible for the growth, development and performance of the charity and for shaping and delivering an impactful and sustainable strategy in line with our mission and aims. They will be a key representative of Action Tutoring externally, including working to raise the profile of tutoring as an essential part of school education.

• Working with the Board to agree the vision and mission
• Ongoing strategic development and delivery of the short term and long term strategic plans and vision
• Responsible for implementing the agreed strategy Ensuring the necessary organisation, systems and infrastructure are in place to meet the plans
• Working with the team to ensure delivery targets are met and that delivery is impactful and to a high standard

People and cultural leadership

• Overall people and cultural leadership, developing the team ensuring a positive working culture with behaviours that align closely to the charity’s values
• Ensuring operational excellence across the organisation Workforce planning so that we have the right people in the right roles to ensure successful delivery of the strategy
• Commitment to improving diversity, equity and inclusion across the organisation, drawing on best practice and leading on identifying areas for improvement

Finance and Fundraising

• Overseeing financial management of the charity
• Lead fund raising alongside Head of Philanthropy to ensure fundraising targets set by the Board are met
• Managing income and costs to secure the long term sustainability and viability of the charity

Advocacy

• Representing Action Tutoring externally to a range of stakeholders, including school leaders, policy makers, the media and funders, to raise the profile of Action Tutoring and awareness of the cause
• Contributing to government policies, helping to establish tutoring as an essential part of school education

Line Management

• Direct line management of the Senior Leadership Team and the Head of Philanthropy

Governance

• Working collaboratively with the Board to ensure the vision and mission are met and that the board is sufficiently informed to enable the Trustees to discharge their duties
• ​Ensuring robust and effective governance processes are in place and adhered to Responsible for Strategic Risk Management and reporting on this to the Board

Person specification:

• Proven track record as a CEO or Board-level senior leader, ideally in a non-profit organisation
• Experience in developing and executing strategic plans to achieve organisational vision and mission
• Strong communication and advocacy skills, with extensive experience representing organisations externally to various stakeholders (e.g. school leaders, partners policymakers, funders), and contributing to sector-wide policy discussions
• Understanding of the education sector, and the needs and drivers of stakeholders across the education space
• Commercial mindset, with proven success in fundraising to meet set targets and secure income for ongoing operations
• Experience in growing and evolving organisations to meet ambitious targets and in response to external changes, challenges and opportunities in your operating context
• Experience in an organisation with strong operational service delivery and an understanding of how to ensure quality, efficiency and impact in that context
• Ability to foster a positive working culture, aligned with Action Tutoring’s values
• Strong financial management skills, managing budgets, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability
• Knowledge of governance structures and experience in working closely with a board of trustees, including managing strategic risk
• Comfortable with data and committed to driving impact across the organisation

The Fundraising Operations Manager reports into the Head of Fundraising, their remit is to focus on the management of supporter/ donor data and care, including financial reconciliation. This position involves leading and motivating a team to ensure that fundraising administration is efficient and effective, maintaining accurate and compliant supporter data, and ensuring that all fundraising income and expenditure are appropriately recorded and reported.

The purpose of this role is not only to oversee the day-to-day operations but also to look to implement new ways of working in line with our organisational strategy to be sustainable and grow our income. Digitalisation will play a huge part in these changes.

The Fundraising Operations Manager provides the foundation for strong relationships with supporters/donors.
