Role Overview 

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Events, the Senior Events Manager will have a significant role in the Events Team, overseeing the Parks and Corporate team and responsible for managing and delivering a wide range of outdoor events and activities within our parks and open spaces. We have a varied programme of events, often working with stakeholders, and this role involves the full event life cycle, from enquiries, site visits, assessing paperwork through to delivering a successful and safe event.

In the Events Team we celebrate creative problem solving, autonomy and integrity in our approach to work. 

We are looking for someone who has worked in a comparable role, with previous experience managing outdoor public events, and managing all the associated health and safety paperwork.  The role requires balancing our commercial remit to achieve revenue targets, with maintaining the integrity of our beautiful parks and the needs of our local residents and stakeholders. A successful candidate will be able to manage both very experienced commercial clients’ requirements and provide the extra support less experienced community organisers need.  

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

Venue Management

• Be listed as DPS on certain venues 
• Ensuring smooth venue booking process is in place for the team
• Providing clients with venue availability, quotes, and leading site visits
• Briefing clients on T&Cs for hire and licenses and supporting clients making event applications
• Ensuring all event application paperwork per event is complete and compliant with the requirements of the Event Policy
• Overseeing health & safety procedures; liaising with security personnel and conduct thorough site inspections before, during, and after events
• Working with internal & external contractors to secure the necessary services for each event 
• Collaborating on developing new event opportunities to maximize revenue for the parks and open spaces
• Communicating effectively with internal and external colleagues to ensure all park events and activities are well-coordinated
• Maintaining clear communication with clients to address their needs and work with the site team to fulfill their requests
• Supporting, delivering and attending events / productions as required

Admin and Finance

• Line managing event coordinators and assistants
• Raising invoices and purchase orders for clients, tracking corporate bookings income and expenses, ensuring smooth cash flow, and keeping budget up to date
• Monthly reconciliation of budget to ensure targets are met
• Ensuring all supplier’s paperwork is checked and uploaded to the system
• Raising contracts and agreements, ensuring all aspects of the event are clearly outlined and protected
• Updating the booking system with all confirmed event details, ensuring all details are documented and ensuring efficient scheduling and avoiding conflicts
• Preparing and submitting TEN applications to relevant authorities for events requiring permits in public spaces or with specific restrictions
• Supporting the Head of Events with various larger more complex projects

Event Production

• Supporting the Head of Events and Production Teams with the delivery of events produced by Enable
• Assisting with the physical set up and dismantling of events, including the management of contractors and suppliers and the distribution and return of events equipment / stores and vehicles as required

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years' experience planning and managing events, ensuring a positive client experience
• Minimum of 2 years' experience planning and managing outdoor events, and working with local authorities 
• Management of multiple clients simultaneously, providing confident and patient guidance to clients
• Proficient in a range of office software: Outlook, Excel, Teams
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, staff and senior management
• Thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple tasks and projects efficiently against deadlines
• Proactive approach and pride yourself on going the extra mile to create 5 star customer service
• Ability to work autonomously while readily collaborating with the wider events team
• This role will require schedule flexibility – including late nights, early mornings and weekend work to deliver events
• Personal Licence holder (this can be obtained on joining but required for Premises Licence and TEN applications)

About the role:
Bankside Open Spaces Trust is looking to recruit a dynamic and organised Centre Manager with a passion for community and young people to lead and manage our operations, drive engagement, and foster a sense of belonging within the community. This is an exciting and varied role working with an award winning environmental and community charity in Central London.

Role Overview: 

This role is based at our Living Space Community Centre in Waterloo, SE1, which is a vibrant and inclusive centre dedicated to promoting free to access youth activities, it has 2 halls for hire and 5 small non-profit business offices upstairs. The Community Centre Manager will proactively take the lead working with staff, stakeholders, partners, hirers and the local community raising awareness of BOST’s work, animating the centre, ensuring its sustainability.
You will be responsible for various aspects of facilities management, health and safety, planning and delivering projects within the centre, managing a small team, financial management and planning.

Excellent communication skills are required in both written and verbal communication with a friendly and welcoming manner. You will need to be flexible in your working approach, working both independently and as part of a team to deliver the aims of the charity. This will include working evenings and occasional weekends.

About Bankside Open Spaces Trust:

Bankside Open Spaces Trust is an environmental and volunteering charity. We were launched in 2000 by a group of local people with an aim to improve the SE1 area, making it a greener, more beautiful place to live and work.

We manage and maintain open spaces, welcome volunteers from both the community and the corporate sector, run regular gardening groups, support park steering groups, organise and take part in public events and educational projects, and offer advice to others. About the Role:

This role is a hybrid working role and is based at our Singer Street offices, Islington, London for a minimum of one day a week and home working, subject to operational demand. As a Domestic Abuse Service Manager you will be:

• Effectively managing and developing a high quality, innovative and pro-active domestic abuse service for victims and their children, including those at highest risk.
• Managing a team of IDVAs providing regular supervision, case review and support.

Bushmead Community Hub is a charity run Community Centre in the heart of Bushmead, Luton in the Barnfield Ward.  The charity was established in 2016 following the threat of closure under the local council.

Our community centre serves as a hub for various health, social, educational, cultural, and recreational activities that cater to individuals of all ages. Role description

Title: Interim General Manager

Contract: 24 hours per week (3 days). 6 month temporary contract (extended leave cover)

Location: Remote and at the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre 

Salary: £50,470.00 full-time pa; pro rata

Our General Manager is going on an extended leave, so we are looking for someone who can lead the team, continue our fundraising efforts and generally hold the fort for six months. 

Some of the key milestones of the period the new General Manager will be responsible for include: supporting the team in hosting a fundraising event, meeting key grant writing deadlines, supporting Finance Lead in producing the end of year accounts and all on-going financial reporting, renewing corporate sponsorship agreements with current partners.

We are interested in hearing from individuals who could cover all areas of the role including fundraising (3 days / week); as well as those who could take on the General Manager role but might not have fundraising experience (2 days / week) and fundraisers (specifically with experience in writing grants) who might prefer a part time assignment such as this (1 day / week).

About the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre

The London LGBTQ+ Community Centre is an award-winning charity launched by a team of volunteers in 2017. In December 2021 we opened our first physical space in London’s bankside.

Our mission is to provide London with a sober, intersectional, intergenerational, community centre and café where all LGBTQ+ people feel welcome and supported, can build connections, and flourish. Our vision is for a more connected, belonging and thriving LGBTQ+ community in London.

The Centre is visited by over 1,100 people each month. In 2023, we hosted 600 events joined by over 9,000 participants. And the Centre was visited by over 14,000 visitors.

Your main responsibilities:

• Seek and develop Social Enterprise projects in keeping with our values which are financially viable and meet the need of the communities involved.

• Build links and partnerships with Universities and similar organisations and deliver rummage sales, kilo sales, pop up shops and donation drives.

• Developing quality proposals through effective proposal management, working closely with Hope for Justice programmes, MEL and finance teams.

The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator, relationship-builder and problem-solver to take us to the next level in the way we interact with grant-making bodies. They will have expertise in written, numerical and analytical skills, as well as a strong track record in securing medium to large-size grants from trusts, foundations and institutional donors. They will have the ability to liaise confidently and diplomatically with donors and colleagues globally.

The role: overview 

Global Canopy is seeking an experienced and effective Data Systems Lead at a moment of very rapid growth and ongoing opportunity for the organisation as we implement our 2023-2030 strategy to end market impacts on nature.

This newly created role is an exciting opening for a motivated individual with strong technical expertise to build out and support the expansion of Global Canopy’s world-leading environmental data into systems that will support our key audiences, particularly in the finance sector, to eliminate deforestation.

You will have a proven track record of effective planning and execution in a relevant organisational setting, and will be able to flourish in a collaborative and dynamic non-profit, working with complex programmes and partnerships worldwide.

You will line manage at least one other data team member as well as coordinating third party data and product service providers and the budget for engaging them.

The role will focus on the projects in Global Canopy’s Corporate Performance programme but will liaise closely with analysts, researchers and other data and product focused roles across the organisation.
