Context
Through our flagship annual report and Gender and Health Index, GH5050 provides the only bird’s-eye view of gender, inclusion and equality in the global health sector today. The report assesses 200 organisations annually across a core set of variables on policies and practices to tackle power and privilege imbalances within the workplace, the gender and geography of organisational leadership, and whether gender is considered in any organisations' external-facing programmatic or policy work. Working with research and advocacy partners, supported by an advisory group, gender and health experts and a team of research consultants, GH5050 leverages the research data and evidence to engage with the assessed organisations directly.
Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the world’s leading research and accountability initiatives for gender equality. You will join a small and growing team of staff working at GH5050, taking responsibility for the Global Health workstream. The role will involve project design and management, conducting research and policy analysis, maintaining strong working relationships with partner organisations as well as with other GH5050 staff, dissemination, engagement and impact. These responsibilities will be exercised at global and in partnership at country levels. The post holder will take a leading responsibility for the management of research consultants contributing to the health workstream with the support of the Head of Research & Impact.
We are looking for a motivated, proactive, dynamic, collaborative and meticulously detail-oriented individual to join our team and encourage applications from people who meet the person specification and are interested in taking on the tasks and responsibilities of this key role in GH5050.
Role Responsibilities

Project design and management: Project manage the full process of producing the GH5050 Global Health reports, policy briefs, case studies of organisational change, and a range of outputs tailored to meet the goals of the GH5050 Strategy. Oversee and take ownership for the processes from research and analysis to drafting and production of GH5050 outputs.

Collaboration across GH5050 Ongoing collaboration with GH5050 colleagues including the research teams in other sectors, communications team.. Work closely with the finance officer on budgeting and financial reporting.

Team recruitment, leadership/management and research coordination: Hire, onboard and train teams of data collectors and provide regular support and quality control. Oversee and support the research team, develop detailed project plans, arrange regular project meetings, and ensure that project deliverables are met and produced in a rigorous and timely manner.

Consultant management and liaison: Identify and recruit consultants, and provide training and guidance as required, for specific tasks to produce GH5050 outputs. Supervise consultants’ work to ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs. Liaise with consultants on various tasks during the report production process.

Conduct research, data validation and analysis: Undertake research and data collection for reports and other outputs, including literature research on organisational policies and practices, policy content analysis and workforce data extraction.

Supervise research. Be responsible for the supervision of research consultants and data collection team; . Implement processes for ensuring research quality and validity is maintained. Ensure the timely delivery of quality, validated outputs, including on statistical analysis, writing, data validation, data visualisation, graphic design and layout, and the production of dissemination and communications materials.

Database management: Manage, validate and clean large and complex datasets.

Stakeholder management: Be a trusted first point of contact for organisations who are reviewed as part of the GH5050 report. This includes preparing and distributing formal communications to CEOs / Board Chairs and a designated focal point within each organisation, responding to queries, and managing the process of data validation with organisations. Support and engage the Health Advisory Council to optimise its value add. Ensure that the Head of Research and Impact, and other members of the leadership team as needed, is engaged at critical points in the research process, including the development of new indicators, the interpretation of the data and findings generation.

Report production: Prepare drafts of reports including in collaboration with professional writers when appropriate, to identify the key messages and key findings, data visualisations, background and other written contributions, such as forewords and quotes. Liaise with web designers, who will build data validation platforms and a new website to host the reports, and report design teams.

Partnership building and management: Be responsible for ensuring a productive and equitable relationship with research and partners, and advisory/expert groups. Prepare reports for Trustees and funders.

High-impact communication and dissemination: Work closely with the GH5050 communications lead as well as an external communications partner(s) to develop strategic communication and dissemination strategies for these research outputs. This includes preparing compelling key findings and messages from report research and developing a range of additional communications outputs for key stakeholders including launch events, presentations, policy briefs, op-eds and papers for peer-reviewed publications and ensuring the delivery of public events and launches.

Internal communications: Take responsibility for maintaining regular and comprehensive internal communications within the charity, reporting on progress and flagging any risks or challenges to project timelines.

While peer-reviewed publications are not a primary aim of GH5050, we encourage our researchers to publish in the academic literature and when they do so to practise equitable partnership practices in relation to authorship.
Person specification

PhD level qualification preferred. If Masters level qualification then equivalent and demonstrable relevant professional level experience

Experience conducting mixed methods research, including innovative methods of data collection, indicator development, database management, and qualitative and quantitative analysis and interpretation

Experience in research project management, ideally within an academic or policy environment

Experience in policy analysis and developing recommendations based on this analysis

Knowledge of the global health landscape, and ideally a good understanding of the key issues relating to gender and equality of opportunity in the workplace, global development and organisational change

An emerging thought leader in the field of global health

A network in the health sector which extends beyond academic actors to practitioners and thought leaders

Experience in statistical programming (e.g. use of R) would be an advantage.

Knowledge of gender and its relationship to: (i) the health sector; (ii) and/or the research/evidence methods in (e.g. policy analysis); (iii) and/or approaches to organisational change, would be an advantage.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and experience producing clear, concise, engaging and evidence-led written outputs such as reports, policy briefs, academic papers and op-eds

About the role:
The Advance Prison Advocate will support women on remand and those unsentenced within the prison setting, providing pre-release support; focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion.
The Prison Advocate will develop a referral pathway with the Offender Management team within the prison, for women to access the service and will work in partnership with the existing service providers operating within the prison. You will co-design a person-centred support and action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified above including providing ‘through the gate support’. The role will combine a casework- based approach, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.
You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.
You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists
A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential
About You:
To be successful as the Advance Prison Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:
Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).
The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.
You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.
Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines
You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

FTWW: Fair Treatment for the Women of Wales is the only patient-led charity and disabled people’s organisation in Wales dedicated to achieving health equality for women, girls, and people registered female at birth.
Our Vision is for a Wales where everybody’s right to good health and wellbeing is respected and fulfilled, with everyone able to access the healthcare they need, when they need it, and without barriers.
The role of Charity Coordinator is a new one for FTWW. Our successful candidate will be happy to join a small, dedicated team, supporting existing staff, volunteers, and trustees in the administration of the charity. You will be key to developing policies and processes that will ensure the organisation is managed effectively and efficiently into the future.

About the team
Our Strategy Enablement directorate brings together four core enabling support functions - HR Delivery, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning & Property and Finance where this particular role sits. About the role
As the Head of Financial Control and Operations (FC&O), you’ll be managing a highly engaged team of fourteen with three direct reports who are supported to drive their own development. This role has a critical remit within our wider Finance team, managing our Supporter Income, Accounts Payable Team and Financial Control team. We’ll count on you when it comes to maintaining robust financial controls, including compliance with laws, reporting standards and regulations. You’ll support your managers and their teams in ensuring we steward our resources carefully.
You’ll be working closely with our Assistant Director for Finance, assuring Shelter’s leadership that we have a financial control capability that meets the needs of our organisation. You’ll form part of our Finance Leadership Team, working with your peers and the Assistant Director in leading the finance function, ensuring we deliver the Finance plan within budget and provide our people with a work culture in which they can succeed and thrive.

You will be an experienced finance professional and chartered accountant, with experience of year-end processes, including accounts production and external audits, and have a good understanding of charity finance including the laws, regulations and taxation that come with this. You’ll have great people management skills and experience, not only in leading your team to success but also with knowing how to influence and challenge peers at all levels to ensure that we work collaboratively and manage Shelter’s financial resources effectively. We are seeking a hands-on, seasoned, and globally-minded leader to serve as the foundation’s Director of Operations (DO) as the institution continues to evolve and develop other vehicles fit for its mission and activities.
Role
As Director of Operations, you will be a key member of the foundation’s leadership team jointly responsible for strategic planning and overall management of the institution to ensure organisational health and the fulfilment of the foundation’s mission. This is a full-time, permanent position. Hybrid working is currently in place which means typically 2 days a week is in the office with the rest working remotely from home.

We are recruiting for a private international charitable foundation which seeks to support environmental recovery, supported by cultures and economies grounded in Earth lore, in line with their “breathe freely” ethos. The foundation is currently based in a Hong Kong family office, with personnel in Hong Kong and the UK, as well as Cameroon, Brazil, Australia, Papua, and the US. Role
This is a new position. Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, you will be involved in all the duties required to maintain a complete general ledger and financial records and support financial planning/forecasting.
International Accountant Responsibilities
— The responsibilities of the International Accountant will include, but are not limited to:
International Accounting Operations
- Develop a General Ledger Chart of Accounts which supports our current grantmaking operations with the flexibility to accommodate various directions in our growth, allows easy consolidation with sister entities, and is IFRS compliant to allow us to provide regulatory and audit reporting in various jurisdictions.
- Implement optimal Chart of Accounts and processes, evaluating current and alternate accounting systems as needed and developing interface processes to existing systems as needed (HRIS, Payroll, Grants Management System, expense reporting) as needed.
- Perform duties necessary for the timely and accurate verification and recording of financial and investment (MRI/PRI) operations including general ledger, entries and reconciliations, investment portfolio tracking and transactions, international payroll, benefits and taxes.
- Work closely with Human Relations Specialist on payroll and benefits administration processes.
- Collaborate with senior management team, Operations Manager and others to determine an optimal process for reviewing and approving expenses.
- Audit corporate credit card(s).
- Identify institution and global consolidated reporting needs with senior management team and agree schedule and distribution for regular financial reporting.
Budgeting and Financial Planning
- Assist in preparation of the annual organisational and department budgets.
- Monitor and provide quarterly budget performance reports and analysis to organisation and departments with close cooperation to develop and implement measures to minimize variance.
- Assist staff to self-manage budgets.
- Support financial planning and forecasting including developing scenarios for growth.
Cash Flow Management
- Reconcile annual and quarterly projected expenses and cash flow requirements and coordinate with family office for redemption decisions.
- With Operations Manager and Human Relations Specialist, maintain and improve policies and organization discipline for accurate and timely processing of accounts payables, employee expense reports, travel guidelines, time reporting, etc.
Regulatory and Audit Compliance (initially in support of regulatory reporting through the family office)
- Strengthen financial systems integrity and controls according to IFRS, tax and regulatory measures and foundation policies.
- Build systems for timely and accurate provision of data and provide direct support for annual audit and tax filing.
- Work with external advisors, as needed, to ensure compliance with relevant country and international regulatory requirements in areas of taxes, documentation requirements, payroll and benefits.
General and Other
- Develop and manage relationships with accounting related service providers as needed including in-country and global accountants, auditors, payroll and tax experts.
- Develop and maintain an asset inventory/schedule.
- Support for MRI/PRI activities as needed.
- Continually improve internal financial processes.
- Potential management of banking relationships, international wire transfers and/or other payment systems.
- Occasional travel as required for the execution of duties.
- Other duties are consistent with the accountant’s role and experience as the foundation continues to evolve, or from time to time as prompted by institutional priorities.
Qualifications
— The successful International Accountant candidate will likely reflect much of the following profile:
Essential
- Several years of progressively responsible professional experience in international accounting, ideally in an international organisation and / or in auditing / tax consulting.
- Accounting experience in philanthropy or non-profit.
- Experience in multiple tax jurisdictions and working in multi-currency environments.
- In-depth IFRS knowledge.
- Excellent, hands-on knowledge of web-based systems including accounting (current platform is Xero), and office suite platforms (proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
- Comfortable in complex and highly matrixed environments. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with peers across disciplines and functions in shared efforts with proven ability to influence without direct formal authority.
- Comfortable working remotely.
