The Charity

The Role
Work collaboratively across the organisation to identify new funding opportunities, projects and proposals and develop these into successful bids.
Develop and manage a clear funding pipeline of trusts and foundations across a range of sizes and areas of interest.
Build on relationships with existing donors, maximising opportunities to access further funding.
The Candidate
A minimum of three years experience in grants fundraising or transferrable experience.
Experience of securing funds by crafting persuasive written applications and nurturing relationships with key individuals and organisations.
Experience of drafting project budgets and reports to funders.

About My Life Films
My Life Films is an award-winning charity that uses film and TV to enrich and support the lives of people affected by dementia. This includes My Life TV, our specialist on-demand streaming service, with bespoke curated content designed to improve wellbeing. We are also known for our award-winning life story film service.
My Life TV is carefully put together with a wide range of content to enable people living with dementia to feel stimulated and connected to the world, improving their mental health and supporting their essential care. We work with highly respected content partners as well as produce our own programming in partnership with trusted organisations in the dementia care field and more widely.
About the Role
This is a hugely exciting opportunity for an experienced and confident interim CEO to come into the organisation and lead it during this important transition period, which is where we are shifting our model from in-house sales and marketing to a partner-led approach. We believe this will be the best way to reach and deliver benefits to people affected by dementia. This role will secure this partnership and develop a new strategy for My Life Film's next chapter.
Our current Executive Director is moving on for family reasons, having stewarded the charity and led the development and expansion of My Life TV over the past two years. She will remain available part-time with My Life Films for a short handover period.
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Interim ED will be responsible for all aspects of the charity's work and will be passionate about our work supporting people with dementia, entrepreneurial and collaborative, with commercial Business Development, Partnerships, and experience of charity mergers would be beneficial (but is not essential) as we have an experienced Board who will be on hand to support you.
As leader of the My Life Films team, you will also work across governance, finance, income generation, and impact. You will be responsible for delivering My Life Films' immediate strategy and working with the Board of Trustees.
About You
- Progress strategic partnership discussions for My Life TV with existing partners and identified potential partners to move to a wholesale or reseller model for My Life TV, or potentially acquisition of the service by another charity, company or care organisation
- Develop financial and operational models for potential partnerships, including scenario planning and P&L analysis, involving content, tech, marketing, and charitable impact. Lead negotiations, bringing in commercial, accounting, or legal support as needed.
- Work with the Board to create a strategic plan for My Life TV and new dementia-focused services, aligning with the charity's mission.
- Oversee daily operations, including finance, income generation, content production, partnerships, and reporting.
- Secure necessary funding through trusts, foundations, care groups, and events, representing My Life Films to stakeholders.
- Cultivate a positive environment, recruit and restructure as needed and provide coaching to enhance team performance.

Having recently won a major national award for Fundraising Team of the Year at the annual Third Sector awards, East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) is now seeking an outstanding income generation leader to help realise it’s ambitions of reaching more children, young people and families across the East Anglian region that need our care.
We’re looking for an experienced Director of Fundraising and Marketing & Communications to join the executive leadership team at EACH. This role offers flexibility to work from any of our three hospices at Milton near Cambridge, The Treehouse in Ipswich and The Nook, near Norwich, combined with hybrid working.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) provides specialist care for babies, children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk and supports their families. All three of our hospices are rated as Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
As Director of Fundraising and Marketing & Communications you will lead the strategic planning and delivery of the Marketing and Fundraising annual plan (£7.5m) across all income streams, including major giving, community and events, corporate, trust and foundation teams. This is a critical leadership position, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at EACH.
You’ll be leading a talented team of 30, encouraging, empowering and inspiring colleagues to innovate in ways which help us deliver our overall objectives. You’ll underpin this income generation experience with detailed forecasting and activity planning.

Highly knowledgeable and experienced in delivering primary income streams with experience of develop income strategies to deliver year on year growth

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chief Operating Officer to join a fantastic conservation and education charity, based in Hemel Hempstead.
Location: Predominately office-based in Hemel Hempstead, with occasional home-working

As Chief Operating Officer, you will manage and develop the diverse business operations of the Trust.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the delivery of the ten-year plan, most significantly, a multi-year project to re-establish a new visitor centre.
- Managing a team of staff, volunteers and contractors, ensuring HR compliance, CPD and operational resilience.
- Building relationships with related charities, industry partners, trade associations, the Local Authority and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring the websites and other digital offerings provide the most effective and modern service for users.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the charity’s financial position through increased income generation.
- In close liaison with the Treasurer and Chair of Trustees, work to ensure the best possible operating position for the Trust with regard to income, costs and investment, including budgeting and forecasting.
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ senior experience managing industrial and/or commercial operations, ideally within a related industry or a third-sector environment such as a charity or not-for-profit. Expertise in recognising and implementing business improvements and changes is key, as is the ability to lead a commercially focused, marketing-oriented function.
You must be confident, resilient and energetic, with proven ability to lead and engage staff and volunteers, helping them achieve their objectives. Demonstrable strength in strategic planning and driving business growth is crucial, alongside a solid understanding of key UK business practices including compliance, risk management, HR, finance, and IT.

Through the nature of her work, Amy was always aware of loneliness, and she wanted to do something to change the stigma around it and help to build a more connected society. Since launching, they have directly helped thousands of people and have reached millions more.

We are looking for a professional and passionate fundraiser to play a leading role in building relationships with new trusts and foundations, individual and family philanthropists, and corporate partners. As well as a proven record in fundraising, the successful candidate must have a commitment to supporting young refugees and asylum seekers. The candidate will be self motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
