ActionAid UK is looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to helm our Legacy & In Memory Fundraising programme. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to lead innovative campaigns that will strengthen ActionAid UK’s mission to support women and girls living in poverty.
In this role, you will drive the development and execution of a forward-thinking strategy that ensures the growth of our legacy income for years to come. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, explore new channels, and design creative campaigns that resonate deeply with our supporters. Your work will be aligned with ActionAid’s commitment to feminist principles and anti-racism, shaping a fundraising programme that champions equity and inclusivity.
There are exciting times ahead as we finalise our Legacy and In Memory strategy through 2025 and craft a new roadmap for the future. Collaborating with Smee and Ford, we are diving deep into strategic planning sessions fuelled by crucial data insights, with a strong emphasis on enhancing our digital marketing strategy.
In parallel, we are fully engaged in advancing our CRM development project and fostering cross-federation collaborations. Additionally, we are in the process of creating a new legacy propensity model to drive impactful decision-making. Utilising valuable insights, we are shaping a compelling business case for introducing a new in-memory fundraising product, such as a tribute fund platform.
Moreover, in close partnership with our Legacy Case Administration Specialist, we are designing an extensive Scheme of Delegation for legacy case administration at AAUK.
As a key member of the Public Fundraising team, you’ll lead and inspire your team, ensuring they are equipped to deliver exceptional results. Your role will involve managing budgets, monitoring trends, and overseeing the execution of impactful stewardship campaigns. With collaboration at the heart of ActionAid, you’ll work closely with teams across the organisation to ensure a unified approach to supporter engagement and operational success.

About the role:
As an IDVA you will be working as a member of the London Domestic Abuse team supporting clients through the co-location at the hospital liaising directly with departments such as ED/ Safe Guarding/ Maternity as well as supporting through the criminal justice system. You will work in partnership with other agencies aiming to increase the level of domestic abuse prosecutions.
As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
Implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm.
Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.

North Paddington Foodbank (NPFB) is the UK’s first and only full cash-first foodbank, pioneering a transformative approach by providing customers with emergency cash grants alongside advice and support services. We’re looking for a dedicated and passionate Welfare Benefits Advisor to help deliver life-changing financial support to individuals in Westminster who may be missing out on benefits or are struggling with debt.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and driven Welfare Benefits Advisor to join our team and make a significant impact on the lives of those in need. This position is vital in ensuring that underserved communities in Westminster access the financial support they deserve. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment and embodies a positive, solution-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Casework Support: Provide comprehensive casework support to NPFB service users, assisting with welfare benefit claims (PIP, ESA, Universal Credit) and addressing independent reviews.
- Debt Support: Offer basic debt advice, focusing on priority debts, applying for Local Housing Allowance, and facilitating referrals to specialists for complex cases.
- Financial Capability: Help clients create realistic budgets and develop essential financial skills to foster independence.
- Income Maximization: Deliver tailored advice to maximize household income through benefit checks, applications, and challenges to ensure clients receive their rightful support.
- Outreach Coordination: Manage outreach clinics and community events, collaborating with partners to enhance service delivery.
- Client Engagement: Provide advice across various settings, including the NPFB office, community outreach, and digital platforms.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate case records and ensure timely completion of funding reports and evaluations.
- Training: Stay updated on welfare legislation and provide training sessions for staff and volunteers on welfare rights issues.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in delivering social welfare advice.
- Ability to empower clients facing welfare benefits and debt challenges through empathetic support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage challenging situations effectively.
- Proficient in managing a caseload and meeting deadlines to ensure timely client support.
