About the role:

This hybrid role is based in Brighton & Hove. There is a mandatory office attendance requirement with a minimum of 1 day a week.

The role will involve:

• Making initial contact assessing and providing information to victims/survivors of domestic abuse
• Providing any immediate safety and support needs for the victims/and their children(s) including safeguarding when required.
• Providing administrative support to our wider team to support them in the delivery of advocacy to victims/survivors of mainly domestic abuse.
• Liaising with the police and other agencies to ensure all relevant information is collected including safe contact numbers and consent from victims/survivors.
• Gathering feedback from service users and collating this into monthly reports and contributing to monitoring information for the service.
• Participating in regular supervisions and reviews.

You will need to:

• Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• Understand the myths, facts and misconceptions about domestic abuse.
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• Understand the needs of victims/survivors of domestic abuse.
• Understand the effects of trauma and the importance of trauma informed practice.
• Have a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System.
• Have strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals.
• Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance.

About the role:

This role offers hybrid working with a minimum 1 day per week in our Victim Support Office based at Whitecross Studios, homeworking and regular travel to meet clients and attend meetings. As an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate of domestic abuse you will:

• implement effective ways of working with victims and those supporting them to increase safety and reduce harm
• provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse, delivering a premium service prioritised according to risk, primarily focusing on victim/survivors aged 16+
• initiate, develop, maintain and monitor multi-agency links through procedures and protocols to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse

You will need:

• knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
• a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
• to understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
• knowledge of safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
• experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.

Women in Prison is a national, women-led, feminist organisation. We deliver front line support to women harmed by the criminal justice system, through our work in prisons, in the community and ‘through the prison gate’ as they resettle back into their communities. Job Description:

Job Purpose: Women in Prison’s Advocates deliver high-quality, trauma-informed, independent advocacy for women in communities and in prisons, which focuses on early intervention, and holistic provision as part of a ‘whole system’ multi-agency response that looks to address the root causes of women’s offending.

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Care: provide high-quality, trauma-responsive advocacy and emotional and practical support to women in contact with, or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system

• Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse

About the role:

This hybrid role is based in Brighton & Hove. Applicants will need to be able to meet with staff where required, and to attend the Brighton office for team meetings, training sessions and other requirements as they arise. There is a mandatory office attendance requirement with a minimum of 1 day a week. You will work closely and collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders as well as other statutory agencies and third sector organisations within Brighton and Hove.

You will have strong customer service ethics, be competent in the use of IT skills and know how to use a range of software packages on a PC. About the role:

This role is based at our West Bromwich office with the option of hybrid working from home. Travel across the area is required, travelling time is within working hours & expenses are reimbursed. The hours for this role are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 8am to 4pm & Tuesday 12pm to 8pm.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Effectively managing a caseload, delivering excellent services via telephone, video call and in person to support service users

We are looking for an empathic, organised and intuitive wellbeing professional to join our student support team in the Department of Design Engineering. 

As one of two part-time student wellbeing advisers in the department, your primary work will be to provide direct one-to-one support for our postgraduate and undergraduate students. This might include conversations about mental health, relationships, sexuality, finance, studies, family issues, neurodiversity, disability, accommodation, bereavement, trauma and other topics. 

The role also involves liaising with academic colleagues, signposting students to internal & external provisions, and running occasional group wellbeing initiatives. You will be a part of developing the wellbeing provision and supporting in upskilling academic staff around wellbeing and mental health issues.

The role is part time 0.4 FTE (2 days per week) and is a fixed term contract for 2 years. The role requires 60% (or more) in-person work at our South Kensington campus, with the option to work the remainder from home. There are certain weeks of the year such as welcome week, exam weeks, and coursework deadline periods where in-person working on both days is required.

Duties and responsibilities

You will provide:

Wellbeing advice – you will listen, support and advise students on wellbeing issues they present with. The aim is to provide a safe, confidential, collaborative space for students to discuss whatever is on their mind. This might be a single conversation, short term support or more regular, ongoing check-ins depending on the situation. At times you will signpost students to internal/external services and liaise with appropriate staff as needed.

You will also:

· Run group wellbeing initiatives for students

· Liaise with colleagues regarding students who need extra academic support due to wellbeing issues

· Support necessary students to access Imperial’s Disability Advice Service, and ensure their required adjustments are communicated to the education team

· Contribute to the department’s EDI committee

· Complete record-keeping and administrative duties related to the role

· Use your own insight and initiative to develop the wellbeing provision

Essential requirements

· You will have experience working with students in a further or higher education setting, or working with young adults in another relevant setting (such as a charity, healthcare, mental health, or a counselling/therapeutic setting).

· You will hold a relevant qualification.

About this key role

As our Financial Wellbeing Coach, you will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or have been released from prison.  This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma-informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users.

We will also count on you to deliver a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards the achievement of prescribed outcomes, and to work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of locations across a wide geographical area.  Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies and working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards are also vital aspects of the role.

The contract requires clearance through HMPPS vetting.

What we are looking for

• Experience of engaging successfully with challenging people, e.g. those with complex and multiple needs.

• Proven record of working with partner agencies.

• Evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice.

• Higher level certificate in money and/or welfare benefit advice from accreditation.

• The ability to assess clients’ needs and provide tailored, client-led support.

• Able to work sensitively with clients applying trauma informed strategies.

• A full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

Role Requirements

• Support planning and changes in the administration of children and young people’s timetable for children and family services.
• Support with photocopying of notes for subject access/ solicitor requests (SARS).
• Manage the SARS and redacting process with appropriate members of the Therapies teams.
• Update logs and coordinate the Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision across the Therapies teams, escalating non-compliance where required.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and administer booking processes for all relevant training sessions/course.
• Coordinating specialist clinics, including spine and hip clinics; liaising with the Physiotherapy team to ensure the correct children are on the schedule. Liaison with external Consultants to organise the clinic lists.
• Carry out audiotyping of clinic letters and distribute as required.
• Update absences within the teams onto the SMI (staff care) system, as requested by the Heads of Service.
• Place orders for any required equipment and/or resources for departments and for the children and young people as deemed necessary.
• Take overview of clinical asset ordering, linking with the clinical assets team and management system, in line with MHRA guidelines and the medical devices policy.
• Track and monitor equipment orders with Heads of service, escalate delays and provide a central overview for all equipment re-charges and ordering.
• Raise and receipt PO’s and invoices for the therapies directorate and liaise closely with the finance team.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advisor (IDSVA) to be based at Carlisle Infirmary.

This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse predominately risk assessed as high risk service across Cumberland. This is a key role at the hospital working alongside the safeguarding team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.

As an IDSVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to hospital staff and local partner agencies

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic and/or sexual abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.

You will be joining a passionate and committed team who provide high quality and bespoke support to service users. We pride ourselves on exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support to all service users.

The role of Homicide Caseworker is varied, demanding and rewarding; no two days are the same and you will thrive on this challenge. You will need to be extremely organised and able work independently and as well as being a pro-active, supportive member of a team open to developing your personal resilience.

You will work closely with the Major Crime Police Units, Senior Investigators and Family Liaison Officers, you will provide a pivotal role to support clients through the Criminal Justice System. You will provide support to families by phone and Zoom when their usual Homicide Caseworker is unavailable. You will complete needs assessments, and will coordinate and deliver a tailored package of support alongside our commissioned providers and other key stakeholders.

You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users. You will have resilience and adaptability; understand the importance of professional boundaries; have excellent listening skills and the ability to demonstrate empathy. You will enjoy the challenge of a busy caseload and will be able to demonstrate the excellent organisation skills essential to managing a demanding and diverse workload.

As a fully trained Homicide Family Caseworker you will be responsible for managing your own complex caseload to the highest quality standards.

This role is part of our remote working team and so you will be home-based, however you will need to be able to travel to work meetings and to attend training as required.

You will need:

• Understanding of the impact of crime on victims.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
