Responsibilities of our Lifeline Manager:
- leadership and line management of the Lifeline Caseworkers, including managing performance and settling objectives via probationary review and annual
appraisals - responsible for recruiting and managing the project volunteers as well as promoting and developing the service
- oversee the referrals coming into the service and arrange the safe transportation and collection of cats
- build and develop partnerships with local domestic abuse services and relevant organisations
- be responsible for the promotion, development and monitoring of the service across London and the South East
About the Lifeline team:
- Lifeline is a pet fostering service for anyone fleeing domestic abuse
- the majority of our referrals come from women fleeing domestic abuse via women-only services.
- the service places cats into volunteer foster homes on a temporary basis until their owners can be reunited with them.
- the team consists of Lifeline Caseworkers and a Volunteer Team Leader as well as the wider Lifeline team
What we’re looking for in our Lifeline Manager:
- experience of supporting people experiencing domestic abuse working with or on behalf of
adults/families in a support role - experience of managing and leading volunteer and employee teams
- ability to deal with sensitive situations and cope under pressure in an appropriate manner
- strong organisational skills and able to prioritise and manage workload
- understanding of cat care and cat welfare issues
- confident with Microsoft Office programmes

As Senior Finance Officer, you will play a vital role at World Heart Beat, ensuring the effective day-to-day management of finances, financial administration, and bookkeeping, as well as informing future business planning. You will work with key personnel across the team, providing guidance and leadership in relation to budget management and financial information to support funding applications and stewardship. You will also provide excellent reporting to support the Executive and Board.
It is an exciting time for the charity, following the opening of World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens in 2023, our second site for music teaching, which includes a café, concert hall and recording studio. The operation of two sites has increased our activities and overheads, making the Senior Finance Officer role even more crucial. We have also established a CIC through which new earned income streams are channelled. The Senior Finance Officer will have the opportunity to develop and shape financial processes and contribute to forward planning.

The Finance Team at Alzheimer’s Research UK is responsible for maintaining the financial records of the Charity and providing timely and accurate financial information. The team is responsible for ensuring there is a strong financial control environment, and for providing support and advice on all finance matters to employees across the charity.
This role combines daily tasks, which require attention to detail to accurately record data and maintain records, along with a broader responsibility for employee expense claims which requires a proactive approach and initiative in resolving issues and helping others around the organisation.
This role requires excellent focus, time management and prioritisation as it involves daily, weekly, and monthly tasks which must be carried out methodically in accordance with documented procedures, and which may vary in complexity depending on queries and requests received. It requires organisation over workloads, providing the ability to help others in the team as needed.
Please note, this role will be known internally as Finance Executive*.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Answering the Finance Team telephone line.
· Managing the Finance Team shared inbox, dealing with basic queries, and passing other queries to the appropriate colleague.
· Assisting in the maintenance of corporate credit card records, including applications for new credit cards, removal of cards for leavers and changing credit limits.
· Maintenance and administration of Webexpenses including the creation of new employees, removal of leavers and changes to the costing structures, approval paths and limits. Providing employees with appropriate induction, training, and support to ensure they understand Webexpenses and the relevant expenses and credit card policies. Ensuring all expense and credit card claims are processed in accordance with the relevant policy guidelines in issue at the time.
· Processing and payment of employee expenses.
· Imports of corporate credit card statements to Webexpenses, and monthly reconciliation of credit card statements to WebExpenses claims.
· Purchase ledger support including chasing for purchase orders, matching purchase invoices to purchase orders, posting invoices to the finance system and assisting with payment runs.
· Recording, management, and reconciliation of cash received directly to the office.
· Scanning and posting of cheques received and sending to the bank.
· Occasional trip to the bank, to bank foreign currency and cash.
· Opening of Finance Team post, filing/distributing as appropriate.
· Payment of manual expense claims not processed via Webexpenses.
· Sending non-cheque vouchers to the relevant agencies.
· Year end audit assistance, collating documents such as invoices, cheques, or bank statements for auditors.
What we are looking for:
· GCSE in Maths at a grade C, 4 – 9 or above (or equivalent)
· Data entry and/or administrative office experience
· Confidence working with computers; knowledge of Excel functions
· Excellent attention to detail

The organisation’s mission is to get 3-6 year old children in rural Africa to thrive. It is currently reaching over 300,000 children per year, and we aim to reach 1 million children per year by 2028. With around 100 staff globally, the interim Finance Director will manage a diverse team of finance professionals. Your role will include setting and managing budgets, supporting fundraising strategy and proposals, overseeing spend and financial controls and processes. You will lead the finance team in Ghana made up of a Junior Finance Manager, four Finance Officers, two bookkeepers and a Procurement and Logistics Officer. You will also manage the Uganda Finance Officer, and Global Finance Manager based in the UK.
The role will involve a mixture of hands-on accounting, complex donor reporting, consolidated and year-end accounts, budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and financial modelling. Xero is used across the organisation, and financial year-end is December.
Duties include:
· Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation’s scale and income-generation strategy, including exciting new opportunities for potential expansion to the southern regions in Ghana and exploring implementation of the programme in a new country.
· Develop and strengthen robust and flexible cost models (including sensitivity analyses/stress testing) to guide decisions around the pace and rate of scale, staffing & resource requirements, ensure value for money and maximise cost efficiencies.
· Develop robust budgets for new and renewal funder applications, considering complexities around funder restrictions, currency exchange and forecast economic conditions.
· Ensure that the organisation-wide financial systems, policies, procedures and internal controls and audits are robust, compliant and best practice to support current activities and future growth.
· Be pro-active in identifying ways to improve efficiencies and strengthen financial rigour, including leading on internal projects to enhance systems and processes to automate approvals and develop cost recovery models as we look to expand our operations outside Ghana and Uganda.
· Lead and coach the finance team to maintain and deliver operational excellence & financial rigour, closely monitoring the operating and financial reports against plans and budgets.
· Lead monthly financial reviews and oversee timely production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to the Board, donors and management team.
· Work with our internal operations and programmes team to develop financial systems so that direct financial support is provided to local government partners and they are able to take on responsibility for and account for programme budgets, including overseeing termly financial disbursements and reporting.
· Work with programmes team to build the capacity of local government partners in financial management, procurement, and budgeting so that they will eventually be able to fund and sustain the programme themselves. Create the budgets, financial information, documentation and materials for funding proposals.
· Oversee the creation of all financial reports for funders, ensuring mechanisms to track and report against restricted income are robust, and preparing financial analyses for funder
· Provide monthly and quarterly management accounts for trustees summarising current and forecast financial position for the year, cashflow analysis and KPI reporting.
· Attend trustee meetings, present information to the Board and liaise with Board members, including leading the quarterly Finance and Audit Committee meetings.
· Ensure that the Statutory Accounts for all entities are prepared, including internal information is collated and provided, external auditors are instructed and deliver to standard.
· Ensure all organisations are compliant with tax, regularity and legal requirements (e.g payroll, tax, NGO registration, insurance, registrations with regulatory authorities)
· Actively manage the performance and build the capacity of direct reports through training, coaching, holding 1to1s, setting performance goals, appraisals, developing new policies and practices.
Requirements:
-Fully-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA essential
-Prior experience working as Head of Finance or Finance Director in an international development charity (NGO)
-Prior experience managing a global team
-Deep understanding of international charity finance - donor reporting, programmes finance, foreign currency transactions

Person Specification:
- Qualified Accountant with substantial commercial business partnering
- Strong experience of working in international and multi-cultural organizations

- Pricing and costing model experience for new bids and contracts

Your new company
One of the largest social housing providers in the UK is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their team. You would act as a vital link between the Finance and Operational service charge teams, optimising income and ensuring compliance and legislation to provide residents with fair and transparent charging.
Your new role
Responsibilities would include;
- Financial management, specialising in service charge operations
- Communicate effectively across all levels, influencing financial and strategic decisions
- Play a crucial role in understanding and managing the financial aspects of service charges, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency.
- Act as a strategic advisor to service charge teams, offering dedicated business partnering support.
- Lead financial planning and reporting for service charges, adhering to legal and audit requirements and ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, particularly Operations, and relevant external partners to enhance service charge processes
- Develop and adapt reporting processes to meet the specific needs of service charge management, providing insightful financial analysis
What you'll need to succeed
- Full CCAB accounting qualification, with active membership and supporting CPD.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable experience of finance business partnering, and evidence of strong relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
- Good Excel skills.
- Willingness to learn about service charges and legislation.
