Your oversight of IT infrastructure will span servers, networks, cloud environments and data centers, ensuring reliable and secure operations while implementing best practices in security and data protection. You will also ensure that IT policies and procedures comply with industry standards, including GDPR, Charity Commission requirements, and data security guidelines.

To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with extensive experience in senior IT management, with a focus on infrastructure, security, and project management. You will possess sound knowledge of IT governance, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR) and have experience with cloud platforms, network infrastructure, and database management. Exceptional communication skills will be essential, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

The Role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key supporting role in the financial health of The Royal Parks.

Specifically, you will assist with financial reporting, control, and compliance activities, focusing on areas such as the annual statutory accounts, VAT reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations, as well as supporting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities.

Working alongside the Financial Accountant, you’ll support the completion of year-end accounts, contribute to audit processes, and help maintain efficient financial transaction procedures.

About the role

We are excited to be advertising this newly created role as part of WGN’s growth. This role will be the lead on the finance function. Reporting into the Director of Finance and Resources, the role works closely with stakeholders across the organisation including executive leadership, with a specific focus on working closely with the Director and external auditors. The role will have two direct reports – Finance Business Partner and Senior Finance Officer. This is a hands-on role and will have full responsibility for the finance function on a day to day and medium-term basis. The Financial Controller is to lead on all financial systems set up and upgrades.

An award-winning and fast growing organisation, which provides dedicated support to individuals in times of crisis and economic need, is recruiting an Interim Financial Controller to for a 6 month contract. Reporting into the Head of Finance, a summary of some of this role’s duties is as follows:

• Undertake all aspects of financial reporting requirements for the organisation’s entities.
• Prepare statutory accounts and contribute to leading the year-end reporting processes
• Support the Senior Leadership Team in the provision of relevant commentary and analysis on monthly management information
• Develop annual budgets for internal departments, supporting budget-holders on in-year budget updates to advise on performance vs. budget
• Responsibility for oversight of financial operations (transactions, payments etc.) undertaken by the Finance Officers

You will be:

Immediately availble or on a short notice period

A part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience accountant

You will have exposure to both financial and management reporting and have good to strong excel skills

Financial Accountant – Process & System Improvement
£51,000 - £59,000

Exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a world renowned international humanitarian charity during a time of growth and expansion. The successful individual will play a central role in helping the organisation be more effective and efficient. You will work towards these ambitions through developing and implementing changes to finance processes and systems. This will be achieved by leading on a portfolio of improvement projects. In addition, the role-holder will use their skills in Excel, accounting software and reporting to provide ad hoc support to the finance team by identifying and implementing iterative improvements to finance processes and systems where needed.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Design of an effective and sustainable process for a purchase to pay procedure, which includes the payments of expenses and credit cards (seeking significant improvements to current procedures).
• Developing a business case for possible new systems which may be required to deliver new procedures.
• Working with the fundraising team to improve the flow of data between the fundraising database and finance system, including ensuring the coding structure is fit for purpose.
• Commission a review of tax and residency compliance for payrolled staff by working with HR and extemal advisors.
• Assist with embedding knowledge of new processes with relevant non-finance teams / colleagues in relation to key taxation compliance areas, especially relating to fundraising and HR activities.
• Documentation of Finance procedures, as well as the communication, implementation and embedding of policies and processes within finance and the wider office.
• Provide support from the finance function to the fundraising team during the fundraising team's project to introduce a legacy administration database and associated processes.

Who are we looking for?

• A formally qualified Accountant 
• Exposure with designing and implementing process change and improvements.
• Familiarity with software implementation (preferably purchase to pay software).

• Part-qualified / qualified / QBE Accountant with strong Financial Accounting experience.

• Strong technical ability and excel skills.
