We are recruiting a General Advice Officer to support with the delivery of advice and welfare support to vulnerable guests who access the Community Wellbeing Service, a local support hub offering relief from the rising cost of living for local families. The General Advice Officer will support our guests on a range of areas including benefits, immigration, housing, money management and access to training and employment services. The postholder will provide high quality welfare advice and guidance through weekly one-to-one advice sessions, undertake case work, work with partners to facilitate referrals, and provide support to advice volunteers. 

The successful candidate must have at least two years’ experience delivering effective advice or in a similar capacity, demonstrate empathy, an understanding of the issues facing vulnerable people, and have in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of welfare benefits and housing policies/legislations, with a strong focus on achieving tangible outcomes for our guests.

Advice Work

• Carry out assessments to identify urgent needs and appropriate support pathways for members at the Community Wellbeing Service.
• Support outreach or community engagement activities as needed.
• Provide holistic and person-centred advice and casework on the main enquiry areas, particularly welfare benefits, housing, employment, health and wellbeing, immigration and money management.
• Maintain Sufra’s Advice Quality Standards and meeting tangible outcomes.
• Produce detailed case records on our case management system for the purpose of continuity, statistical monitoring and report preparation
• Apply for funds from trusts and foundations to support individuals and families with essential costs such as housing deposits or white-goods and/or cancellation of debts;
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with external stakeholders for joined up working, including statutory and voluntary service providers, making referrals for guests where appropriate.
• Enable and support guests to act for themselves, wherever appropriate.

Mind in Camden has the exciting permanent opportunity to recruit people to work on our leading Hearing Voices Projects.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day work of our innovative Hearing Voices Projects. To be successful in this role, you need to have an in-depth understanding of the Hearing Voices Movement and the role of peer support groups within this. You will ideally have experience of supervising or mentoring volunteers and some project management experience.

Job Description

To provide advocacy support to a caseload of clients with complex mental health needs, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues. CARA’s advocacy service focuses primarily on meeting the needs of some of our most complex clients – victims and survivors who would be unable to access other advocacy services.  The role will also involve supporting the wider CARA team in signposting other clients to external advocacy agencies, as appropriate and attendance at CARA groups to provide a drop-in advocacy surgery.

Main Responsibilities

·To manage a caseload of complex clients seeking short and long-term advocacy support, including support around housing, finances, health, domestic abuse and other issues.

·To manage referrals in to CARA’s Advocacy service, ensuring clients meet the referral criteria.

·To provide line-management for CARA’s social care placement worker and potential future advocacy volunteers.

·To assess all new referrals to CARA’s advocacy services, allocating cases to members of the advocacy team, as appropriate.

Role and Responsibilities

· Managing a caseload of legacy gifts: This includes pecuniary, residuary and life interest legacies, ensuring IFAW receives its full entitlement in a timely manner. This may include a small selection of contentious cases.

· Working closely with solicitors, executors, and beneficiaries: You’ll provide accurate and sensitive support throughout the probate process, building trust and ensuring a smooth experience for all parties involved.

· Maintaining meticulous records and reports: You’ll ensure accurate financial and contact records are kept, reports are generated on time, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements is met.

· Providing recommendations for action: You’ll provide your suggestions to move forward any legacy case where action needs to be sanctioned by management or Trustees, or where there may be a risk to the charity's reputation.

· Assisting with monthly/annual reconciliation and audit: This includes following our financial rules to make appropriate accruals, adjustments, and provide audit-ready case files.

· Liasing with other teams within IFAW: When appropriate, you’ll work collaboratively with other teams, such as Finance, Donor Relations or the Legal team, to ensure a seamless process for legacy gifts, and to promote the legacy team’s recognition and standing in the organisation through internal engagement.

· Staying up to date on relevant legislation and best practices: You’ll be a member of the ILM and regularly keep abreast of changes in the world on legacy case management, to ensure IFAW’s legacy administration remains efficient and compliant.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

· At least 1 year of experience in legacy administration or estate management: You’ll have a strong understanding of probate laws, Wills, trust, and estate administration. Experience of using FirstClass is desirable.

· Achieved or willing to work towards certification: You have or will work towards gaining the ILM’s Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA).

Database Officer (Raiser’s Edge) – Temporary Role
Location: Hybrid (London office 1–2 days/week)
Duration: 3–6 months
Salary: £21.97 per hour + holiday pay

We’re looking for an energetic and detail-focused Database Officer to join a passionate team working to make a difference. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys working with data, and wants to play a key role in supporting a busy fundraising operation.

You’ll bring your strong Raiser’s Edge experience, confident Excel skills, and an analytical mindset to help keep supporter data clean, accurate, and meaningful. You'll be someone who enjoys problem-solving, works well independently, and is happy juggling a varied workload.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately import supporter data from third-party platforms (e.g. Enthuse, JustGiving, payroll giving agencies).

• Use ImportOmatic to manage bulk data imports into Raiser’s Edge.

• Manually create or update records as needed.

• Maintain clean and reliable data by running regular cleansing routines and managing duplicate records.

• Process and record all types of gifts (cash, cheques, pledges, direct debits, online donations), ensuring they’re accurately coded and tracked.

• Submit Gift Aid claims in collaboration with Finance and ensure all relevant information is correctly captured.

• Respond to database queries and support requests across the team.

• Assist in a major database migration project to Microsoft Dynamics.

About You:

• You’re a confident Raiser’s Edge user, ideally with experience of ImportOmatic.

• You have strong Excel skills and a keen eye for detail.

• You're familiar with importing and exporting data in bulk and enjoy working with supporter databases.

• You have experience using Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365.

The Adult Carers Team Leader reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for leading and managing the Adult Carers team. 

You will provide leadership and stability to the Adult Carers staff team, by line managing, coaching and supporting employees to create a happy, productive work environment. You will work within the Adult Carers team to deliver an engaging, accessible range of peer support groups, social activities and one to one support, working to targets and budget, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to funders.

This role requires you to work collaboratively with carers and professionals to meet carers’ needs and shape the service, building and maintaining strong partnerships to do so. You will support our wider organisational objectives and help out with events, communications and other ad hoc work.

Overall Purpose

The Office Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Foundation. This role is responsible for maintaining and developing administrative systems, both manual and digital, while supporting all core functions, including executive board, grant-making, fund development, and finance. Acting as the central support for the team, the role ensures internal processes run effectively by managing key administrative tasks and coordinating internal and external meetings. Through excellent organisation and attention to detail, the Office Administrator plays a vital role in keeping the foundation connected and running seamlessly.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support to all staff of the foundation.

Manage the administration of information systems, including filing and database management.

Type and word-process documents and letters as required.

Undertake routine collation of information relating to the foundation’s services.

Office Coordination & Communication 

Serve as the first point of contact for incoming phone calls and emails, greeting and assisting visitors, and overseeing the handling of incoming and outgoing post and deliveries.

Contacting individuals and groups by telephone when clarification or further information is required.

Provide customer service support when necessary.

Administer and keep up to date the contacts database and formal records or organisations the foundation works with.

Enter details of applications and donors into CRM systems.

Maintain and develop communication with affiliated and other voluntary groups, including supporting networking events.

Operations & Supplies Management

General office administration, including the maintenance of equipment inventories, training records, PAT testing schedules, and room bookings.

Manage the ordering and stocking of stationery, equipment and other office supplies.

Marcomms Support

Assist in the preparation, production, and distribution of regular newsletters, including maintaining the mailing list database.

Assist in posting content on social media platforms.

Executive Board Assistance

Work with the CEO to prepare and manage quarterly Board meetings for Foundation, and as required, other partners (including JCT)

Prepare for meetings, including compiling and distributing board papers, managing meeting dates and availability, and ensuring logistical arrangements.

Take accurate minutes and provide general administrative support for Board level members, always ensuring strict confidentiality.

Regularly update and maintain Board requirements, including EDI data, references, annual Conflict of Interest declarations, DBS checks, and other governance related documentation including Foundation Training log and Policy changes.

Provide administrative support to the Chair of Trustees as required, ensuring they have the necessary documentation, scheduling support, and other assistance to fulfil their role effectively.

Events and PR

Assist with organising events to showcase the Foundation’s work, including functions for donors, potential donors, community and voluntary groups.

Representing BLCF

Work as an effective Ambassador for the Foundation always, including at events and external networking.

Engage with the UK Community Foundation peer network to ensure the best practice is shared from across the sector

Experience

Demonstrable experience of using online file managements systems (e.g. SharePoint) to manage data and information relating to an organisations core systems, policies and processes. 

Experience in working at Board or senior levels with supporting administration and issues in a confidential manner.

Experience of working under pressure while effectively collaborating across teams to achieve objectives.

Experience in administrative work, including managing tasks efficiently and supporting operational processes.

Some understanding of the wider voluntary and charity sector. (D)

Excellent computer and administration skills, with experience using Word, Canva (or comparable design tools), Excel, PowerPoint, and databases such as Salesforce.

Demonstrably highly organised, capable of juggling projects and tasks, delivering structured plans, and adapting quickly to changing circumstances.

A self-starter, able to act on own initiative, organise, plan, and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
