We have an exciting opportunity for a Hub Administrative Assistant to work alongside our Hub Team Administrator for a fixed-term, from January 2025 until June 2025. This role will support our Community Work Manager with the administration necessary to deliver our community work. This currently includes two food pantry sessions a week, and a combined pop-up pantry and Living Room (warm space) session each week.
Key responsibilities of this role will be:
· To process applications to hub projects and manage communication with project members.
· To co-ordinate volunteer communications.
· To create and manage volunteer rotas.
· To ensure team leaders have all relevant information for each session.
· To ensure data is populated and managed accurately, and according to GDPR requirements.
The successful post holder must have:
· Excellent administration skills and attention to detail.
· Proven people skills and experience in relation to community work or the charity sector.
· Able to liaise with staff and volunteers from external organisations at all levels.

As the Senior MEL Officer in the MEL team, you will support the Head of Impact & Learning and the MEL Manager, as well as the Programmes & Impact department and wider team, to measure and analyse the quality and impact of our programming. You’ll use your strong organisation skills, experience in data collection and analysis, and ability to identify key trends and impact in our work. You will also work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that our impact and expertise in working with women entrepreneurs is measured and communicated accurately and effectively to our Board of Trustees and external stakeholders.
Department purpose
This role sits within the Programmes & Impact department, which is responsible for the development and delivery of our programmes and services, ensuring they are delivered to a high quality, remain responsive to women entrepreneurs’ needs and have demonstrable impact. The department is divided into three teams: Entrepreneurship, which is responsible for delivery of services such as HerVenture and the four ‘Road to’ programmes, Mentoring, which is responsible for development and delivery of the Mentoring Women in Business programme, and MEL, which is responsible for quality impact measurement, analysis and research.
Key responsibilities
Main obligations
- Support the development and implementation of MEL systems and tools across Mentoring and Entrepreneurship projects, providing the Foundation with the necessary information to understand our impact and inform programme improvements.
- Support in collection and analysis of organisational KPIs and provide overall operational support for the MEL team.
Specific responsibilities
- Programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
- Ensure up-to-date programme monitoring and evaluation materials (surveys, data collection tools and theoretical frameworks) are in place for existing programmes as well as those that are in development.
- In collaboration with colleagues in the Mentoring and Entrepreneurship teams, execute the annual calendar of programme and partner surveys, including uploading and testing the surveys.
- Develop analysis plans aligned to key research questions, programme goals and logical frameworks.
- Collect, clean and analyse quantitative and qualitative programme data aligned to programme goals, logical frameworks, organisational KPIs, and general summaries of findings.
- Collaborate with colleagues on the Mentoring and Entrepreneurship teams to support dissemination of programme findings and cross-site trends internally and externally.
Research and Evaluation
- Provide administrative, logistical and analytical support for programme evaluation and in-country data collection.

The Finance Business Partner will report into the Senior Finance Business Partner and provide Directorate and departmental support in achieving financial and operational objectives. The key duties of this Finance Business Partner are as follows:

About the role
We’re looking for a Media and Communications Officer to join our Media and PR team.
As a member of the team, you'll have a fundamental role in helping us to deliver on our promise to support young people and their families to deal with the impact of cancer, both during and beyond treatment.
This role, working together with other members of the Policy, Communications and Voice directorate and the wider charity, will help us achieve this by amplifying the voices and experiences of children and young people with cancer, influencing the system to create change and raising awareness and funds.

What will I be doing?
No two days are the same at Young Lives vs Cancer. So, summarising your ‘day to day’ isn’t easy. Here are some of the main things you’ll be doing, but you’ll find more details in the job description.
- Contributing to the development and delivery of the charity’s strategic media plan.
- Developing and implementing creative, effective communications plans for campaigns and projects, in-line with the charity’s overall strategic objectives.
- Writing materials for a range of on and offline channels and platforms including press releases, features, articles, opinion pieces and statements; ensuring these reflect Young Lives vs Cancer’s values and key messages.
- Developing real life stories based on the experience of children and young people, and their families, including interviewing, writing up and arranging photography and film content for use across the charity.

The Staying Close Tenancy Support Practitioner will provide support to identified children in care/leaving care; increasing their knowledge and understanding; enabling them to find and maintain a tenancy. The service will provide practical support and training through face-to-face 121 support, virtual delivery and on a targeted group work basis.
The aim of the programme is to sustain young people (16-25) in appropriate tenancies, equipping them to manage on a limited budget, looking after and maintaining their home, and supporting them to manage relationships with Landlords, housemates, and neighbours.
Face to face and virtual sessions will run over a 6-8-week period, helping to build and nurture positive relationships with young people, supporting them with maintaining boundaries and developing communication to achieve programme outcomes, managing retention.
Working inclusively alongside the young people, focusing on both a relational & strength-based approach, building on their inherent strengths, protective factors and what they want to achieve through the programme. Focus will be on children in residential care/supported lodgings/semi-independent accommodation and separated migrant children.
Work a 37 hours per week flexibly to enable the delivery of the training modules according to the needs of the attendees.
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
-A relevant professional qualification working with vulnerable children and families e.g., Diploma/degree in social work, counselling qualification, professional youth worker or related NVQ or degree.

You will be able to build relationships with those you support, take a reflective approach and work in cycles of ‘assess, plan, do review’ to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people. You will use psychological assessment and produce reports to contribute to an understanding of a child’s needs and work in collaboration with others to develop shared and person-centred plans of support.
You will be supported by and will support a small team of Educational Psychologists and Assistant Psychologists using formal and informal supervision, and you will be able to shape and contribute to the development of a service that is inclusive and celebratory of the experiences of the thoughts and ideas people bring. We are looking for a Local Policy and Partnerships Manager to drive local engagement and policy activity, ensuring that youth work is at the heart of decision-making at every level.
As Local Policy and Partnerships Manager, you will work closely with colleagues across NYA and key external stakeholders to lead local policy activity and stakeholder engagement. This includes aligning local initiatives with national influencing strategies, showcasing best practices, and ensuring youth work shapes policy at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Local Policy & Stakeholder Engagement: Drive local policy initiatives, build relationships with decision-makers, and support national youth work advocacy.
- Knowledge & Insights: Collaborate with the Knowledge Team to maintain and develop the Local Data Dashboard.
- Policy Monitoring: Track local political developments, identify advocacy opportunities, and align strategies with organisational goals.
- Written Outputs: Create policy materials such as briefings, reports, blogs, and consultation responses.
- Event Organisation: Plan and deliver impactful events, including local policy seminars and national conferences, to engage stakeholders and promote youth work policy.
