Overview:
In June 2023, Prince William and The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales launched Homewards. Homewards is a transformative five-year programme, working with six locations, to demonstrate that together it’s possible to end homelessness – making it rare, brief and unrepeated.
The Royal Foundation’s Homewards programme is recruiting into their Strategic Delivery team. This team will be focused on leveraging significant impact across the locations focused on key, cross-cutting, themes and report into the Programme Director.
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a motivated, creative and delivery-minded individual to join us as our Strategic Investment Lead. The Lead will work with partners to unlock more funding and finance for solutions to prevent and end homelessness. The role will focus on connecting our locations to finance and funding opportunities, driving capacity and confidence to engage where possible. It will also focus on unlocking new and improved flows of funding through strategic engagement with major global partners.
We are looking for a big thinker and pragmatic ‘doer’. This is a chance to create thriving local ecosystems across the UK connecting capital to solutions that will transform their approach to end homelessness – as well as shaping brand new finance opportunities. Our aim is to create models with our partners that can be scaled across the UK and beyond.
You might have worked for central Government on finance strategy in highly relevant area, or perhaps come from a strategy role at a major financial institution. You will understand the investment landscape but be able to think creatively about how it can be deployed to end homelessness.
Key Accountabilities, but not limited to:
- Lead, shape and deliver the funding and investment strategy as part of The Royal Foundation’s Homewards programme
- Work with a range of partners - experts, locations and partners from across the finance and investment sector to connect our locations to capital and leverage new forms of funding opportunities. The Strategic Investment Lead will be supported by an expert advisory group and specialist support as needed.
- Inspired by best practice and local progress, through partners, shape and support our locations to establish sustainable long-term connections and thriving ecosystems to deliver on their commitment to end homelessness
- Work with the Homewards location teams to ensure the funding and investment strategy delivers on Local Action Plans (our locations’ roadmaps to preventing and ending homelessness); and support them to identify high potential local partners and grow relevant local relationships
- Work closely with other Leads in the programme, specifically the Homes Lead and Employment Lead - and the central Partnerships team to ensure a joined-up approach which delivers maximum impact for Homewards and The Royal Foundation
- Work across the Homewards team to prioritise, co-develop and deliver the strategy, ensuring the approach is backed by a robust delivery plan
Relevant knowledge, experience and personal qualities
- Broad knowledge and experience of delivering finance and investment for social good and the role that debt, equity and grant/philanthropy can play in driving forward powerful societal outcomes – and an appetite to learn
- Demonstrable experience assessing risk and structuring relevant finance mechanisms, with a strong understanding of relevant language, concepts and approaches
- Comfortable and confidence engaging with a diverse range of partners from public, private and voluntary stakeholders to connect and create thriving place-based ecosystems
- Significant experience operating at a senior level working with major businesses to execute powerful new partnerships to create lasting impact - ideally with a focus on or background in a topic related to finance; and experience working at a local and national level to deliver
- A confident ‘Doer’ with a background in executing ambitious policy or programmes in a relevant setting
- Creative thinker with a desire to drive systemic change - understanding the role TRF and partners could play and what systemic change could look like when it to comes to delivering financial solutions to end that end homelessness
- Confident leader who can support and empower the Homewards team to confidently engage in this area; and be an ambassador for Homewards across the finance and social impact sector

Legacy Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legacy Officer to join our team. You would be responsible for your share of the legacy administration cases in the UK, ensuring that gifts left to IFAW in Wills are handled efficiently, sensitively, and in accordance with legal and organisational standards. You would report to the Global Legacy Administration Manager on a day-to-day basis. Your work will directly support IFAW’s mission by maximising income from legacies to fund our animal welfare and conservation efforts.

Role and Responsibilities
· Managing a caseload of legacy gifts: This includes pecuniary, residuary and life interest legacies, ensuring IFAW receives its full entitlement in a timely manner. This may include a small selection of contentious cases.
· Working closely with solicitors, executors, and beneficiaries: You’ll provide accurate and sensitive support throughout the probate process, building trust and ensuring a smooth experience for all parties involved.
· Maintaining meticulous records and reports: You’ll ensure accurate financial and contact records are kept, reports are generated on time, and compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements is met.
· Providing recommendations for action: You’ll provide your suggestions to move forward any legacy case where action needs to be sanctioned by management or Trustees, or where there may be a risk to the charity's reputation.
· Assisting with monthly/annual reconciliation and audit: This includes following our financial rules to make appropriate accruals, adjustments, and provide audit-ready case files.
· Liasing with other teams within IFAW: When appropriate, you’ll work collaboratively with other teams, such as Finance, Donor Relations or the Legal team, to ensure a seamless process for legacy gifts, and to promote the legacy team’s recognition and standing in the organisation through internal engagement.
· Staying up to date on relevant legislation and best practices: You’ll be a member of the ILM and regularly keep abreast of changes in the world on legacy case management, to ensure IFAW’s legacy administration remains efficient and compliant.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· At least 1 year of experience in legacy administration or estate management: You’ll have a strong understanding of probate laws, Wills, trust, and estate administration. Experience of using FirstClass is desirable.
· Achieved or willing to work towards certification: You have or will work towards gaining the ILM’s Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (CiCLA).

· Excellent attention to detail: You’re numerate, careful and ensure accuracy in all your work.
· Strong communication skills: You can build rapport with solicitors, executors, and bereaved families, providing sensitive and clear communication.

Myeloma Patients Europe (MPE) is offering an exciting position as Communications Manager (Digital and Social Media) in a dynamic European non-profit patient advocacy organisation. This role will help deliver the MPE communications strategy, providing both strategic and operational support across the organisation, and ensuring that MPE is increasing our reach and impact to improve the lives and experiences of myeloma patients.
As Communications Manager (Digital and Social Media), you will work with the Head of Communications and other key staff across to the organisation to:
- Implement MPE communications strategy, monitor and improve MPE reach, and increase impact with key stakeholders
- Develop and disseminate strong and relevant messaging for key stakeholders
- Monitor and evaluate our performance and reach across digital and social communications channels
This will include working on the following core activities and tasks:
Digital communications (40%)
- Writing, editing and updating content for the MPE website (i.e. using WordPress, Elementor and other content management systems)
- Developing written and graphic content for MPE programme specific websites (such as MPE Navigator and Myeloma Access Atlas)
- Collaborating with relevant MPE staff on digital content development and publication
- Designing educational and promotional materials including leaflets, reports, patient materials, campaign materials and social media adverts/cards/images
- Supporting the Head of Communications with the development and management of monthly E-newsletter content, webinars and other relevant communications activities
- Developing multi-media communications campaigns
Social media (40%)
- Leading MPE social media and content planning, maintaining and developing our content so that it engages our audiences, supports our messaging and strategic goals
- Managing MPE social media sites – LinkedIn, Facebook, etc, monitoring and advising on ways to increase reach
- Developing an annual content calendar reflecting significant internal and external events
Video filming and editing (15%)
- Supporting development of interview content with stakeholders (such as doctors, patients and other stakeholders)
- Video filming at various events, including medical congresses and the MPE Annual Masterclass
- Video editing and dissemination
Other (5%)
- Staff meetings, annual events, providing communications support to MPE team and other ad hoc communications tasks as required.
About you:
Essential
- Minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in communications role or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience of writing and developing communications content , social media posts, news stories and articles (this will be tested at interview)
- Experience of stakeholder engagement and increasing reach of an organisation via communications channels
- Ability to explain and communicate complex topics to diverse and lay audiences
- Basic digital design skills
- Excellence in writing, proofreading and editing in English. The ideal candidate will be a native English speaker
- Editorial and storytelling skills
- Strong knowledge of social media channels and ability to use analytics tools
- Experience using WordPress and/or other content management systems
- Self-motivating, flexible approach and ability to work with an international team in a virtual setting
Desirable
- Relevant degree in communications, English or comparable
- Design expertise and ability to use Adobe software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere) as well as other platforms such as Canva or PowToon
- Experience of video filming and edition
- Experience in patient advocacy or non-profit healthcare organisation
