Please note:

If Gilwell Based contract the expectation would be to come into the office once a week plus one day a month for collaboration with wider team

About Volunteering Executive Role:

The Volunteering Executive works as part of a team of volunteer and staff colleagues to design, develop and put into practice how we transform our volunteers’ experience so that it is easier, more inclusive and more rewarding. This will help us recruit more volunteers, who better reflect the communities where they volunteer.

Key responsibilities as our Volunteering Executive Role include:

• Lead on planning, co-creating and delivering new ways of working which support our work to transform the experience of Scouts volunteers
• Organise and support how we engage volunteers and potential volunteers in our transformation work, including recruiting participants, designing activities and working sessions, and testing, piloting and reviewing ideas and ways of working
• Work closely with the wider Volunteer Experience Programme team to ensure the overall volunteer experience is joined up, feeding into other relevant areas of work, communicating learning and insights, and identifying areas for collaboration
• Prepare for and support the roll out of new processes and systems, including creating resources and guidance to support volunteers and volunteer managers

Due to their ongoing growth plans they are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join their organisation. This role is responsible for supporting effective financial management and reporting for projects and budget holders based within the Academy’s Finance Team. You will spend the majority of your time interacting with programme managers and budget holders to support on budgeting, forecasting, analysis of budget variances and provide regular finance reports to them, including monthly management accounts to ensure financial control and effective decision making

Key areas of responsibility:

• Lead on the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process including preparing budget templates for completion by budget holders, summaries of submissions for review and scrutiny and reconciliations of departmental budget submissions from draft to final. 
• Work with Head of Finance to finalise the Academy budget for presenting to Director of Finance & Resources and the senior management team.
• Ensure that finalised forecasts and budgets are accurately imported into the accounting system and a full audit trail is maintained. 
• Assist the Head of Finance and senior management team with the preparation of multi-year forecasts and models for bids and scenario planning.
• Working closely with budget holders, act as finance business partner and critical friend by challenging assumptions and broadening their financial thinking in order to objectively assess risk and ensure consistency across teams with financial inter-dependencies.
• Providing adhoc advice to budget holders and programme managers on financial matters and contract agreements.
• Monitor expenditure on restricted funded projects to ensure compliance with terms of funding arrangements, manage grant claims and income and expenditure recognition, and discuss any over/under spending with budget holders and flag to Head of Finance as appropriate.

A fantastic charity representing a community of families bereaved by gambling-related suicide is looking for a Programme Manager - Gambling Harm Prevention, on a two-year fixed-term contract.

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Location: Home based with travel within the Midlands

As Programme Manager, you will take responsibility for the management and delivery of this range of prevention projects, initially focusing on work in the Midlands.

Key responsibilities include:

• Embedding and overseeing a project management approach to prevention programmes and delivery contracts.
• Coordinating and leading programmes and project meetings with the delivery team, ensuring project deliverables, KPIs and milestones are met.
• Managing relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including management, funders, partners and commissioners.

The successful candidate will have experience of managing projects and project management systems and will have some experience of delivering education, awareness or training initiatives to young people and/or adults. Experience in engaging and building relationships with a variety of relevant stakeholders in health, public health, education and in charities is key, alongside critical awareness of the role of the industry in influencing messaging around gambling. You must also have the ability to travel throughout England, and elsewhere in the UK and Ireland on occasion

In this role you will support the Philanthropy Manager and Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships in securing new four and five figure multi-year gifts from individuals. About you

You will be an excellent communicator, both orally and written, who is confident in speaking with supporters. You will manage your own pipeline of donors, so will need to take initiative, prioritise and organise your own work, with limited supervision. You may have had experience organising and hosting special events for stewardship and cultivation, but this is not essential. 

 You will have:

- Excellent customer service skills with a background in major donor, relationship fundraising, direct marketing or a similar role working with High-Net-Worth Individuals. 
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills with an ability to present ideas creatively and persuasively.
- Confidence soliciting and securing four and five figure gifts from prospective donors, both verbally and in writing. 
- Be comfortable managing a pipeline of supporters and presenting strategic planning recommendations based on data and analysis.
- A high standard of administrations skills with strong attention to detail.

Our Charitable Purposes Committee advises our Board of Trustees and is responsible for ensuring that the Charity’s resources are used effectively to support our provision of lifelong care and support for sufferers of the genetic skin disorder Epidermolysis Bullosa, and to support our investments in cutting edge research to find a cure for this debilitating condition.

Key responsibilities of the Charitable Purposes Committee are to:

• Review DEBRA UK’s Research & Care Strategy as it relates to research, health and community support and social policy on an ongoing basis.
• Receive and review reports from medical and scientific experts on current research activities.
• Determine, taking appropriate advice, the priorities for care and research expenditure each year.
• Oversee collaborative partnerships on care and research.
• Develop membership engagement, support and services.
• Review and develop healthcare initiatives to support member care.
• Receive reports on changes in national policy or practice within health and social care and agree appropriate responses from the Charity.

We provide any training necessary to allow you to fulfil your committee duties. This is an unpaid volunteer role, but any reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with the Charity’s expenses policy.

Meetings of the Charitable Purposes Committee currently take place four times a year, each lasting between 2.5-3 hours. The term of appointment is three years.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Healthier Places team. We are looking for a Graduate Engineer, to support in the delivery of our innovative programme of people-focused street and route design.

As a transport charity, the focus of the work will be the integration of Engineering and Placemaking as an integral part of Active Travel infrastructure projects. The principle objective of these projects will be to encourage higher levels of walking and cycling and the creation of equitable and accessible environments for all. 

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary design and engineering team, working on projects funded by Welsh Government, Transport for Wales, Welsh Local Authorities and engaging with diverse communities across Wales.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

Summary

ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of the Regional Safeguarding Manager role is to provide line management and professional supervision to a team of Regional Safeguarding Leads operating across eight regions in England.

As the Regional Safeguarding Manager, you will be a member of the National Safeguarding Team (NST), working to support safeguarding practice in Dioceses and Cathedrals across the Church of England. You will be responsible for supervising the Regional Safeguarding Leads and supporting them in fulfilling their complex roles. You will work closely with colleagues in the NST to ensure Church-wide consistency in approach.

You will work across the regions supporting the Regional Safeguarding leads to establish opportunities for shared resourcing, working arrangements and commissioning of collaborative services. In addition, you will be supporting the implementation of the National Safeguarding Standards to encourage consistency of practice.

You'll be responsible for:

• Providing Professional Supervision to the Regional Safeguarding Leads

About you

Covering both Devon and Cornwall, we are based in Plymouth and provide specialist advice to clients affected by the housing emergency.  We also provide housing rights and homelessness training and targeted advice sessions in the local community, with the goal of empowering local people to take action on housing issues, as well as working in partnership with local organisations to tackle the housing emergency.  We attend court in Plymouth, Torbay and Bideford, to provide advice to clients who are at risk of losing their home.

As Housing Rights Worker, you will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy in line with the hub’s local community priorities and work alongside people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues specific to Devon and Cornwall.  You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to help resolve their housing issues and engage with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand local housing issues and raise awareness of people’s rights.

Working within local community settings and alongside community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops you will ensure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their story, give their views and participate in the design and delivery of Shelter services. Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.

You will be able to work with individuals and communities including people with lived experience of homelessness. At RBL we’re looking for an experienced marketing manager to join our Fundraising directorate and lead a brilliant team to develop and implement a range of supporter acquisition marketing programmes to achieve the growth ambitions of our Fundraising strategy.

The Supporter Acquisition team is responsible for all marketing to attract new supporters across a large portfolio of appeals/products and media.  We are looking for someone to join us who has significant expertise with a wide range of marketing channels and can really add value to large well-established programmes with their experience, knowledge and drive to continually improve, identify appropriate new opportunities and shape supporter acquisition programmes.

The role involves leading an experienced team of two managers and two co-ordinators, and leading relationships with key suppliers.  The marketing programmes include most significantly face-to-face fundraising (from stands in retail space or expos/outdoor events and door-to-door) and DRTV advertising, plus some print campaigns, payroll giving and 3rd party marketing.  The role will also manage development projects that could include aspects of digital fundraising.  An important part of the role is developing advertising for the nation’s largest charity appeal, the Poppy Appeal each November.
