About the role

Do you love working with supporters or customers, and have brilliant administrative skills? And do you want to make a difference to people affected by breast cancer? If so, we’d love to hear from you. 

This is an exciting opportunity to start your fundraising career working as part of a newly created fundraising products team. You’ll work on our sector leading virtual events programme, which has raised millions of pounds to date, as well as innovative product development to help us reach new audiences. 

This is a varied role where you’ll play an important role in the smooth delivery of fundraising campaigns. A typical week may include providing brilliant stewardship to our supporters over email and phone, as well as to our online communities, and sending out fundraising materials. You might also develop new fundraising resources and content plans and help to setup a new campaign with the digital team. Joining a collaborative and fun team, you’ll be supported to learn and develop in your role. 

About you 

Having previously worked in a customer or supporter facing role, you’ll know how to provide a brilliant experience and be an excellent communicator. Friendly, organised and proactive, you’ll have great administrative skills gained in a professional environment where you’ve worked both independently and as part of a team. 

You’ll have a passion for fundraising and it’s a bonus if you’ve worked at a charity before. Some experience working with databases or supporting online communities would also be helpful but isn’t essential. We’re looking for someone with a positive, can do attitude who is eager to learn, deliver results and be part of a high performing team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a specialist women’s refuge, Service Manager. Someone who really cares about the rights of women and their children to join our new service in West London. This role is an opportunity for a leader to support and manage a refuge accommodation for women and children surviving domestic abuse many of whom are living with trauma . 
The service provides a much needed safe space and support for women to feel empowered in their healing journey and to feel secure in their independence, strength and skill. The successful candidate will support in leading the service which spans over 3 buildings and will develop their team which consists of support mentors and children and family workers. We are seeking a passionate, driven and motivated colleague to lead this service in a trauma informed and inclusive way. 

You will the have overall responsibility of your service and team, aiming to deliver a high quality, trauma informed service to your residents. Your role is to ensure full contract and regulatory compliance whilst being a role model/leader for your team to achieve KPI's and other requirements as per the service needs.

Shift/Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week in service Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, you may also be required to work outside these hours as per the service requirements and needs. You will also take part in our on call service.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Line Management and Leadership

• Provide high quality support, leadership and line management to staff, offer guidance, support, and advice to the team and support them to perform to the best of their abilities.

Service Delivery

• Manage the overall day-to-day operational delivery of your service, working directly with your team, colleagues, residents and participants, as well as other stakeholders to provide a high-quality, holistic service which meets the needs of our residents.
• Ensure service responsibilities and requirements are carried out effectively. This includes but is not limited to; welfare checks, risk assessments, support sessions, safeguarding checks, training and development, and other responsibilities required for effective service delivery.
• Support the team to carry out their day to day duties and responsibilities, offer guidance and support as necessary. 
• Work proactively to ensure the service and team meet and exceed Key Performance Indicators, and work in line with professional codes of conduct.
• Empower residents and participants to make decisions to take control over their lives, by creating an enabling environment.
• Be part of the operational on-call Rota for providing out-of-hours support across the operations directorate.

Risk Management

• Follow relevant risk assessment and management procedures, share relevant information with others as necessary.
• Ensure all case recording and information is accurately recorded in a timely manner, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR.
• Champion, and act as a point of reference for safeguarding concerns within the service(s). Ensure all staff attend relevant safeguarding and training and use knowledge to coach and advise the team.

Property and Housing Management

• Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
• Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents. 

Financial Management

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required. 

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. Please refer to the JDPS attached for more information.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• It is an occupational requirement that the post holder is female
• Knowledge of the needs of women experiencing domestic abuse and will have strong leadership and team development skills.
• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• Previous experience in people management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.

A key part of this role will be your ability to lead on the service operational response to vaping of illegal drugs in Plymouth.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced Administrator to join our new Volunteer Team. Are you an organised Administrator with experience of working in a complex organisation? As the Head of Care, you will ensure that the care we provide supports and reflects individuals’ mental health and physical needs, is culturally appropriate, and is continuously evaluated to ensure compliance with professional guidance and current best practice. Working in collaboration with the management and clinical teams, you will set standards, develop, and enhance high-quality care provision. You will be an integral member of the wider clinical leadership Team, driving continued improvement in service delivery and the professional development of the team members.

This role will incorporate providing strategic and operational direction to a range of clinical teams, including ensuring that all relevant local and national performance and service delivery requirements are met. Moreover, you will maintain effective operational links with other charities within the Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire (BOB) region, primary and secondary care services, and community support services.

To succeed in this role, you will possess significant senior level experience of leading and delivering clinical services; experience of multi-disciplinary collaboration at a senior level and experience of working collaboratively with other organisations; and knowledge of children’s palliative care or the hospice sector.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours per week, however, discussions about flexible working are welcome. Hybrid working opportunity is available once postholder is established in their role – minimum of 3 days per week on-site attendance will be required.

Working requirements, salary & benefits

• Salary between £22,000 and £24,000 dependant on location and experience, plus pension scheme
• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm. 28 days annual leave (including Christmas gift days)
• One year fixed term contract; we aim to support all Graduate coaches to progress to other roles with us after this initial year, with development towards management level within 3 years. 
• Occasional evening working required (for events such as termly Spear Celebration evenings)
• For most centres there is a requirement to become part of the partner church congregation, and you will be expected to participate in church team events as well as wider Resurgo team events, including weekly staff prayer meetings and annual staff conferences in summer and winter (one residential)

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Store Manager to join Barnardo's on a full-time permanent basis.

As a Store Manager you will manage the day to day running of our Leicester Store, leading a team of colleagues to maximise store sales and profits. By doing so you will play a crucial role in raising the funds for the amazing services and support Barnardo's provides for children, young people, parents, and carers across the UK.

Location: Unit 5 Sturdee Road Neighbourhood Centre, Sturdee Road, Leicester, LE2 9DA

Working Pattern: As the store is open 7 days a week, the successful post holder will be required to work 5 days out of 7 (total of 35 hours per week) on a rota basis which will include weekend and bank holiday working.

Please note the role will include moving high volumes of stock on a daily basis.

Some but not all key responsibilities are:

• Ensuring stock is generated over the door by members of the public and donors sign up to the Gift Aid scheme.
• Ensure that the high standard of service to customers that is expected by Barnardo's is maintained at all times.
• Implement promotions in the Store as directed by Head Office or your Area Business Manager.
• Maintain a high standard of presentation, both in the windows and the interior of the Store.
• Ensure there is adequate stock available on the shop floor, at all times, on all key lines
• Provide training, development, work reviews and appraisals for paid staff to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
• Create an organised and pleasant working environment for staff and volunteers.
• Actively recruit the correct/specified number volunteers to deliver the stores objectives and KPI's.

• Hold the shop keys, ensuring that the shop is secure whenever it is left unattended.

Ideal Candidates Must Haves:

• Ability to deliver excellent customer service.
• Experience of managing people
• Ability to liaise and respond to a variety of people from varying backgrounds.
• Ability to meet the needs of customers on a face-to-face basis, in order to generate sales and increase customer usage of the shop.
• Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply up to four figures in order to maintain budgets and complete accurately weekly income/banking sheets.
• Ability to handle cash and reconcile accurately.
• Proven experience of meeting targets and KPI's.
• Basic IT skills.

These high-street stores are reliant on donations from the public and corporate supporters,and generate funds from the sale of these donated items. You will have experience working with schools and colleges and understand the barriers some young people face to achieving good mental health and wellbeing. For the Lead and Senior Coordinator roles we are looking for someone with people and project management skills who are adept at building fruitful relationships.
