Greater Manchester Youth Federation (“GMYF”) is looking for 5 Part Time Youth Workers who will work with young people at their Partington Youth and Community Centre and Charlestown Youth Centre in Manchester.
About GMYF
GMYF is a long-established charity that works with young people across Greater Manchester, to support their aspirations and create opportunities. Our mission is to deliver a year-round programme of recreational and educational opportunities to young people, volunteers and leaders within our stand-alone centres and to provide support to affiliated clubs.
GMYF opened our first Youth Centre in Partington in September 2022 and are in the process of opening a new Youth Centre in Charlestown. These Centres provide support for young people with a wide range of activities and make a real difference to the lives of many young people. We also have various current/former playing field sites in the Greater Manchester area and jointly own an Outward Activities Centre in Cumbria – Ormside Mill. We have 27 affiliated clubs who undertake a variety of different activities for young people. GMYF has great ambition to continue to do more for young people, with its own assets and various potential funding opportunities.

The Roles
The role of the Youth Worker is to be young person centred and to provide a nurturing, safe and supporting environment for the young people, building and maintaining positive relationships with them. You will be predominantly based at Partington Youth and Community Centre working with 9-16 year olds. You will support the Youth Activities Lead in planning and delivering a full programme of activities including Centre-based activities and outdoor trips, as well as supporting our outdoor adventure team with outdoor activities and residentials.
Key areas of focus for the Youth Worker will be:

Support the young people: always take a young person-centred approach to all activities. Maintain the ethos of the organisation by providing a nurturing, safe and supporting environment. Build and maintain positive relationships with the young people, recognising their different needs and starting points. Have strong commitment to the values of acceptance and respect within youth and community work. Be a positive role model for the young people. Encourage the young people to take an active role in social action projects youth voice and young leader activities.

Assist the Youth Activities Lead: work together with the team in planning and delivery of full programme of activities, including evening youth club sessions. Assist in the development and introduction of additional activities eg twilight sessions, drop ins, youth voice, targeted group work, mentoring. Identify the formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the young people and plan a programme of positive interventions and innovations which enhances the knowledge, awareness and personal development of the young people. Articulate and record young people’s progression in sessional and project recording documentation and provide information for management and funding reporting. ·

Residentials: Attend weekend residentials and events at the GMYF’s outdoor pursuits centre and encourage the young people to get involved. Support and assist with the planning and delivery of off-site trips/activities and residentials at various locations.

Safeguarding: comply with all policies and procedures, with reference to safeguarding, codes of conduct, health and safety, and equality and diversity. Be alert to issues of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the welfare and safety of youth club members is promoted and safeguarded. Report any child protection concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Participate in Safeguarding training.

Represent Greater Manchester Youth Federation: Ensure conduct is professional and represents Greater Manchester Youth Federation in a positive manner both to internal and external visitors, working with a wide range of both local partners and community organisations.

Continued Personal Development: Commit to your own training and development, accessing available training including youth work specific courses e.g. National Youth Agency courses. Funding and support is available from GMYF to assist your continued development.
About You
We are looking for candidates who believe in GMYF’s mission and are experienced in working with young people. You should be able to build positive relationships with young people, always taking a young person centred approach. You will have some experience planning and delivering activities, and bring creative and innovative ideas about activities you could run for the young people. You should have strong teamwork and organisational skills, understanding of safeguarding, and willingness to undertake further training.
Salary & Benefits
£22,369-27,852 FTE depending on experience. NJC Grade 4-5
Hours: Part-time roles 17.5 hours per week – needs to be flexible, includes evenings and occasional residentials. Flexible working hours will be considered depending on successful candidates.

Fantastic opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join a world-renowned specialist Arts and education organisation, who will provide insightful financial management information that will help the organisation to make the best informed strategic and tactical decisions. By drawing on their high-level analytical skills and commercial acumen the Finance Business Partner will develop systems and processes to help shape a best-in-class business partnering support to their stakeholders.
Key areas of responsibility will include;
- Business partner including members of the Senior Management Team, academics, and heads of support functions
- Provide accurate, reliable, and timely financial information including monthly management accounts, forecast, budget-holder reports and project reporting.
- Build trusted partnerships with the business to influence and support tactical and strategic business decisions, promoting business improvements and cost reductions. Communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Help drive critical business actions.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, and the ongoing monitoring of actual and forecast financial performance, identifying any deviations and highlighting them to the Head of FP&A.
- Ensure an appropriate distinction is maintained between restricted and unrestricted funds and monitor use of restricted funds to ensure all restrictions are observed.
- Produce cash flow reports and prepare and monitor the cash flow forecast.
- Provide commercial analysis and support including, but not limited to, margin and profitability analysis, costings, forecasting and reviewing contracts.
- Prepare the trading subsidiary management accounts and support management in preparation of the budget.
- Work with the Head of FP&A to develop key performance metrics, appraise current activities of the organisation, and identify and communicate opportunities to maximise revenue and/or reduce expenditure.
- Provide ad-hoc financial guidance for departments as required, ensuring a high level of responsiveness and assistance to colleagues across the organisation.
- Ensure necessary financial reports for external bodies are completed appropriately and in a timely manner, including returns for statutory bodies, government departments and other agencies. For example, TRAC and HESA reporting
In order to be successful in either role, we are looking for formally qualified candidates (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) who have relevant experience of business partnering and excellent communication skills. You will adopt a continuous improvement mindset, thrive in an evolving environment and be adept at developing processes and procedures. An appetite for automation and further development of finance systems is greatly advantageous.
Your experience could have been gained in a Higher Education setting, ideally with exposure to TRAC or costing OR gained within a Charity/NfP where you have supported development or commercial operations.
Experience of reporting on capital programmes would be an advantage.

About the team
We’ve seen some incredibly significant changes in Shelter over the past four years, with a radical shift in our organisational strategy and the consequent need to change our ways of working fundamentally. About the role
This is an exciting new role within our Internal Communications and Engagement team, reporting to the Head of Internal Communication and Engagement, you’ll be responsible for not only supporting Shelter in engaging people in our strategy and the work we do, but also helping to build and shape our organisational culture.
We’ll rely on you to contribute to the development of Shelter’s listening strategy as well as designing and managing a range of listening opportunities that can maximise upward communication. Working closely with stakeholders, you’ll evaluate effective employee engagement approaches, analysing and summarising staff feedback data to identify themes while making recommendations for action planning. Acting as a project manager for all of our employee engagement initiatives, you’ll proactively identify and address issues related to our employee engagement while providing the right solutions. You’ll also be working alongside our EIC Senior Leadership Team to help review Shelter’s culture and support the implementation of a culture development plan that not only integrates our core values but also builds a sense of belonging while embedding our commitment to anti-racism.
About you
You’ll have experience of designing and delivering internal communications and engagement plans, as well as being able to implement a range of techniques to engage diverse audiences in organisational change. You’ll know what drives engagement, how to nurture strengths and deliver areas for improvement. What’s more, you’ll have knowledge about developing and integrating organisational values and behaviours and you’ll have experience of implementing listening strategies, including managing a framework of tools to capture views.
You’re adept at developing excellent relationships and can interact effectively with diverse internal audiences. You’ll be confident in devising research, analysing data and creating summary reports. As well as having experience of managing projects and producing events, you’ll also have advanced digital skills and knowledge of tools to communicate effectively. VOICES are excited to be seeking our first full time fundraiser to support our growth and development. We are looking for an individual who has relevant sector experience, a good knowledge and understanding of fundraising and a commitment to working in a trauma informed way. As a survivor led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will be proactive in consulting with our Lived Experience Group(s).
You will work closely with the CEO to help secure the long-term future of VOICES, through expanding and diversifying our income generation.
With a good understanding and knowledge of grants and trusts fundraising, you will also help direct our future – with consideration to community fundraising, charity shop and/or social enterprise. Whilst we’ve many ideas about what it might look like, no decisions have yet been made and we’re keen to work collaboratively with our new fundraiser and hear their vision.
At VOICES, we have big ambitions which would cement our role as sector leader in recovery services and ensuring survivors’ voices remain at the heart of policy and practice.
This role will also involve working to help develop VOICES’ name, increasing community awareness of our charity. You will therefore bring with you, knowledge of social media, marketing and communications and/or a willingness to learn.
Please be aware that due to the nature of the services delivered by VOICES in our safe space centre, this role is restricted to those assigned the gender female at birth in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, oversee and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy which exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, maintains diverse and sustainable income streams, and builds the organisation’s voluntary income capacity to meet its aims and objectives.
- Oversee and support the development of fundraising, with consideration to diversifying our income avenues.
- Working closely with the CEO and Finance Assistant, maintain an overview of funding across the organisation and analyse income sources to manage the fundraising strategy, assess progress against targets and contribute towards our financial capacity.
- Absorb the knowledge of the team and consult with them regarding priorities, representation, approach and model.
- Work with the CEO to develop high quality grants and trusts applications (our current main source of income).
- Build on our existing corporate partnerships and establish / develop new corporate partnerships for VOICES.
- Attend Finance Committee meetings and the Board of Trustees, reporting on fundraising and progress against the strategy.
- Help to grow the name of VOICES, through use of relationships, partnerships, marketing and communications.
- Work closely with the Centre Administrator to agree a planned approach to social media.
- Working with the VOICES team, consider the role of volunteers in VOICES – taking management responsibility for any fundraising volunteers.
- In line with our trauma-informed ethos, adopt a trauma-informed approach.
- Work with clients, including the Lived Experience Group, to hear their ideas for fundraising and enable their participation in events / volunteer opportunities where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including Clients, funders (including trusts, companies, major donors), Trustees and volunteers.

Post Title: Youth Violence Intervention Practitioner
Location: The role will be located at St. Mary's Hospital in London, with occasional travel to Redthread's other sites, including the head office in London. Scope of role
The Head of Programme & Organisational Development is also one of two Co-Leads of On Purpose London. As such, they are jointly responsible for the London Associate Programme in partnership with the Co-Lead of On Purpose London who focuses on Business Development & Community. The International Co-ordinator supports the effective delivery of Wales Arts International’s activities, its projects and services. A lot of people know NCT for our antenatal classes, and we want to continue to support as many parents and families as we can to access evidence-based information. But we are also much more than this. We are a charity that campaigns on the issues that matter to parents. We run breastfeeding and infant feeding support, provided by specialist counsellors. We run thousands of free community activities and events across the UK, led by our fantastic volunteers and peers. And we support women and families facing specific challenges, such as social isolation, feeding difficulties or poor mental health.
Our Lancashire Infant Feeding Support project is commissioned by Lancashire Council, to offer infant feeding support across the region in both community and hospital settings. The support is delivered by staff and volunteer peer supporters.
We are seeking a capable Peer Supporter who will support parents at Preston Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital and at various community settings in Lancashire and offer support in service user homes. This role will mainly be based at out in the community, with some homeworking (expenses will be reimbursed).
About the Role
You will be responsible for offering breastfeeding support for parents within Preston Hospital and Ormskirk Hospital and the community.
Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:
· Providing breastfeeding support to families on the wards at the hospitals, in service user homes and community settings within Lancashire.
· Support in delivering inductions for volunteer peer supporters.
· To report any concerns or additional support needs of women to the NCT management team and/or Infant Feeding Lead for referral onto partner agencies as appropriate.
· To attend regular supervision/support sessions.
· Having a good working knowledge and understanding of the local demographics in the Lancashire area and ensuring all support is accessible and inclusive.
· Ensure that data collection and feedback is collected in a timely manner in an inclusive way.
You must have good communication skills and be able to build relationships and create a rapport with a wide range of people easily. This is a large project and covers multiple locations so you must be able to confidently prioritise your own work, be highly organised and able to work independently.
Being able to make decisions and respond appropriately to our staff, peer supporters and parents and other external stakeholders is essential, alongside good IT skills– including Outlook, Word and Excel – and you must have good attention to detail.
It is essential for this post that you undertake the training to become an NCT Breastfeeding Peer Supporter. This requires breastfeeding experience of at least 3 months. The training can be undertaken within your working hours.
The role is 17.5 hours per week which will be worked Monday Tuesday, Thursday 09:00 – 15:00. This will be split across the two hospitals, in service user homes and at community settings across Lancashire, however there is also some home-based working required.

- Experience working in a service delivery organisation
- Expertise in managing and developing a service, and its processes, procedures and policies
- A track record in developing new service models and expertise in contributing to tender submissions
- Experience in developing and reviewing policies and strategies
- Expertise in collating and producing high-quality contract monitoring reports
- The ability to rapidly form and sustain a trusting relationship with service users/carers, peer support workers, staff and professionals
- A sound knowledge of best practice in case recording
- An ability to resolve complex issues and manage change positively
- An inspiring leadership style, with the confidence to make decisions
- Adaptability in your approach to respond to the diverse and ever-changing needs of our staff and stakeholders

We offer a friendly environment to work in and you'll be joining a team who are really making a difference in Cornwall.
This is a full time permanent position based in Cornwall and able to attend the CCF office in Lawhitton, Launceston at least one day a week (hybrid working) with some travel in Cornwall. A current driving licence is essential for this role as you will be required to travel on occasions.
