About the Role
Reporting to our Marketing Manager this role plays an important part in supporting SIB’s strategy and focus.

Key responsibilities
Marketing
1 Working with Marketing Manager to implement the Marketing Strategy, including contributing to campaigns, messages and stakeholder relations.
2. Supporting the implementation of marketing plans for specific funds, working with our delivery partners and sub-contractors, as appropriate, and helping with programme and fund roundtables and events.
3. Supporting the Director of Investments and the Marketing Manager in delivering new business strategies by providing market analysis and data, publicity plans, key messages, event planning, set up and coordination as necessary.
4. Supporting the Marketing Manager with marketing contacts in partner, investee and other stakeholder organisations, maintaining contacts and ensuring that SIB funds and programmes are represented across sector events and in peer publications.
5. Liaise with the Business Development Manager to contribute effectively to new tenders, including supplying accurate marketing and communications data and deliverable activities.
Communications
6. Working with the CEO, Deputy CEO and Marketing Manager to implement the Marketing Strategy, including developing and managing campaigns, messages and stakeholder relations.
7. Supporting the development of content and publications as required including newsletters, brochures and reports, case studies, blogs, articles, website content, e-newsletter content.
8. Working with the Marketing Manager and Policy and Communications Manager to liaise with external networks – national, third sector and key regional press contacts, other communications managers – to increase the reach of SIB’s work and to disseminate it widely.

- Experience of creating impactful marketing materials and campaigns utilising multiple channels and platforms.

About this role:
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Communications and Policy Manager will support SIB’s track record of sector, government and media engagement, notably the high standard of publication set through its media partnerships with Tortoise and the Financial Times, its contributions to the policy landscape in the social sector, and its in-house data analysis and insight generation. This new post will contribute to SIB’s ongoing communications and policy work and its reach and influence.
Key responsibilities
1. Support the delivery of a comprehensive plan for our communications and policy activity, combining ongoing promotional communications, specific activities for funds and programmes, and proactively generated content and opportunities to influence
2. Co-ordinating with SIB partners in developing and delivering communication work, on major projects such as the Youth Investment Fund, the Recovery Loan Fund and the Enterprise Development Programme; ensuring that it is powered by data and customer insight of the highest quality
3. Keeping track of policy developments in areas of strategic importance to SIB, notably in social investment, youth, community energy and infrastructure investment. Writing briefings on key policy developments related to SIB’s strategic priorities, proactively identifying opportunities to further our policy agenda; also researching and preparing responses for relevant external consultations, using SIB data and evidence
4. Identifying, cultivating and maintaining relationships and partnerships with key policy, research and communications stakeholders
5. Attending and providing oversight to the Social Investment Forum, as part of SIB’s secretariat and hosting
6. Writing, editing and producing engaging and relevant content at pace for web, social media and e-newsletters, as well as earned and paid channels
7. Management of any external suppliers of communications and policy activities, including agencies, designers, consultants and think tanks
8. Working with the Marketing Manager, Marketing and Events Coordinator, Business Development Manager and wider team to deliver successful external events with customers, stakeholders and partners including attendance at Party Conferences.

About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy CEO this is an exciting role supporting one of the UK’s leading social investors.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the work we do, is organised and has excellent attention to detail. The newly formed Impact and Insights Team exist to provide research, insights and evidence; helping Magic Breakfast to achieve our mission of ending child morning hunger now and for good. The Evaluation Manager is key role within the Impact and Insights Team, responsible for evaluating the service delivery programme at Magic Breakfast – this includes evaluating new pilot approaches, assessing the impact, driving continuous improvement and shaping our offer enabling us to tackle child morning hunger today.
The Evaluation Manager is pivotal in spearheading the strategic planning, delivery and dissemination of Magic Breakfast’s day-to-day evaluation activity, as part of the wider Impact and Insights Team’s approach to communicating research, evaluation and insights. The Karen Hilltribes Trust (KHT) is a UK registered Charity that has worked in Northern Thailand for the past three decades. Our mission is to partner with Karen communities to improve their health, livelihoods, and access to education. Since 1986, KHT has transformed the health and well-being of over 50,000 people through the provision of clean drinking water, improved sanitation facilities and hygiene education; secured agriculture as a sustainable livelihood for more than 17,000 farmers through the construction of flood-resistant irrigation systems; and increased accessed to education for 17,000 children and young people through school meals, transport and accommodation, and higher education scholarships.
Main Purpose of The Position
The Fundraising Manager will work closely with the Thai-Karen team and Director of KHT to secure funding to support the successful operation of the charity and implement projects in KHT’s three key programme areas: Community Health; Sustainable Livelihoods; and Access to Education. The role will be primarily desk based but with opportunities to travel to the field. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for:
• Developing and implementing KHT’s fundraising strategy;
• Applying for grants from foundations, corporations, and individuals;
• Implement Prospect Research on existing and new potential donors (major gifts, corporates, trusts and foundations, individual donors) and creating solicitation plans, informing the Director on updates and activities implementation;
• Implementing KHT’s volunteer strategy, ensuring it provides funding to KHT’s projects;

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Develop and maintain a fundraising strategy with the Director, paying particular attention to increasing unrestricted funding opportunities.
2. Help develop and implement a CSR strategy to better engage corporations.
3. Manage grant applications for our projects to existing and new funders, who may be foundations, corporations, or individual donors.
4. Implement Prospect Research on existing and new potential donors (major gifts, corporates, trusts and foundations, individual donors) and creating solicitation plans, informing the Director on updates and activities implementation;
5. Check and constantly update Donorfy database, in coordination with KHT Director and KHT Finance Administrator;
6. Recruit volunteers to join our projects in Thailand, organically and potentially through partnerships.
7. Keep relationship with KHT Board of Trustees, in order to keep them informed on any useful material and initiatives they may help KHT with.
8. Implement community fundraising activities and organise talks and fundraising events, with the support and help of KHT Trustees and volunteers.
9. Ensure that the organisation communicates regularly with its supporters, creating bespoke messages to increase engagement and donations and supporting social media content.
10. Ensure that the organisation complies with fundraising regulations set by the Charity Commission, Fundraising Regulator, and other relevant bodies.
11. Visit our team in Northern Thailand on an occasional basis (likely once a year) to better understand our work on the ground and support fundraising initiatives.
12. To perform other such duties as may be required by the Director, which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post.
Person Specification
You’ll likely have:
• Several years of experience in a relevant role fundraising for registered charities.
• Demonstrable success in securing funding through grant applications and by engaging donors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-level written communications in English and adapt writing style for an array of different audiences.
• Knowledge of Charity Commission/Fundraising Regulator regulations pertaining to fundraising.
• High level of computer literacy and a proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Confidence to present the work of the charity to donors and supporters.

Covid-19 has deepened inequalities (Social Mobility Foundation, 2022) and negatively impacted on young people's wellbeing (GirlGuiding, 2020). We believe that no girls should have their futures limited by their gender, sex, ethnicity, background, or parental income and they should be supported to realise their ambitions, to discover their self-worth, and to develop their capacity to shape their world and their futures.
We work in communities of least advantage across England to deliver two core programmes to achieve this vision. Through our mentoring programme we connect 14-19 year old girls with a mentor and a wider network of role models who are women and deliver opportunities which help them to build life skills and nurture their ambitions. Based on the idea that 'you can't be what you can't see', our mentors often help girls to broaden their horizons and create a more positive vision of their futures. After the programme, the mentees can join a free, lifelong network of support - our Ambassador Community, which offers further opportunities to reach their goals, build their confidence and to share their voices and experiences.

THE ROLE
This is an exciting role joining a Programme Team of 13 staff based throughout the UK. There is a small team of three based in the London. You will work closely and collaborate with the other Network Managers and share some priorities across the region, working to develop the region as a whole. The purpose of this role is to facilitate good relationships between the mentors and mentees in the region. 70-80% of the role is about relationship building (with schools, mentors and partners), coordination and the tracking/ administration of those relationships. 15-20% of the role is direct delivery with the girls in the region. You will play a crucial role setting up our 121 mentoring programmes, liaising with schools, recruiting mentors and ensuring that we have the right mentors for the mentees on programme. You will also deliver our workshop programme within the area.

- Manage overall success of the cohorts (groups of mentees and mentors) in your region, including coordinating and administering events and communications for cohorts in your area.

- Work with your Senior Network Manager to identify a recruitment and retention plan for your area including key partners to work with.
- Be an active presence in the community, attending events and networks to encourage local women to mentor on our programme.

- Advocate The Girls’ Network at every opportunity, through local media, PR activities and social media.
- Identify opportunities to build the reputation of The Girls’ Network in the North and through events and networking.
- Report significant successes and achievements to relevant staff members
Ongoing success of The Girls’ Network
- Work with the Programme Team to identify key areas for programme development.
- Opportunities to get involved in programme and wider organisational projects.
- Understand the development of school initiatives nationally and in your region, and understand their impact and implications for The Girls’ Network programmes.
- Attend programme and whole team meetings and team days.
- Maintain and champion a girls-centred way of working.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Essential skills, knowledge and attributes
- You are deeply passionate and driven to achieve equal opportunities for all and will keep the girls we work with at the heart of your work.
- You are able to build and manage a number of relationships with a variety of different people and are confident speaking to both young people and adults within schools and businesses.
- You are comfortable facilitating training sessions and workshops in person or online.
- You have project or programme management experience and are able to prioritise conflicting priorities.
- You are target oriented and will work towards achieving objectives and key results (OKRs) for the region.
- You are a fast learner and able to take on a busy schedule of work from the onset.
Desirable skills, knowledge and attributes
- You are flexible in your approach to working with a small organisation and understand the time and resource limitations.
- You have safeguarding knowledge and experience.
- You have experience of Salesforce or another CRM system.
