The post holder will ensure that our £2 million annual research spend funds the best work.  They will lead funding, governance, public and patient involvement and work closely with the Director for Research, Programmes and Impact to support strategic delivery.

The Head of Research will understand the research landscape and the processes required for research funding and governance.  They must also understand the role that the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) has in supporting this.  The post holder will be a strong communicator who can build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally, and work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.

We are seeking an Impact and Evaluation Manager to work closely with our Head of Data and Impact and Senior Data and Impact Officer. A key part of the role will be helping develop further how we evaluate the impact of our programmes. You’ll also be responsible for producing reports for different audiences including external partners and staff members delivering the IntoUniversity programme in our centres, and supporting with the management of our Salesforce database. As part of a small team, you’ll be involved in impact projects and providing key data support from the start.

The main duties of the role

• To work with the Impact and Operations teams to improve programme evaluation, including designing qualitative and quantitative impact and process evaluations.
• To lead the delivery of evaluations, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• To act as an impact expert for the charity, using data and impact reporting internally and externally to develop IntoUniversity’s strategic goals
• To play a key role in the formal data and impact reporting for the charity including the production of Impact Reports and annual university reports, and ensuring the impact microsite is kept up to date.
• To prepare reports on the performance of the charity, collating data and presenting it in clear formats for a variety of internal and external audiences including: staff delivering the programme; Regional Operations Managers; the charity’s Senior Leadership and Senior Management teams; Trustees; Donors; University partners.
• To develop and maintain expertise in research and evaluation methodologies
• To keep abreast of research and policy developments in relation to the higher education and charity sectors.

About the role:

We have a new opportunity for a highly organised individual to join our Housing Services Team, as a Housing Services & Income Administrator. With proven skills and experience of using IT and databases related to administrative tasks such as producing letters and reports with a clear focus on organisation skills, you will play an essential role with supporting the Housing Services team and Manager, and our supported accommodation teams.

In your role, you will be responsible for

• Maximising rental income and minimising loss through bad debts through efficient application SHP Procedures.
• Supporting the housing services team, and accommodation services teams to ensure that clients receive timely rent statement and letters.
• Maintaining effective management of accurate rent income records.
• Collating performance returns against KPI’s and provider monitoring returns.

The role will also require supporting the Senior Housing Services and Income Officers in dealing with repairs and building related matters, anti-social behaviour, complaints and neighbourhood disputes.

We are currently operating a blended working arrangement, that includes working from our Head Office in Kings Cross for a minimum of 3 days per week, as well as flexible occasional travel to our accommodation services across London. There is also some potential for home working, in agreement with the Head of Property Services.

The weekly working hours are 37.5 hrs, to be completed between 9am-5pm Mon- Fri, with occasional need to work outside of these times in the event of an emergency.

JOB PURPOSE

The Children and Young People’s Mentor will work within the CYP team to deliver services relating to children and young people affected by Domestic violence and Abuse.

They will hold a caseload for direct 1-1 work with young people/ girls and deliver a programme of groups in schools to adolescent girls. Responsibilities will include recording of data, reporting and completing evaluations.

They will be expected to promote the work of the Rising Sun and take a share of responsibility in delivering or assisting with promotional work within the organisation.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Service delivery

• Work 1-1 with young people (aged 11 to 15 years) affected by Domestic violence and Abuse
• Build positive working relationships with local schools to deliver this programme
• Hold own caseload and respond in a way that understands the needs of the young people the Rising Sun supports
• Work in a mentoring capacity with children and adolescents with a specific focus on domestic abuse and its impact
• Recognise the impact of domestic abuse on young people and families; showing empathy and understanding in working with these families and developing the capacity to adopt a trauma informed approach to the work
• Support and facilitate groups in schools and in the community focusing on healthy relationships, spotting red flags etc
• Work flexibly with young people and meet with them in a variety of settings such as schools, colleges and community centres, depending on their needs
• Work creatively and flexibly to help support a vulnerable and at times challenging client group.
• Build relationships with partner agencies such as social care, early help, schools, police and health services

Key Responsibilities:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

 Primary Function

Support the Programmes Director with design, planning, delivery and reporting of current and future Action4Youth Programmes and initiatives. The Programmes Manager will line manage specific programme teams, will have responsibility for working within a set budget and will be a key link with partner organisations ensuring best practice and efficient programme delivery. They will be responsible for monitoring contractual KPI’s and take the lead on reporting and impact measurement of specific programmes.

The Programmes Manager will need to provide cover for all their direct reports, as well having some of their own programme delivery. They will need to be confident with large groups of young people and be able to work flexibly. We are looking for an experienced line manager with good knowledge of HR processes and experience managing multiple different work streams. This a senior role suited to an experienced and insightful manager who will contribute to the strategic growth of Action4Youth.

Action4Youth currently operates a number of programmes/ services. The Programmes Manager will lead on the following; The Junction Youth Centre, The Inspiration Programme and Training/ Membership and Mentoring. You will also be required to assist with delivery and the on call rota for the National Citizen Service (NCS) programme during peak times. Other programmes may be added in future as Action4Youth develops new initiatives based on the needs of the young people we work with. This role will focus on each or any of these as required within Action4Youth’s overall senior team.

The Programmes Manager will directly line manage the Programmes Leader, The Junction Centre Manager and The Inspiration Programme Manager.

Programme Specific duties and responsibilities:

The Junction Youth Centre 

The Junction is a multi service youth centre based in High Wycombe town centre, it is open 7 days a week from 4-9pm. The Junction is for young people aged 12-18 years (up to 25 with SEND) and is funded entirely from Grants and Trusts. The service offers a variety of sessions ranging from a general youth space, health and wellbeing, cooking and 1:1 mentoring.

The Programmes Manager will be expected to work at The Junction one day a week from 2- 9pm and will work with the Centre Manager to ensure the smooth running of the service. You will oversee contractual KPI’s and lead on reporting. This role will include being part of an on-call rota during evening and weekends.

The Inspiration programme

The Inspiration programme is an Action4Youth initiative that aims to broaden horizons and raise aspirations of young people. The programme takes place in schools across Bucks, Milton Keynes and surrounding counties and follows five pillars; Police and Criminal Justice, Health and Wellbeing, Arts and Culture, Community and the Environment and Working Life.

The Programmes Manager will oversee the successful delivery of The Inspiration Programme and support the Inspiration Programme Manager to plan, timetable and deliver high quality programmes. They will be responsible for quality control and will personally deliver at least one TIP programme across the academic year. They will need to work closely with the Development Team on growth of the programme and broaden our reach into more schools and geographical areas.

Training/ Membership and Mentoring

Action4Youth is an umbrella organisation for voluntary youth clubs and groups across Bucks and Milton Keynes. The Programmes Leader provides training, both internally and externally, and line manages the Aylesbury Vale and Milton Keynes Mentor. You will support the Programmes Leader to lead our membership and training programme, achieving set KPI’s, and ensure the smooth delivery of our mentoring programme.

NCS

NCS is the government’s flagship youth development programme, funded through the NCS Trust. NCS offers 16 and 17 year-olds from different backgrounds the chance to take part in a range of challenging activities away from, and in, their communities.

The Programmes Manager will assist their counterpart in delivery of the NCS programme at peak times; specifically working on seasonal staffing, training and wave management. You will be part of an out of hours on call rota and be required to be on site on programme start and finish days. When on call you will be required to provide programme guidance and support on safeguarding and incidents.

 Key Tasks and Deliverables

•  Work closely with the Programmes Director, Programmes Manager and your direct reports to ensure the successful and effective implementation of the above programmes
• Assist with out of hours on call duties for NCS residentials and The Junction Youth Centre- this will include incident management and safeguarding support
• Provide day to day management of the assigned projects ensuring effective programme delivery
• Plan projects, monitor overall progress, manage risks, opportunities and resolve issues as required to keep projects on track to agreed baselines and objectives.
• Provide direct line management to staff of the assigned programmes

The team have been created to work alongside the high value teams (Philanthropy and Partnerships) to provide them with the highest quality donor research, funding propositions and stewardship materials required to create transformative partnerships with businesses, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations. 

As the Proposition Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in this team, supporting our ambitious high value fundraising strategy and the development of Prostate Cancer UK’s first Major Appeal. You'll take the lead in developing the Appeal case for support, and crafting funding propositions. Collaborating closely with our high-value fundraisers, you'll develop bespoke funding propositions ranging from six to seven figures, ensuring they resonate with potential donors. 

Your expertise will be central in guiding our high-value teams on creating impactful funding proposals, supported by consistent access to organisational priorities and plans. You'll also establish an 'Information Bank' of materials to support fundraising efforts. Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, you'll maintain the integrity of our data records in alignment with GDPR and organisational policies.

What we want from you

We’re looking for a fundraiser who understands high value fundraising. You’ll have experience in building compelling cases for support, bids and partnership concepts with major donors, companies, and potentially grant funders. Working in collaboration with our high value fundraisers, Research and Support and Influencing teams to create engaging and bespoke propositions. 

You’ll be an excellent communicator, often translating complex and technical information to a range of audiences and stakeholders in multiple formats (e.g. proposals, presentations or web copy). Your exceptional relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills will enable you to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

This is a rewarding role where you'll be supporting initiatives to deliver growth in high value fundraising, Philanthropy and Partnerships teams and assist in the development of long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with donors and partners.
