About the role:

In this newly created Head of Fundraising role, you’ll  have the unique opportunity to shape and lead our fundraising efforts. Our Hall Drive supported living service in Nottingham is a great example of how we support people in their community and keep them out of institutionalised care. Steven, one of the four residents, has autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy as well as a learning disability and tunnel vision. The majority of FitzRoy’s funding comes from statutory sources. Local authorities pay for the basic housing and support needs of the hundreds of people we support in supported living services, care homes, as well as in their own homes.

From a ground-breaking digital transformation programme, to assistive technology and home improvements and extensions, we rely on fundraising to transform our support, enabling us to provide the extras - that make a house a home, and a life well-lived and a person fulfilled.

FitzRoy was founded 60 years ago by two parents, Elizabeth Fitzroy and John Williams, who

pioneered a new way of caring for people with learning disabilities. At the time, most children and adults with learning disabilities lived a life of isolation, often ostracised from their communities and hidden away in institutions.

Our founders had an alternative vision – care in small, family style homes and where people with learning disabilities can flourish, living a life of independence and joy, and most importantly, the life they choose. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our Youth Activists and Ambassadors are equipped to challenge the global food system and advocate for change. 

Responsibilities 

The Youth Development Lead is accountable for: 

• Providing ongoing operational, administrative and mentoring support to ensure the smooth and effective running of our youth engagement, including:

  • Organising and facilitating regular group meetings.

  • Managing appropriate digital communication channels. 

  • Ensuring forums for engagement are engaging, fun, and tap into youth motivation. 

  • Planning and executing team and community building activities. 

  • Building a strong values-based culture, encouraging positivity, openness, collaboration and creativity. 

  • Developing progression and personal development opportunities for youth board members, as individuals and as a collective. 

  • Creating effective communication and collaboration channels with peers. 

  • Acting as the key point of contact for our Youth Board members, on standby to resolve any arising issues. 

• Ensuring that the highest level of safeguarding is upheld in all interactions with the Youth Board and Ambassadors, including the securing of consent forms, training of the young people for social media and media appearances, as well as liaising with partners, schools and parents/guardians.

• Taking steps, alongside the Head of Youth Activist Development to enable every young person to act as key representative of Bite Back, ensuring their needs, ideas, and strategic thinking is fed into wider organisational plans. 

• Supporting the design and delivery of training to empower 90 youth activists to aid us in activating our campaigns activities in a multitude of settings including media, policy, social media and public affairs. 

• Working effectively alongside the Head of Youth Activist Development and our colleagues in Communications and Brand on the recruitment and onboarding of the Youth Board Members. 

• Leading regular evaluations of the Youth Board programme, securing feedback from the youth activists on their experiences, and providing recommendations to shape strategy and approach in the future. 

The Youth Development Lead works closely with the Head of Youth Activist Development to ensure that we can provide a consistent and uplifting pathway for our youth activists. 

Skills and Experience 

The ideal candidate would have the following: 

Essential

• Experience working in youth engagement programmes in the UK. 

• Experience in designing and leading programmes and governance structures to empower young people. 

• Great project management, administration and operations experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines to high quality. 

• Experience in building and maintaining partnerships (preferably with schools, youth networks and community groups).

• Outstanding people skills, with the ability to form strong relationships with young people.

• Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills. 

• Knowledge of key safeguarding principles. 

• Understanding of the basic principles of campaigning. 

Desirable

• Experience of empowering young people to lead campaigns targeting the government or business to make policy changes. 

• Experience of evaluating the success of youth programmes. 

• Experience of working on children’s health in the UK.

• Experience of mentoring young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds. 

• Good understanding of the cultural landscape of young people in the UK.

Job Title: Education Advisor – Post 16

Salary: £31,764 per annum + £750 per annum homeworking allowance

Hours & Contract: 35 Hours per week – 12 month Fixed Term contract (maternity cover)

Overall Duties of the Education Advisor will include:

• Providing impartial careers advice, information and guidance to TACT young people and foster carers supporting them to prepare for leaving school, entering college, and considering which post 16 education pathway is appropriate for them. 
• Working alongside TACT’s Advisory teachers, TACT Connect, CRWs, SSWs and carers to support young people cared for by TACT to engage in education, training, or employment post 16. 
• Supporting the delivery of quality careers exploration ensuring young people have a wide range of opportunities and experiences provided to consider all KS4, Post 16 and Post 18 pathways. 
• Ensuring young people are prepared for adult life as a learner in Higher, Further colleges or university, as well as working life, including apprenticeships or employment. 
• Ensuring that no young person is NEET and if any young person needs support to re-engage in their post 16 pathway that re-engagement plans are drawn up to reflect the individual’s interests and needs. 
• Maintaining timely and accurate record keeping on Charms (in house system).
• Responding to telephone calls and attending virtual meetings. 
• Communicating professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, carers, and third-party agencies to establish professional working relationships which focus on the best outcomes for the children and young people in our care. 
• Working flexibly within the team and autonomously as needed to manage your time and duties 

We are looking for candidates with:

• Degree level education or equivalent 
• Professional teaching qualification and current Registration with DFE (desirable but not essential)
• Experience of working in a similar career/role in a secondary school or college setting in Student Support and/or Careers Guidance
• Experience in working with a range of local authority services, including Virtual School, SEN & Social Care 
• Experience of working with Children in Care/Care Experienced Young People 
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team 
• Experience of working in a busy and demanding role 
• Confidence in using all Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, One Drive & SharePoint 
• Experience of using a software system to record and maintain timely records

About the role:

The Organisation

The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity created in March 2017. We manage over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats and historic buildings and monuments in eight Royal Parks across London. These are Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

The Role

As a Park Officer, you will assist in the management of Greenwich Park, focusing on developing and enhancing contract and service delivery.

Assisting the Park Manager and Assistant Park Manager, you will ensure excellent presentation of the park, safe facilities for visitors and good grounds maintenance.

You will support the day to day operations, leading one-off park projects and supporting other teams by responding to correspondence and enquires from the public, stakeholders, contractors and event organisers.

• Manage our natural habitats, including the natural play area, Greenwich Park Learning Centre landscape, green roof, and the deer paddock
• Liaise with the PACE Officer and Learning Team for Learning Centre management and community use

• Manage mobility volunteers and equipment

About You

To be considered as a Park Officer, you will need:

• Experience of managing public accessible places such as parks, gardens, open spaces or nature reserves in compliance with relevant legislation and health and safety practices
• Knowledge of managing urban parks, open spaces or nature reserves in terms of operations, service standards and service improvement
• An understanding of the importance of parks within an urban setting
• A Level 2 qualification (or equivalent experience) in Horticulture, Landscape Management, Heritage or Conservation

We are recruiting an experienced Communications Officer to support the effective delivery of our Communications and Marketing strategy, by helping us plan and implement high-quality, on brand communications activities across all our channels. Greater Manchester Rape Crisis  are looking for a qualified Independent Sexual Violence Advisor to join our friendly and committed team.

Your role will be to support women practically and emotionally as they go through the criminal justice system.

Main Duties

Undertake risk assessment and support needs analysis with client

Develop individual action plans to address risks/support needs of clients

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service.
