Airplay is part of the RAF Benevolent fund and run by One YMCA. We provide youth clubs for children aged eight to eighteen which includes Ben Clubs for children aged 5 to 7 too. We provide a range of social activities in state-of-the-art facilities with sessions run by our friendly youth workers.

MAIN TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
· To support the provision of the Airplay and Ben Club activities and workshops
· Developing relationships with young people in a safe environment
· Supervising children and young people in activities, workshops and discussion sessions
· Engaging in learning and play with younger children
· Working with children and young people to track their progress
· Data entry/light admin work may be required

Our Crisis nail bar gives guests a chance to feel pampered and confident and, along with salon and massage, is one of our busiest and most popular services.
Nail technicians offer a shape, buff and polish service and can also offer hand massages. We do not offer shellac or nail extensions.

Core tasks
- You will be volunteering at our Health & Wellbeing Day(s). These events are an opportunity for members to access a range of health & wellbeing services from the safety and comfort of our Skylight. All treatments are clothed.
- You will be part of a specialist volunteer team which may include: Hairdressers, Masseuses, Physiotherapists and GPs and Nurses.
- Our training will show you what to expect when offering nail technician services in our Christmas centres.

Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of sight loss and RNIB services at local events. You will give talks in person or virtually, sharing your own story to improve understanding of sight loss to local service providers and community groups. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to improve accessibility and inclusivity, creating a world without barriers. Could you help to raise vital funds for SSAFA in your local area? You don’t need a military background, just the ability to get on with all kinds of people, some basic I.T skills and good written and spoken English. If you already have some fundraising experience that would be great too but it’s not essential.
What is a Fundraising Coordinator?
As Fundraising Coordinator, you would work with your local SSAFA branch to develop a Fundraising Plan. You would be central to delivering this local plan to raise funds through a range of local sources including grants, trusts, appeals, collections, and events.
Why do we need you?
We’ve been supporting the Armed Forces community since 1885. Our clients come from all backgrounds and age groups and may have served in WW2 or in a more recent conflict like the Falklands or Afghanistan.
There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and overseas who support local volunteers to deliver services to veterans, serving personnel and their families. Some branches are divided into smaller divisions to ensure the best local service delivery. Each branch has a team of volunteer caseworkers, support volunteers, executive roles, and fundraisers.
SSAFA branches rely on a regular charitable income to fund all the necessities behind our support for clients. This includes volunteer travel expenses, phone bills, publicity, and grants for clients in urgent needs. A varied programme of fundraising also keeps the SSAFA profile high in the local community. We’d love to hear from you if you could help by coordinating this vital aspect of your local SSAFA branch.
When would you be needed and where would you be based?
As part of your local branch, you might have access to an office, but many volunteers are based at home. You would also be out and about at events and meetings. This role would suit someone looking to give a regular time commitment to SSAFA although when and where would be flexible to suit you.
What would you be doing?
- Developing an ethical fundraising plan based on the needs of the branch and choosing a mix of sources.
- Working with the branch secretary and Regional Fundraising Manager, recruit a team of fundraising volunteers to support events, appeals and collections.
- Working with the Regional Fundraising Manager, support national fundraising campaigns.
- Working with the Branch Publicity Officer, develop opportunities to combine awareness and fundraising.
- Planning and running local appeals, collections, and events
- Identifying and submitting applications to appropriate trusts and grant funding organisations
- Working with Marketing staff at central office check that all fundraising materials meet SSAFA branding style and current key messages.
- Liaise with Regional Fundraising Manager when pursuing opportunities beyond local sources e.g., corporates.
- Evaluate fundraising activities and provide reports and information for the branch.
- Being a positive ambassador for SSAFA including all sections of the community in awareness raising
- Volunteering within the standards and values of SSAFA including observing our policies such as the Volunteering policy and data protection policy (these will be covered in your training and local induction.)
The remit of this role may change over the next 12-18 months depending on the outcome of a trial currently being undertaken.

- Ability to send and receive emails – you will receive your own SSAFA email address.

What is a Serving Community Team Fundraising Coordinator?
There is a SSAFA presence throughout the serving community, both in the UK and overseas. In many areas SSAFA have Serving Community Teams that offer financial, practical, and emotional support to serving personnel and their families. Each team is formed of a group of dedicated volunteers who make this possible.
Fundraising Coordinators are essential members of the Serving Community Team. They lead the development and delivery of a local fundraising plan. With the help of Fundraising Volunteers, this could include coordinating events, appeals, local grants or collections.
What difference will you make?
Volunteers are the lifeblood of SSAFA. We have been involving volunteers in supporting the Armed Forces community for more than 130 years. Our beneficiaries come from all backgrounds and age groups and the number of people contacting us for help rises each year.
In order to keep providing support to those who need it most, we need Fundraising Coordinators who can shout about the impact of SSAFA, and inspire people to donate, support our mission and join our community.
What will you be doing?
Although every SSAFA Serving Community Team has different needs, below are the main activities of a Fundraising Coordinator:
- Planning and strategy: Leading the development of a local fundraising plan with support from the wider team, including the Engagement and Events Coordinator.
- Growing a team: Together with the Serving Community Team Volunteering Co-ordinator and SSAFA’s Regional Fundraising Manager, recruiting and supporting a group of fundraising volunteers to help deliver your fundraising ideas.
- Marketing: With help from SSAFA’s Marketing and Communications team creating eye-catching fundraising materials to support the annual fundraising plan.
- Reporting: Tracking and reporting on the success of fundraising activities and providing an annual report to SSAFA Central Office.

HiDDEN is seeking a passionate independent Chair to spearhead our network in celebrating and preserving Greater Manchester's hidden heritage and unique stories.

HiDDEN is a supportive network celebrating unique and rare heritage, believing that we are stronger together. Our vision is to be recognised as a champion of hidden heritage, increasing the preservation and visibility of rare stories and collections across Greater Manchester. Brentford FC Community Sports Trust (BFCCST), an award-winning independent charity in partnership with Premier League Brentford Football Club, is seeking 2-3 new Trustees to join our dynamic Board.
Role:Brentford FC Community Sports Trust Trustee (x3)
Term: 3 years (Renewable for up to 9 years)
Time Commitment: 1-2 days per month on average.
Trustees will be expected to attend at least 4 in-person Board meetings per year. Plus at least 4 sub group meetings and 2/3 Strategy Days per annum, as well as visiting programmes in action that the Board delivers and attending bi monthly events. Depending on the skill set offered by individuals, Trustees will also have regular additional meetings with Officers in specialist areas to help shape strategy.
Remuneration: This is an unpaid role but reasonable expenses incurred are refundable in accordance with BFCCST’s Trustee Expenses policy.

About the opportunity
This role involves providing talks to a variety of groups, schools and organisations within your local area, raising awareness of the charity and promoting our fundraising activities.
There is no minimum commitment. Times can vary, and you can choose which talks you attend. Talks mainly take place during the week, with some evenings and weekends. The length of each talk will vary depending on the group’s requirements.

Young Enterprise’s Team Programme is an enterprise journey for students who have mild to moderate learning difficulties. Designed to aid young people’s transition from education into independent living and employment, the programme develops confidence and life skills through working as a team to set up and run an enterprise.
This hands-on and highly impactful role involves mentoring and encouraging students with learning disabilities and other complex needs to face the challenges of running a business, and learn critical life skills, in a safe space.
Team Programme Volunteers are primarily based within schools/ colleges supporting a group of students with learning disabilities. They will volunteer alongside school staff to ensure the young people are able to flourish. Young people particularly value volunteers who can attend in person as this support their learning and development of social skills.
The time commitment can be variable depending on the particular needs of the group. At most this will involve around one hour per week, attending weekly company meetings throughout the school academic year, however in some cases may be less frequent than this.
What you will be doing
- Coaching, mentoring, and positively supporting young people with learning disabilities and autism through their business adventure
- Attending regular company meetings within the school environment
- Liaising closely with the lead teacher to achieve the best outcomes for young people
The skills you need
- Patient, encouraging and open-minded
- Open to learning new things, to challenge and in turn be challenged
- Comfortable in the presence of young people with learning disabilities (but no specific experience is necessary)
- Able to commit to attending regular face to face student company meetings within a school . Continuity for this group of young people is particularly important
- Able to communicate clearly and directly with young people with learning disabilities, who may also have communication difficulties
- A creative thinker, able to support young people experiencing additional barriers to overcome challenges

We’re looking for one or two Corporate Champions over the age of 18 years old, based in various locations across Northern Ireland.
You’ll be volunteering for 5 to 6 hours per month. The dates and times will be determined with the volunteer
As a Corporate Champion you will build relationships and connect with people, places and organisations to raise awareness of stroke and the Stroke Association within the community. By making these connections you will contribute to income and improve the experience of people affected by stroke.
The volunteer will have:
· A passion and enthusiasm for raising awareness of stroke.
· An enjoyment of talking to people and communities, either one to one, or presenting to groups.
· A keenness to demonstrate our values, and to help improve care and support for stroke survivors.
· The ability to travel to venues and events by yourself.
· A willingness to use technology e.g. ZOOM and Microsoft Teams to engage with people outside of your local area, and our intranet and learning platform to access resources and training
· Knowledge of local corporate companies and the ability to research independently

DETAILED DESCRIPTION
You’ll find plenty of ways to use your listening skills as well as being a first point of advice for practical concerns that young people face. You might be part of a drop-in session with low-key activities like pool and table tennis that offer a safe space for young people to spend time with their peers or sports enthusiasts can lend their skills to 5-a-side football sessions or Gym Skills sessions. We’ve got opportunities for creatives, and we also offer programmes that look at specific issues, including body image, and managing anxiety.

Join our amazing volunteer team to raise awareness of sight loss and RNIB services at local events. You will give talks in person or virtually, sharing your own story to improve understanding of sight loss to local service providers and community groups. You’ll be making a real difference to people living with sight loss by helping to improve accessibility and inclusivity, creating a world without barriers.
