We're looking for a Supporter Care Officer to join Your Place and be part of our dedicated team to help us with our mission to solve homelessness in east London, one person at a time!

About the role

Based within the Fundraising Team, this role is responsible for providing exceptional supporter care to our donors and fundraisers, ensuring accurate record keeping and reporting, and supporting various income streams for the charity including individual giving and community fundraising. It is an important role within the Fundraising and Communications Department, which is responsible for raising the profile of the organisation and the experiences of those we are here to help, and mobilising support to the cause.

This role will help acquire and steward existing and prospective supporters, including individuals, schools and faith groups taking part in fundraising events and activities, as well as one-off and regular donors. It will ensure people receive an excellent supporter experience, so that both they feel valued and informed about the impact they are making.

Supporter Experience

• Be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries, providing information, support and materials quickly and efficiently.

Fundraising Administration and Best Practice

• Manage and update supporter records and report on fundraising activity and performance.
• Work with the Fundraising and Finance Teams to process donations and reconcile fundraising income.
• Prepare supporter data analysis reports to support planned activity.
• Assist with fundraising, marketing projects, and campaigns.
• Ensure activity and communications meet fundraising best practice, as well as our brand guidelines and organisational values.

Community Fundraising and Individual Giving

• Lead on relationships with existing community supporters, including fundraisers, schools and faith groups, ensuring an excellent supporter experience.
• Help to identify opportunities to grow our community of supporters, and plan engagement initiatives and events that raise the profile of the organisation and lead to increasing levels of public support.
• Work with colleagues to acquire new supporters using a planned process of cultivation, conversion and stewardship.
• Support the Senior Individual Giving and Legacies Officer and Senior Philanthropy Officer to develop and implement campaigns and donor journeys.

Volunteering and Gifts in Kind

• Work collaboratively with volunteers and the Community Partnerships Team to ensure adequate support for fundraising activity and outreach opportunities.
• Work collaboratively with the Facilities Team to maintain and develop our food donation programme.

General

• To attend meetings internally as and when necessary, for example, Directorate, Management and planning meetings.
• To undertake such other duties within the competence of the post holder which may be required from time to time.

Welsh Programme Coordinator

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Welsh Programme Coordinator to implement the fundraising strategy for an important charity.
 

Position: Welsh Programme Coordinator

Location: Remote working with some travel required for in-person meetings and events when appropriate.

Hours: Flexible working Monday – Thursday

Contract: Fixed term 10 months with the opportunity to extend based on funds secured

Salary: £33,000 p/a for 32 hours per week

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to support the implementation of the organisation’s strategy in Wales, to demystify Welsh democracy and to support women to find their role within it. This person will work closely with the Programme team which currently comprises of a Scotland Programme Coordinator and the CEO to co-create the programme of work and collaborate with the Communications Team to ensure it is promoted to the women of Wales.

The key elements of the role are:

• Act as a point of contact for our growing community of women across Wales.
• Coordinate the development of the organisation’s Welsh learning hub; a suite of fully accessible, women-centred political literacy resources.
• Coordinate the annual programme of activity for women in Wales.
• Support the development of the learning hub.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work with the communications team to grow the community of women working with the organisation across Wales
• Grow a network of 30 grassroots organisations working with women across Wales; to grow a foundational community of 200 women actively engaged in Wales’s democracy.
• Facilitate a network of Welsh women in elected office
• Work with senior leadership to nurture relationships with governments and democratic institutions across Wales to connect individual initiatives working to encourage more women to participate in democracy.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with key organisations working in intersectional feminism and political literacy across Wales.
• Work with social researchers to capture the experiences of women in Wales engaged in the Welsh democratic and political processes

We support refugees and people seeking asylum, many of whom are torture survivors, through an integrated programme of therapeutic and casework assistance, in the context of a community of survivors. Our approach recognises the political context of our community members’ multiple and ongoing experiences of trauma and marginalisation including in their home country, on their journey to, and within, the UK. We offer long term and holistic support.

We are looking for a Director (maternity cover) who:

• Understands the experiences of our members in order to sustain Room to Heal’s therapeutic community and ensure the safety and appropriateness of all of our services
• Has awareness and interest in psychotherapy and group work
• Makes strategic decisions that centre the experience of refugees and people seeking asylum alongside maintaining the sustainability of the organisation

Hours:  7.5 hours per day (typically 9.30am – 5.30 pm with a half hour for lunch) 5 days a week. We will also consider 4 days per week, salary pro-rata’d

The primary purpose of this role is to deliver activities to young people within the school that contribute towards the development of happy, thriving and resilient young adults. The role will promote their positive school experience and contributions to society.

• Work co-operatively with the school, under the management of The Eikon Charity staff to ensure the highest quality of delivery and support

As part of these exciting roles, you will support the respective Global Directors by enabling them to operate at the highest level towards achieving our strategic objectives. These roles involve comprehensive administrative support, effective time management, and coordination of various activities and events with a high level of accuracy. To succeed as an Assistant to our Global Directors, you will need to demonstrate strong administrative organisational skills, and be able to efficiently manage complex schedules, while meticulously coordinating travel logistics, researching travel, and orchestrating meetings and events, with excellent attention to detail. Your effective communication abilities, both verbal and written, will play a critical role in handling correspondence, managing expenses, and preparing comprehensive notes and project support. You will need to have a proactive, methodical approach to supporting project administration, be able to prioritise and maintain accurate databases, with the ability to work with flexibility, proactivity, with minimal supervision, recording and reporting regularly on progress and completed tasks. Project Overview:

We are embarking on a large-scale project to expand and enhance the facilities and services of Living Potential Care Farm. This project aims to develop new therapeutic areas, upgrade existing infrastructure, and introduce innovative programs to better serve our community. We urgently seek an experienced and dynamic Fundraiser to lead our fundraising efforts, ensuring the successful realization of this transformative initiative.

Role Summary:

The Fundraiser will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the expansion project. This includes identifying and securing funding from diverse sources such as grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, foundations, and lotteries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in fundraising for large projects, excellent communication skills, and a strong network within the philanthropic community. Due to the urgency of this project, the candidate must be able to start immediately and hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement a detailed fundraising plan for the project.

Location:

The Policy Communications Officer will assist in increasing the visibility of Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) to external audiences, with a particular focus on influencing key political stakeholders, such as the next UK government, to support policy change.

The Policy Communications team sits within the Communications Department but works closely and collaboratively with the Policy and Public Affairs Department to maximise the success and influence of their work by gaining cut-through with key audiences and inspiring positive, urgent action. This is a varied role, covering areas across diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The postholder will also assist with efforts to shape public health policy around dementia, including dementia risk reduction and brain health messaging.

The postholder will develop engaging and compelling content for a range of communications channels, with the aim of developing the charity’s voice as an expert commentator on dementia policy and establishing the charity as a thought leader in the UK.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Working with the Policy Communications Manager to lead on the creation and delivery of communications and content to support ARUK's policy and public affairs activity, working through multiple channels including national media, newsletters, website content and social media.

· Develop effective relationships with ARUK’s Communications Department, Policy & Public Affairs Department, and with external stakeholders and partners, in order to identify and deliver on communications needs.

· Help find, develop and pitch news stories, press releases, thought leadership pieces and other content to national press on ARUK’s policy and public affairs activity, bringing the charity’s expertise and key messages to the forefront.

· Support the running of ARUK’s press office by co-ordinating responses to breaking news stories relating to relevant dementia policy developments, including drafting reactive comments, briefing spokespeople and accompanying spokespeople to interviews when appropriate.

· Monitor relevant media coverage; keep up to date with policy, social, scientific and charitable sector issues which could benefit, or have relevance to, ARUK.

· Assist with the organisation and delivery of events, including ARUK’s research conference and events in parliament.

· Develop effective working relationships with relevant members of the media, government and NHS communications contacts; respond promptly to queries, including occasional out-of-hours queries.

· Work with the Public Affairs team to build on existing relationships with ARUK’s campaigners and parliamentary advocates, developing engaging content to strengthen our communications with these groups.

· Work with the Internal Communications team to create and disseminate materials to support staff across the organisation in engaging their stakeholders and the wider public with ARUK's policy and public affairs work, including toolkits and Q&As.

· Liaise with the Social Media team to develop compelling content in support of the charity’s policy and public affairs work.

· Ensure activities comply with ARUK’s branding and style guide.

· Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Policy Communications Manager in line with the responsibilities of the post. 

 

What we are looking for:

· Educated to degree level in related subject or equivalent level of experience.

· Experience of working with national media on health/science or policy issues.

· Experience of working with external stakeholders and partners.

· Experience of delivering communications programmes through a variety of media (e.g. press, social media, email, events).

· Confidence working with computers; knowledge of Microsoft office packages and databases, good keyboard skills.

· Understanding of the UK political landscape, its potential impact on health policy and the role communication plays in policy change.

· Excellent journalistic skills and news sense.

· Ability to understand and translate complex policy into consumable communications for journalists and the public.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage many tasks with internal and external stakeholders to multiple deadlines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with a broad range of people, including journalists, policymakers, representatives from partner organisations, and people affected by dementia.

· A confident and friendly manner; would feel at ease representing the charity to a range of audiences.

· Willingness and ability to travel independently in the UK and to work outside of regular office hours when needed.

About the Project: 

Another Way is a bespoke project that specifically targets young people between the ages of 14 and 21 who are involved in or affected by criminal exploitation/or serious youth violence and those who are at serious risk of becoming involved. The key deliverable is the late-night sessions from 9pm to 12am+ where we provide a safe space at a time when young people are typically at most risk. The service provides young people with a platform to build positive relationships, engage in a range of positive activities, cook and eat together and access educational and employment pathways.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Programme Associate to provide programmatic support to a portfolio of Internews’ projects in the Europe & Eurasia (E&E) region. The role will be part of the Internews’ headquarters E&E Project Management

Unit (PMU) and report to the London-based Senior Programme Officer. The role will support the project teams in the E&E region as they conduct their project activities and help ensure.

Effective programme implementation, particularly related to project reporting, work planning, and monitoring, evaluation, research and learning (MERL). The role will contribute to development opportunities that support E&E media and journalists to safely provide good quality information. The role may also be asked to represent Internews at partner and donor meetings. The role will also contribute to Internews’ knowledge management and improvement of Internews systems.

• Support the project teams across all programmatic and operational aspects of European-funded grant programmes to implement high-quality projects on time and budget, and to the highest technical standards, and in a way that positions projects within a broader regional or thematic portfolio and contributes to organisational impact.
• Assist PMU management with project oversight and progress towards programme deliverables.
• Support project start-up, implementation, and closeout.
