This is an exciting new role at Centre 33 and will play a key role to support the advancement and successful implementation of an operational plan to fundraise across Corporate and Community opportunities.

What the job involves
We’re looking for an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our Events and Community Team. A high performing team who are driven to maximise opportunities, we aim to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.
Our team raises funds through a range of activities including:

You’ll be our first point of contact for our fundraisers. You'll provide admin and support through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. Whilst each Coordinator has a primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also work across teams to support where needed during busy periods of activity.
This role works with data through maintaining our Raiser’s Edge database. You'll also update records on JustGiving and Facebook Fundraising. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.
You’ll also work with our Communications teams. This supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising products, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

Community Fundraisers are remote/hybrid based, with some presence expected at your local office or Hospice. It is expected that you will be based within or in close proximity to the region e.g. North London. For this role, the post holder will need to be willing to travel to Embassy Gardens (Embankment, SW11 7BW) occasionally. Due to the requirement to be London based, this post holder can choose if they opt to recieve an additional £3,500 LLW on top of the offered annual salary. About this role
This new role, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, is an exciting opportunity to join our team who have been supporting adults with learning disabilities for almost 40 years. As we look to the future, we need to consider new opportunities to build partnerships and collaborations to build a strong, resilient network of third-sector organisations in Swindon and the surrounding area.
Main responsibilities
- Work with the trustees, staff, volunteers and members to develop and deliver against a Strategic Business Plan.
- To act as the lead relationship manager with partners on behalf of The Open Door Centre.
- Take responsibility for diversifying fundraising, grants and income streams in line with the strategy and business development plan, be proactive in developing new leads and connections.
- Explore and develop joint grant bids by liaising with external partners to support grant applications that align with our strategic aims.
- Develop, monitor and maintain key systems and processes, such as effective funder reporting and review meetings, and monitoring and reporting on fundraising KPIs.
Skills, competencies and experience
- Skills and experience in third sector fundraising, preferably including corporate fundraising, funder reporting and grants and confidence in identifying and developing new opportunities.
- A demonstrable proactive approach to engaging with new and existing funders to set up and develop lasting relationships.
- Ability to prepare high-quality funding proposals/grant applications and reports, adapting the communication style for different audiences and stakeholders to maximise impact.
- A skilled communicator (verbal and written) who can gather information and enthuse individuals both internally and externally.
- The ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills with firm understanding of KPIs, targets, budgeting, and risk mitigation plans.
- Proactive, positive and self-motivated, able to work on own initiative and inspire and enthuse others, and overcome hurdles to achieve results.
- IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet and social media.
Other information
This post will be a hybrid role with some time spent in the Centre in Gorse Hill, Swindon, some remote work, and attendance at meetings and events in the Swindon area - this could include evenings and weekends.
The post is funded for a period of three years. Successful applicants will need to provide proof that they have the right to work in the UK and provide two references.

The Philanthropy Manager is a key member of the Philanthropy & Partner Engagement Department within War Child’s award-winning Fundraising team. Working closely with the Philanthropy Lead (line manager) and Senior Philanthropy Manager, you will manage a portfolio of major donors at 5- and 6-figure level to support a team target of c£1.4M.

As Philanthropy Manager, you will:
- Identify and qualify a pipeline for up to 6-figure gifts for both unrestricted and restricted giving
- Lead and be supported on building an excellent stewardship programme, supporting relationship managers across the team to deliver sector leading supporter journeys
- Develop and implement strong cultivation and solicitation plans for existing donors to generate significant income from the portfolio. This will include personal meetings, attending networking events, writing proposals/reports and making presentations
- Take an active role where relevant, on the planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of philanthropy events, including events that are hosted by Ambassadors
Ideal skills and experience:
- Experienced in a similar fundraising role, with a knowledge of major donor fundraising, ideally within an international development or humantarian NGO
- Ability to input into fundraising strategies with a track record of securing 4-5 figure gifts and delivering against targets
- Experienced in stewardship strategies for major donors or the development of supporter journeys in order to retain donors
- A relationship focussed approach with strong networking skills at senior levels internally and externally

About the charity: Cavernomas look like raspberries and are found in the brain and spinal cord. They're formed of abnormal blood vessels with thin leaky walls, which can bleed at any age without warning. 1 in 625 people are thought to have a cavernoma, and whilst most people won't experience symptoms 1 in 2,700 do. Symptoms can include haemorrhages, seizures and other neurological problems. Treatment involves 'wait and see', neurosurgery or stereotactic radiosurgery; with no medications currently available.

We work from a model of empowerment, recognising the value of our members’ lived experience to provide mutual support, improve standards of care and drive research into finding a cure.
Since the charity was founded in 2005 it has grown from a volunteer-led organisation based in Dorchester to a UK wide registered charity that now has 2 part-time permanent staff, looking to increase to 4 Part-time staff (all home-based), 50+ volunteers, and 4,000+ members. Our support services include a helpline, buddying, counselling, online support groups, meet-ups, webinars, lectures, newsletter, leaflets, website and social media.
About the roles: The Member Support Assistant is responsible for assisting our Volunteer Manager with administration relating to the support of the charity’s 4,000 members and volunteers. This includes offering a professional service to members of CAUK, typically via phone, email, online, chat, or on occasion in person. The role involves supporting the membership and volunteering processes, ensuring all admin is accurate and up to date. Over time the post-holder will be expected to build a good working knowledge of members and volunteers. They will also be expected to develop strong communication skills, including active listening, alongside the ability to multitask, manage time and prioritise.
The Events and Office Assistant is responsible for assisting the Charity Manager with the administration of events alongside some general office activities for the charity. This includes assisting with the organisation of the virtual Annual Conference, virtual Monthly Information Webinars, in-person Annual Snowdon Climb for Cavernoma, online Cavernoma Awareness Month activities, in-person Autumn Lecture, virtual Secret Santa, attendance by volunteers at external conferences, and any other events organised by CAUK. As and when time permits in between events the post-holder will also assist with some general office activities, including posting t-shirts/fundraising packs to fundraisers and arranging Zoom meetings.

Lead a small team raising the resources and engaging with audiences to support the delivery of wide ranging services helping refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to settle and thrive locally. You will deliver income and support by managing your own small team and collaborating with the rest of the organisation to tell stories, share information, build understanding and deliver the income needed to run the organisation. We pride ourselves on quick and dynamic responses to new arrivals and changing needs and want a manger who will relish their part in this.
With a current turnover of £1.5-£2 million, from a good mix of trusts, foundations, individuals, contracts, partnerships, community, there is a constant need to manage amd renew relationships. There is also potential to develop new or underdeveloped areas of collaboration and income.
The manager will have proven all round experience and a track record of delivering income from multiple and varied sources. They will need to work from the Oxford office at least two days a week to build relations with other teams. Beyond that location and working hours are flexible.
