IPEM is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual to support colleagues and volunteers at our office on Tadcaster Road, York. The main focus of the job is to ensure that our office is a pleasant place to work for everyone and that our volunteers have the necessary administrative support to carry out their duties. Based in York, the Institute of Physics and Engineering in Medicine (IPEM) is an Educational Charity which acts as a Professional Body and Learned Society for a growing membership of more than 4,700 scientists, engineers and technologists working in hospitals, universities, and healthcare industries.
Having experience in an office-based role is essential, alongside a supportive and enthusiastic attitude towards work. The role is varied and interesting, with some regular routine tasks and some unusual requests that will require problem solving skills. You will support IPEM’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth and efficient business processes. This role involves administrative tasks, coordination, and communication to help optimise the operational workflow. You will need to be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy.
The role will primarily be based in our offices in York, but some travel within the UK may be required from time to time. IPEM promotes flexible working for staff. We ask all new staff to be office based for the first 6 months to facilitate training and relationship building with a range of colleagues in the office. A formal flexible working request will be considered earlier.

The role
Working within Tameside’s volunteering team to raise the profile of volunteering in the community, the Volunteering Support Officer will support the delivery of a high-quality service both to individuals interested in volunteering, and to volunteer managers working within Tameside’s VCFSE sector.

The purpose of this role is to act as the policy focal point between Sightsavers and the World Health Organization (WHO) in the implementation of the at the country level.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Promote and support implementation of the recommendations of the global report at national level.
- Offer policy analysis and advice to help identify priorities and entry points for engaging with Ministries of Health and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate engagement in relevant policy processes and opportunities related to the implementation of the Global Report and Guide for Action process at the country level.
- Build strategic partnerships and alliances with key actors at the national and regional level to promote health equity, including governments, Organisations of Persons with Disabilities, health sector partners, Civil society and relevant bilateral and multilateral agencies.
- Ensure continuity of information sharing across Sightsavers and act as a point of contact for WHO Disability team and WHO regional and country offices.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with public affairs experience to join our Communications and Engagement Team on a 12 month contract starting 1st October.

As an CYP IDVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of abuse including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referral. In addition, you will act as a domestic abuse lead for Solace in Barnet providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and schools.
You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.
About You
We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about ending VAWG and a solid understanding of how domestic or sexual violence against a parent can affect a child in the home. You will have a “can-do‟ approach, experience of working with families and demonstrable commitment to Solace’s feminist approach to supporting women and their children to be safer. You will receive training and support for this role as necessary.
Successful applicants will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children, experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of VAWG, and a strong understanding of housing options and legislation.
A relevant qualification in VAWG is desirable.

The Role
We are looking for an Individual Giving Officer to join this reputable charity.
Duties will include:
- Meeting specific income targets and contributing to the overall Individual Giving strategy.
- Delivering acquisition campaigns including direct mail appeals, Face-to-Face recruitment and regular giving.
- Analysing income and expenditure on a monthly basis. Reporting on variances, monitoring KPI’s, making recommendations and forecasting future results.
- Delivering effective campaigns and appeals using a variety of channels.
- Developing and maintaining strong, positive relationships with supporters, donors, volunteers and team members.
The Person

We're looking for a creative Visitor Experience and Engagement Officer who can connect people with nature. Working at Minsmere, you'll provide fascinating visitor experiences, drawing people in through new, quality events.
Minsmere is the RSPB’s flagship reserve on the Suffolk coast, giving visitors incredible wildlife spectacles.
You will develop our visitor offer, ensuring high quality experiences. You will be a good communicator, experienced at delivering events and engaging with new audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Introduce new visitors to the RSPB by working with the Visitor Experience Manager to create a range of new and exciting events. These new events will sit alongside our current programme of events and will enhance our visitor offer and drive footfall.
- Ensure relevant data is captured for all events to enable reporting and evaluation.
- Engage and communicate with diverse audiences, face to face, digitally and via social media.
- Ensure the reserve delivers events to the highest standards resulting in a high-quality visitor experience.
- Support the continued development of a team of volunteers to assist with event delivery.
- Ensure the reserve delivers a high quality, on brand visitor experience.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Computer Literate to include professional use of social media adhering to brand.
- Sound understanding of systems and procedures relevant to a commercial visitor operation.
- Working knowledge of visitor engagement techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Proven ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
