The British Academy – the UK’s national body for the humanities and social sciences – is seeking a Research Funding Officer (Grants) to join our Research Funding Team.
The role
The role of the Research Funding Officer is to deliver specific activities within the portfolio of funding schemes managed by members of the Research Funding Team with specific responsibility for the BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants, the Stein-Arnold Exploration Fund, and the Neil Ker Memorial Fund. The Officer will be responsible for pre- and post-award management; planning and budgeting; advising applicants, award holders and assessors; monitoring and reporting on award outcomes; producing statistics and summary reports; and contributing to the ongoing improvement of the Academy’s grant management system.
You will work closely with another Research Funding Officer to deliver and administer the BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grants, leading on the opening, closing, and award-making aspects of alternate rounds, as this scheme runs twice a year, as well as working closely with the Academy’s Fellows, university research offices, applicants, grant holders, researchers and other stakeholders. The role will be involved in the organisation of selection meetings and other relevant associated activities for grant holders, researchers and other stakeholders.

We are looking for five new members to join our Investigating Committee: the positions are for three osteopaths and two non-osteopaths (lay positions). This is an opportunity to become part of a fair decision-making process for a modern, inclusive and innovative healthcare regulator.

The IC also has powers of interim suspension in relation to osteopaths.
You will be expected to commit no more than 15 days a year depending on caseload, plus some extra time for example for mandatory training, reading and annual reviews. The daily attendance fee is £330. We pay reasonable travel and subsistence expenses. Appointment starts on 1 April 2025 (initially for up to four years).

Overview

To also ensure there are clear and impactful communications, partnerships and marketing approaches for the development of the Green Team.

Job Purpose
To act as a key link between the Finance and Fundraising to ensure that all fundraising income is accounted for correctly and in a timely manner. You will report into the Financial Controller and work together as part of the Finance Team. You will liaise predominately with the Fundraising Team alongside other stakeholders across The Children’s Trust.
Manage and account for Fundraising income
- Responsible for processing and coding incoming donations between the bank accounts, ledgers and the CRM system, ensuring that entries are up-to date, accurate and posted in a timely manner.
- Responsible for banking of cash and cheques daily at the Post Office and the bank.
- Responsible for processing Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) vouchers, credit card receipts and other charitable donation vouchers.
- Use the CRM system to identify the source and coding of donations.
- Work closely with the Supporter Care team and other teams to resolve queries.
- Responsible for restricted income, reconciling with Fundraising to ensure donations are allocated correctly.
- Ensure that collection box income is collected and reconciled.
- Issue, amend and cancel Fundraising invoices and ensure payment is received promptly.
- Process and reconcile World Pay, Just Giving and other forms of electronic giving receipts accordingly. Provide Fundraising with relevant reports.
- Reconcile shops weekly income to the till system reports.
- Obtain and process reports from PayPal in relation to goods purchased via the website.
- Manage PDQ and banking terminals / platforms.
Month end procedures
- Month end fundraising processes including accruing income and processing bought in goods journals.
- Retail journals including income and shops rent and rates expense release.
- Reconcile Restricted Funds, ensuring that each restricted donation is allocated to the correct Fundraising code.
- Reconcile Fundraising and Retail Gift aid.
- Work with Fundraising to chase unpaid invoices
Other general duties
- Lead with the Fundraising / ThankQ systems integration.
- Responsible for maintaining the Finance Fundraising SharePoint site.
- Manage Fundraising relationships ensuring relevant support is provided to meet all departments objectives.
- Raise ad hoc other income invoices and receipts such as rentals, events and student placements.
- Continually look to review and improve processes working with Fundraising and other stakeholders.
- Assist with the year-end stock-take and to ensure that the stock remaining, and stock sold reconcile for each shop.
- Assist with the annual audit.
- Arrange banking of foreign and mutilated currency.
- Provide ad hoc assistance to the rest of the Finance Team.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Events Manager, the Events Coordinator will be responsible for managing outdoor, parks and corporate events. From supporting enquiries to increase sales conversions to helping customers plan and manage their events safely and successfully.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience with managing event applications and processing health and safety paperwork in parks, outdoor venues, or local authorities. Someone equally comfortable with advising professional event companies as well as supporting first-time community organisers and someone who can balance our commitment to not overwhelming our public spaces but also with a keen understanding of achieving revenue targets.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
Venue Management:
- Providing clients with venue availability, quotes, and conducting site visits
- Briefing clients on T&Cs for hire and licenses and supporting clients making event applications
- Ensuring all event application paperwork per event is complete and compliant with the requirements of the Event Policy
- Overseeing health & safety procedures; liaising with security personnel and conduct thorough site inspections before, during, and after events
- Working with internal & external contractors to secure the necessary services for each event and ensure clients are billed accurately
- Collaborating on developing new event opportunities to maximize revenue for the park(s)
- Communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure all park events and activities are well coordinated
- Maintaining clear communication with clients to address their needs and work with the site team to fulfill their requests
- Supporting and attending events / productions as required
Admin and Finance:
- Managing event bookings and venue schedules to maximise revenue
- Raising invoices and purchase orders for clients, tracking corporate bookings income and expenses, ensuring smooth cash flow, and keeping budget up to date
- Ensuring all supplier’s paperwork is checked and uploaded to the system
- Raising contracts and agreements, ensuring all aspects of the event are clearly outlined and protected
- Updating the booking system with all confirmed event details, ensuring all details are documented and ensuring efficient scheduling and avoiding conflicts
- Preparing and submitting TEN applications to relevant authorities for events requiring permits in public spaces or with specific restrictions
- Supporting the Head of Events and Senior Events Manager with various projects, taking ownership and initiative
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience planning and managing events, ensuring a positive client experience
- Management of multiple clients simultaneously, providing confident and patient guidance to clients
- Proficient in a range of office software; Outlook, Excel, Xero
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with clients, staff and senior management
- You thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple tasks and projects efficiently against deadlines
- Proactive approach and pride yourself on going the extra mile to create best customer experience possible
- You can work autonomously while readily collaborating with the wider events team
- Key player in event success with a flexible schedule that adapts to needs; including weekends, early mornings & late nights

About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Fundraiser to join our Community Fundraising team. Community is at the heart of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, and our community fundraising team play a vital role in building relationships and raising funds across our community and catchment. As a Community Fundraiser you will enjoy working with people and supporting the community to maximise, they’re fundraising efforts for Shooting Star.
Shooting Star Children’s Hospices is a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. We support families across Surrey and London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.
As a key member of our Community Fundraising team, you will work closely with the Community Fundraising Manager on new and existing fundraising activities, helping to maintain and develop existing relationships and work proactively to identify new contacts and opportunities for development. This is an exciting role, in a growing team within a charity that makes a huge impact across our communities. We would welcome applications from candidates who have demonstrable experience in fundraising, marketing or sales, or transferable relationship management skills.
The post will be based at the hospice in Hampton, but you may need to travel extensively throughout Shooting Star Children’s Hospices catchment area and therefore it is essential you are a car owner and driver.

Overall Purpose of Role
The Corporate and Individual Donor Manager will play a leading role in driving our fundraising strategy, cultivating and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and individual donors to secure vital funding for our programmes. Corporate Donor Management

Role Summary
LGBT Foundation is an impactful, vibrant charity with a wide portfolio of well-established services and rapidly developing new initiatives aimed at meeting the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans people. We are looking for a People Advisor to support in providing advice, guidance, and clarity for all colleagues on various HR and recruitment systems and processes. The People Advisor works alongside the rest of “Team People” which also comprises of Organisational Development, Volunteer Programme and Centre Operations – working to ensure that LGBT Foundation has the best working environment and processes possible for its colleagues.

Role Accountabilities
1. Support with the implementation of the People Strategy

The successful candidate will manage our existing fundraising real estate including our benches, leaves for life, and Wills & legacies campaigns, while adding a fresh view on opportunities for our birthday celebrations next year.
