Action Against Hunger UK invested in and accelerated the roll-out of the best approaches to prevent and treat severe acute malnutrition. This includes ensuring that operational research is supported by robust costing and cost-effectiveness analysis.
We are looking for a Senior Research Advisor to work within the Nutrition Unit of Action Against Hunger UK’s Operations Department. The Senior Research Advisor will be expected to
- Lead the implementation of a wide range of research projects (including evidence synthesis, economic evaluation, programme evaluations, clinical trials, and community studies)
- Support the positioning of Action Against Hunger as a key reference on the build-up of evidence in prevention and treatment of malnutrition research Project
- Lead on evidence dissemination, knowledge management, research uptake activities as well as the development of training materials linked to research and Cost Effectiveness analysis.
You will be leading internal projects and external consultancy projects. In addition to members of the nutrition team, you will work with external partners which might include other NGOs, academic partners, UN agencies and independent consultants. You will apply analytical skills, strong technical experience and enjoy a flexible and adaptive working environment, while supporting the positioning of Action Against Hunger as a key reference on nutrition assessments and research. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust (the Trust) is looking for a part-time (0.8 FTE) Head of Outreach.
This role will:
· Lead on the development and implementation of an Outreach Strategy that delivers against the Trust’s 10-year organisational strategy, especially Aim 2: to inspire people and organisations, including policy makers, to take action for bumblebees.
· Lead on the development and monitoring of the Trust’s KPIs relating to face-to-face outreach ensuring data collection methods and tools are fit for purpose, and staff and volunteers have the necessary training and support to confidently report on the impact of face-to-face outreach activities.
· Work with the fundraising team to generate income to fund the sustainable growth of the Trust’s outreach activities across the UK.
You will be an excellent communicator and problem solver with experience in managing change and leading and motivating staff and volunteers. You will have a proven track record in securing grant funding and building strong partnerships with third party organisations, as well as experience in monitoring and evaluating the impact of public engagement and volunteering activities, including social and wellbeing impacts and behaviour change.

The main purpose of this role is to deliver clear, accurate and valuable guidance to community organisations on renewable energy technologies, business models and project development processes at various scales. Pay and conditions

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Deliver engaging training to local and community stakeholders on renewable energy, heat and (potentially) storage technologies.
- Develop and strengthen creative tools, accessible guidance and other materials for community organisations that increase their ability to scope, develop and deliver projects.
- Work with community actors to develop and deliver pro-active local engagement processes that build informed consent and support for renewables within their wider community.
- Support community organisations to plan and deliver sites for development, assisting them to undertake basic options, appraisals, and commission specialist feasibility and other necessary studies.
- Provide input and guidance to help identify and secure funding and finance for project development and implementation.
- Facilitate learning, networking, and sharing between local and community organisations, staff and volunteers, including connecting networks, organisations and individuals to progress ideas.
- Support CSE’s fundraising activities and the development of new models and approaches for the provision of renewable energy, heat projects, and services at the local and community scale.
- Champion to key stakeholders (such as local authorities and funders) the roles which local and community organisations can play in catalysing and enabling renewable energy and local energy projects.
- Foster collaboration and deepening relationships with partners and other organisations who are active and interested in supporting similar areas of work. This might include local authorities, community organisations, community energy organisations, third sector organisations, developers, funders, investors and key supply chain actors.

Essential attributes for this role include:
- Have experience and knowledge of developing and/or delivering heat, renewable energy, or storage projects, including larger standalone renewables projects.
- The ability to research and rapidly synthesise and share key understanding around different renewable technologies.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to apply these appropriately to a wide range of people and to relay and translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Have a broad understanding of the UK energy system, and the transformations required to tackle the climate emergency.

The Communications Manager leads the development of our brand and public-facing messaging to engage our audiences in the global impact of the Award. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporter care and ideally have prior experience in a donor support role or experience in customer service, administration as well as data entry. Main duties of the job
This is an integral role which aspires to give our supporters the best possible experience on their fundraising journey with the aim of building long term relationships. The role will take a lead on Supporter Care with all donors for the charity team, acting as a helpful and knowledgeable “front-line face” for patients, families, staff and volunteers.
Key duties:
- Manage the start and end of the stewardship journey for all donors and fundraisers by dealing with all enquiries through email, post or phone or face to face at the office ensuring that we meet the best standards of donor care
- Manage post and charity office filing system and the banking and thanking process
- Maintain relationships through regular contact with donors throughout their fundraising journey offering any support or guidance needed to maximise their giving
- Act as a dynamic presence, leading and recruiting volunteers, community groups and small companies to organise fundraisers for our charity
- Build fantastic connections with patients, NHS staff, volunteers and our wider community to recruit new donors, fundraisers, volunteers and charity champions
- Support in growing the number of supporters playing the hospital lottery and those giving through our hospital ‘giving plaques

We are recruiting for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Finance.
Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Homeworking with a requirement to work periodically at Head Office (Vauxhall, London)
Salary: £53,000 per annum (plus an additional £3000 London weighting allowance if applicable dependent on your home location and any agreed permanent homeworking arrangement)
Contract type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
This is an opportunity to join Refuge as the Senior Financial Accountant.
This is an exciting role within the finance team at Refuge working as part of the Corporate Services directorate. The finance team is on a change journey and this role is a great opportunity for someone with a keen eye for seeking efficiencies, enjoys process improvement and who has implemented change in previous roles, to bring their skills and experience to the team. You will have the opportunity to make a big impact through your work. This role will be the lead on matters relating to the accounting and treasury function.
This role reports to the Head of Finance and will be a key member of the finance leadership team, working together to create a finance function which is fit for the future.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to developing Refuge’s learning and development programme.
The successful candidate will work with the People Development team to support the roll out of our annual training calendar, developing internal communications to advertise our training catalogue, reporting and ongoing evaluation of our training. With a strong customer focus, you will act as the key point of contact for our staff and our training partners. You will have experience working with learning management systems with a keen eye for detail and good analytical skills.
